It's nice to see this place is still open! It's been about 7 years or so since I was in the area. Service was great! Poke was on point! Check it out.

Although this is once of the more pricey poke places (charges extra for some toppings), I enjoy the poke bowls here and the staff is always friendly. A lot of construction around the area so not the most convenient location but I'd recommend if you're in the area and craving a poke bowl!!

Y'all this poke is so tasty! While it's more on the expensive side, this one is worth it. You have to pay additional for sides but the quality of the fish is fresh and you get good chunks! When I was there they had just chopped onions so my eyes were crying lol!! But it just showed how fresh the sides were too! The person who was making my bowl was friendly and she was not stingy with the portions. They had some good music playing and a constant flow of customers, even with the construction going on outside.

Stopped by this place at around 2pm on a Saturday. The place is quiet and the parking lot looks kinda empty, but it was in fact open! The girls serving us were very kind to explain their system and serving sizes. I got a bowl which includes one very generous sized scoop of fish. You are able to get half scoops in order to maximize the flavors for your bowl. I would say that one half scoop is comparable to other full sized scoops at chain poke restaurants in the Seattle area. They do charge $1 extra for sides. My bowl came out to be about $18. I got white rice, half salmon, half spicy ahi, crab salad, seaweed salad, and spicy aioli. The fish is pre-marinated, Hawaiian style. The flavor was good, not too salty or spicy, but the fish could be a bit fresher. There are not too many toppings so the fish is the main focus. Overall, still a nice local spot to grab poke in Renton!

Week 20/52 in my endeavor to try one new (to me) local spot per week! I'm one of those people who is ALWAYS craving sushi and or poké. I could eat either (or both) every single day. I've had Big Island in my bookmarks forever, and when I was visiting my mom nearby, I decided a lunch stop was essential! For as small as this place is, they've got a nice big parking lot. There's one or two tables outdoor for dining, and a couple spots inside, but it's really not meant for you to sit and linger. Eat and go, or eat in your car! I went with the Spicy Ahi Tuna special - tuna, masago, chili oil, sriracha garlic aioli, and green onions. I also added avocado and crab. The additions made my lunch a little spendy, but it was worth it. Everything about this bowl was delicious! Great flavor, and each ingredient tasted incredibly fresh. I love spicy poké bowls, and the Spicy Ahi Tuna was exactly what I had been craving. Great spot for lunch in the Renton area!

Yassssss this is some good poke! Big hand-cut chunks of ahi in their Hawaiian sauce had me gobbling down my bowl. I added some extra spicy krab and seaweed salad. The krab was ok but the seaweed salad was delicious. I will probably get double the seaweed next time. The brown rice was perfectly cooked as well I was the only in-store customer at the time but Doordash orders were flying out the door. Employee was super helpful and very easygoing. Made me feel very welcome. They don't have as many crazy toppings as the chain stores but the poke is so dang good that they don't need all that stuff. Definitely worth a stop. The only reason I talk to them a point was because the poke gave me explosive diarrhea! X/

I love Big Island Poke! The food is so tasty. the poke is great quality and this family owned business is such a local favorite. I love the owners and appreciate their strong work ethic and kind hearts. the service is always immaculate and the vibe they bring is definitely ohana.

    Oh Let's E.

I was very excited to try this place because people were raving about it. We got the birria noodles, sushi fries, spicy tuna and the pink passion fruit drink. ( I think that's what it's called ) The birria noodles had ZERO flavor. I asked the girl about the broth and she said next time she'll add extra chicken bouillon in it lmao. Yeah no. The drink was extremely sweet we could not drink it. Spicy tuna was a hit. If you don't like spicy don't get it. The fries were okay a little on the dry side but not bad. We came back just for the fries and requested if they could add more sauce on the fries before the crabmeat. The guy did not add the sauce. Not sure if he didn't hear us or what lol Definitely don't recommend. This place is very pricey. You can get better food for cheaper somewhere else.

This used to be my favorite spot because of their cream cheese aioli sauce but not anymore.. They have recently increased their already expensive pricing, give tiny portions of proteins, barely have any toppings compared to any other poke spot, and charge extra for toppings every other poke place includes in their prices... No one should be spending $20+ for a regular poke bowl. Spend your money elsewhere!!!

