I have been to this location many times and it is usually a hit or miss depending on who makes my bowl. Most of the staff are nice, but the owner does not quite seem to care about what his customers think as he is on the ruder side. However, the most outstanding staff is the older sweet looking lady who is incredibly kind. I wanted to make a review to to praise her (I wish I got her name!!) 2 scoops= small 3 scoops=medium 4 scoops=large Usually, the 2 scoops is enough to fill me up--but I'll always accidentally order the 3 scoops instead. I do not get their spicy meats because they're all cut up and mushy. Get their non-spicy one-- they're more fresh and at no extra charge. The rest are charge an extra $1.50 a scoop. So if you do not like mushy meat, I recommend you not to get the spicy ones. The sweet lady who helped me out gave me a small sample to try (for one of the protein) when it seemedl like I had trouble picking which protein to pick. She gave me a generous amount of toppings (the size of the scoops) when other people here usually give smaller scoops. The price is quite expesnive for what you get here sometimes. I like how this poke place actually mixes your protein into the sauce for you while others just squirt their suace on top. I like how spacous it is inside, and it gives a clean feeling. I enjoy eating my meals there on sunny days. The Poke Bar isn't the best Poke place, but it's not bad for Kent Poke. Very mid for a poke spot. It seems to have seen better days pre-pandemic based on older reviews on here. I found the portion sizes and their pricing to be unfair as you end up paying more for less food regardless what size you get. No matter what size you get it the rice portion overpowers the rest of the bowl. Not to mention the lack of choices you get and the small amounts added of the limited choices. The bowls are hit or miss overall. The spicy salmon is probably the better choice from all the options. Depending who makes the bowl you'll either get two bites worth of seaweed/crab salad or an actual decent amount. Service is eh little to no communication. Got a large and it was almost $18. The size was so underwhelming I was cringing swiping my card. There was nothing really special about this place. I've been to many poke places like this and they all pretty much taste the same to me except this one was way more expensive in my opinion. Meh is all I have to say. On this Saturday I was feeling adventurous, and felt like trying something new. This was when the following exchange happened between my Dad and I: My Dad asked, "Why not some poke?" I replied, "Uh what, like Pokémon?" After recovering from laughter he smiled and showed me the menu from Yelp and I'll be honest I was curious so I dug in. This may be my new favorite poke place. First of all when you walk in it's spotless. It's perfectly easy to understand where and what to order. The staff was really nice and great recommending different sauces (I like it really spicy). Fish taste deliciously fresh and I love the combination that they made with OG tuna and the OG salmon. They have more sauce choices than any other poke place that I have been to. They also carry a unique fountain cola called Stubborn Soda but have bottles of Pepsi if you prefer that. If you wish to have health meal for once, poke is the way to go. I don't know about over-consuming raw fish, but once-in-a-while indulgence is understandable. You would get into a line, looking at the options through the glass, and picking and choosing your own poke meal. I always order a small plate because I swear it always fills me up. Albacore and octopus are my favorites protein so far. I am not a big fan of spicy food, so spicy tuna isn't my first choice. Sashimi added to the protein is a plus. Brown rice, please. Every type of vegetable EXCEPT for adamane and jalapeño will go on my plate. I would choose ginger, cucumber salad, and seaweed salad. However, the seaweed salad at this location is always OUT every time I am there. Whenever I don't go there, my coworkers always let me know seaweed salad is actually available. Perhaps, it's not meant to be! Haha! Finally, I'll just ask for a bit of dried and crunchy onions to top off my poke meal. I ordered the regular size (one scoop of protein) and did half tuna/half salmon on a bed of spring mixed salad. Other options includes brown or white rice as well. Next you get to choose your toppings and sauces. You are able to get all of the available toppings (seaweed, red onions, peppers, beans, crab salad etc) or select a few. The sauces- you can mix like I did. I chose the house sauce with a bit of spicy mayo. It was dynamite! And then the little crunchy bits come last as you're paying (crunch garlic pieces). My bowl filled me up and I couldn't barely get the last bite in! The value of what you get for $10 is amazing! My food was fresh, zesty, a little bit spicy but overall, felt healthy?? Is that possible?? They also have a fridge of beverages to the right near the cash wrap where you can get something other than water to wash down your delicious meal! This is my favorite place! It's fresh and always super yummy. The reason for not giving them a 5 star is because the man who works there gives out really small amounts