New city, new state, gotta find new spots. So we're here Big Island Poke, gave them a shot and it was good. The quality of poke (fish) was very clean and tasty. Only issue that I was use to back in SoCal is that the sides are included, here some of the sides are a dollar per side. Overall the poke was good and I would come back. Also had to wash it all down with a POG drink

We ordered: Oxtail saimin: good flavor, oxtail was tender, broth was light yet flavorful. I like that it comes with a few veggies. Fiesta plate: 2 protein (brisket and pork belly) with rice, Mac salad, and pickle veggies --- this would have been really good if the brisket was not so tough. It was like jerky style and too tough, especially when it's cut really thick like that. Flavor was good though. My favorite thing was the rice. It was a red rice and soft and flavorful. Pork belly was crispy. Portions was good for the price. People are really nice. Definitely a place to go if you want homey food

My daughter ordered their Chicken Katsu plate and mine was the Kalua Pig plate. My daughter enjoyed the katsu and it was such generous portion. However I didn't enjoy my kalua pork. It had an amazing smokey aroma but the taste was nothing but just salt. The side dishes were very tasty however. At first, I was trying my best to eat it with rice but the salt in the end really got to me. Especially I have high BP, so I decided to let the lady behind the counter know. It was very nice of her to remake it but it was still very salty. By then, I didn't want to eat it anymore. She offered to remake it for the third time as the chef was feeling bad about it. I told her, it's OK. My mouth only tasted salt and I had chucked down so much water including the free drinks she offered. I was already full. My daughter tasted it and said it was OK and told me she would eat my kalua pork and I could have her leftover half of chicken katsu. Tomorrow is New Year's Eve. It will be our dinner if we can't find a restaurant open.

Thankfully dine-in is back open again, so we got here on a Saturday morning around 11:20am to indoor seating that was nearly full and a small line that was forming at the front counter. Walls have a bunch of photo frames, and overall place felt very homely. They have a ton of Hawaiian style plates and even burgers and some seafood, though we and most others got the former to eat. I ordered their chicken and pork combo Hawaiian style plate, and my bestie got their chicken katsu Hawaiian style plate. Portions are huge for both plates and both also came with macaroni salad. They give you sooooo much meat no matter what you get. To go in slightly more detail: - Chicken and pork combo: both meats were flavored very well, and a little sweet too though pretty salty without using the rice as a palette cleanser. Chicken had more depth in its flavor; the pork's flavor was a little too much for my liking, and was slightly harder to chew. Both meats had some sauce hat went onto the rice itself. This didn't detract from my overall experience here, though. - Chicken katsu: we both agreed this was our favorite after exchanging pieces of each other's dish. The katsu is crispy and crunchy, and the chicken itself retained a lot of its juiciness. Katsu sauce on the side is honestly optional since the meat itself is already salty enough. This place does share extremely limited parking with Cakes of Paradise next door, so get here early or be prepared to drive around the area to find some. Just get here, it's a place you can't pass up when you hit up Georgetown!

Parking is scarce, so plan ahead and be patient. We came on a Wednesday and happened to score a parking spot right in front of the bakery. Once you arrive, get in line immediately--there will be one. The woman taking our order was incredibly peppy and friendly, even while juggling everything: taking in-person orders, answering phones, serving customers, and bagging food. Seriously impressive. All the seats were filled, so we ordered everything to-go. We got the famous crispy ginger chicken, spam musubi, and chicken long rice. I was hoping for oxtail soup and asked about it--she explained they only offer it on certain days and recommended calling early in the morning to check, then getting there quickly because it sells out fast. Can't wait to come back and try it. Back at the hotel, we feasted. The crispy ginger chicken is famous for a reason--so flavorful, perfectly crispy, and somehow even better the next day. The chicken long rice was packed with noodles directly in the soup (not separately) so the broth had mostly soaked into the noodles, but it was still deeply flavorful and comforting. The spam musubi leans on the sweeter side, which is great if that's your thing. Overall, this place is all about heart, hustle, and seriously satisfying Hawaiian comfort food. Come early, expect a line, plan for parking--and you'll be rewarded.