and is not friendly. For example, instead of a full scoop, he would do a little more than half and barely adds any toppings with his hand. The lady that works there I truly appreciate. I don't know about this one. Poké is clearly one of Seattle's biggest food trends as of late, but that doesn't mean every spot is good. Like this one. I'd say Poké Bar in Kent is on the low end of the taste spectrum. There's nothing special about it. The fish is slathered up in a ton of sauce and several additions are mixed in- most likely to detract from the actual quality and plainness of the fish. I found it to be rather mushy- it lacks that smooth, firm, buttery texture and appeal that you'd get at a place that does it right. The order set-up is like most other poke spots. Pick your base, pick your protein, add whatever toppings, you know the deal. The service is friendly and they are happy to offer you samples to help you decide. The location sucks. Find it roadside next to a Bigfoot Java and Jimmy John's in an obscure part of Kent. Overall, I'd say this poké is of the fast-food grade (not much better or worse than Pokéworks, if you get my meaning)- think like the Chipotle or Subway of poké. For Kent, this is an okay-decent spot. They have three sizing option: small, medium, large. I got the small which came with 1 scope of rice, 2 proteins, and 2 sides. For protein I chose spicy tuna and I believe spicy salmon. I love the spice in the fish! It's the only poke place I've been that's actually 'spicy', other places are more like mild. What I didn't like about is that the protein are mashed up, not even bite size fish anymore. I think it's a bit expensive as compared to other poke places when talking about portion-prize. If I was really hungry, a size small ($12) would not fill me up since the toppings are not generous at all. I came during the covid pandemic. There's a small parking lot but it's never an issue finding a spot. Service here is always excellent. If it's your first time, staff is always willing to help you decide what to order. You have your choice of white or brown rice. For those gluten-free folks like me, all the poke is pretty much gluten-free and they have gluten-free soy sauce available. The parking lot was a little difficult to get into due to traffic backed up from a train stopped close by the restaurant and there aren't a ton of spots, but it's not too bad. Plenty of tables to eat at, but also easy to do take out. I do wish it were easier to find prices on their website before coming but ~$12 for a small bowl that was very filling was reasonable. I got their OG salmon (already mixed/seasoned) and regular salmon with spicy mayo. This had a good kick to it. The portion was generous and I felt more than full afterwards. My friend and I stuck around for a little bit talking, and decided we wanted to try dessert. They have a little freezer full of macaron ice cream sandwiches. These were too cute to pass up. Food: 5 Stars Service: 4 Stars If only I could get this out in the Midwest! One of the first things I did when I landed in Seattle was look for a restaurant that served poke. I didn't care how much it cost or where I needed to go, I just needed poke... and lots of it. I came across Poke Bar, this small unassuming place with a tiny parking lot. The restaurant itself is small with a minimalist vibe, super airy, fresh, and clean. Once at the bar, I was overwhelmed and confused as there were so many freaking options to choose from! From toppings to sauces and different types of fish, I didn't know where to start. The guy behind the bar smiled and let out a nice chuckle as he offered to walk me through the process. So what is the process? 1.) You start with a base. (White rice, brown rice, spring mix, kale noodle 2.) Pick your protein. (Tuna, salmon, tofu, albacore, spicy tuna, scallop, shrimp, octopus) 3.) Pick a sauce! (House dressing, ponzu, spicy mayo, sweet chili, wasabi mayo, wasabi shoyu, shoyu, gluten free soy sauce) 4.) Pick your mix-ins. (variety of vegetables and herbs) 5.) Choose 2 sides (Cucumber salad, seaweed salad, imitation crab) 6.) Add toppings! (ginger, wasabi, masago etc) I was amazed at all the different options available in front of me and the guy behind the bar was incredibly knowledgeable and helped me select options that complimented each other. He helped me create a pretty healthy meal with consisted of brown rice, spicy tuna and salmon, dressed with a spicy sweet chili sauce and paired with a refreshing seaweed salad and imitation crab. Ordered a large bowl here today. It was just OK. The prices are fine, but the greater Seattle area is riddled with poke shops right now (including some very close to this location), and ultimately, this one isn't special enough to convince me to go back. I was in during peak business hours (11 AM - 1 PM) and the rice was very mushy, like it had been out for a long time. The spicy tuna and salmon both looked and tasted great. I also got a scoop of scallops, and regret it - they are very soft and smell very fishy. The cucumbers were cut a little thin for my taste and so were flabby. The crab salad, green onions, and avocado are all good. The spicy mayo has more of a kick to it than the sriracha mayo that most places offer, which I like, but if you only like a little spice, beware! At the end, you have an option to add toppings: peanuts, sesame seeds, furikake, and fried onions (crispy onions). I get furikake wherever I go - delicious! - and was happy that they seasoned the rice with it, not the fish. The crispy onions were crushed very fine, almost into a panko-crumb texture. I'm not sure if they purchase them this way, or if they choose to do it in-house to stretch the onions farther, but it doesn't do anything to improve a bowl which is already lacking in texture. Finally, their fountain drinks are sourced from Stubborn Soda, which I had never heard of before. I got the agave cream soda, and it is absolutely delicious! I'm so glad they carry something that isn't Pepsi or Coke. I'll be looking for more Stubborn Soda drinks based on this experience. Good: Decent prices, generous bowls. Spicy tuna and salmon both good quality. Perfectly ripe avocado. Deliciously spicy mayo. Crab salad side for no extra charge. Fountain drinks are delicious! Bad: Limp, soft scallops smelled fishy. My go to mix ins are sweet onions, cucumber, green onions, cilantro, jalapeño, and edamame. And then it is tossed with sesame oil and your sauce of your choice. I go for their house dressing and spicy mayo. Now it's time for the delicious sides. The options are crab meat, cucumber salad, seaweed salad or avocado (this is an extra charge of $1. I always go for the crab meat and seaweed salad. And now your topping. Ginger and Masago. And your last final touches is sprinkling on some delicious fried garlic or fried shallots. Don't get me wrong, they have different varieties of fish/toppings and the staff was great but the fish was totally a miss. I got tuna and salmon and none of which are marinated. They're plain and then they add the mix ins and literally mix the sauce with all of it. the tuna especially was still flavorless and tasted straight from frozen. Today was my first experience at Poke Bar. I have always enjoyed sushi so it only made sense that I try this place, considering the great reviews, and it is geographically in my area. As I walked in the restaurant, the first thing that I noticed was the ambience of the restaurant, it was a very well lit a decent amount of seating, and the good music playing from the speakers. The staff seemed to have great attitudes and happy that the customers are arriving, even with it being close to closing hours. The guy the assisted me was named Alex, and I really appreciated how he could recognize that I had never been to this establishment, and he politely walked me through the process as a customer. I was very impressed with Alex, and his professional skills and the ability to create such and delicious Poke bowl for me. I have always been and observer of customer service, even more than the food experience, and because of people like Alex, I will definitely return to this restaurant on somewhat of a regular basis. In addition, to everything, the food is definitely fresh and delicious. I highly recommend checking out this restaurant, I can assure you, you will not be disappointed. Each scoop of protein is 2 ounces. I ordered the medium size and chose spicy tuna, albacore and salmon. Came here on Monday to take advantage of their grand opening 50% off promo. I'm a big fan of poke so I was pretty excited to try out this spot. The service was great. Everyone was friendly and helpful. The quality of the fish was good and the medium size bowl was pretty filling. With the medium, you get 1.5 scoops of rice, 3 scoops of fish/protein, unlimited choices of veggies, and two sides. I ordered two mediums, one for me and one for the mrs., with different sauces and fish. For mine, I got two scoops of spicy tuna and one scoop of salmon. The scoops are pretty small. They're like mini ice cream scoops. And then you get full size ice cream scoops of rice. As for the taste, the spicy tuna was flavored really well. It was ground up and had a pasty consistency versus being an actual chunk of tuna. For the salmon, I got the spicy mayo. It wasn't very spicy and there wasn't much additional flavor to it. For what it's worth, most poke spots that I've been to have their fish marinated. Here at Poke Bar, they mix everything together when you order it. Does that make a difference? I don't know, but that is where my first experience here falls a little short. For my wife's bowl, she had two scoops of salmon and one scoop of tuna. For her sauce, she did a combo of wasabi shoyu and the house dressing. She also said there wasn't much flavor so I had a taste and confirmed it. Maybe it was just opening week jitters? I will likely give this place another shot in the future or just stick with the spicy tuna, which I would have no problems doing. However, without the promo, it's kind of pricey. Ehh. I love poke! The only reason why I go to this one is because it's the close to my house and it's convenient. HOWEVER, I wouldn't choose it. They Asian guy is very stingy with giving out poke. I pay $12+ for this and it isn't even worth it. If you're ever craving poke don't go to this one. You won't get your money's worth. I will probably start going somewhere else. read more

Food was so good!! One of the best lunches ive ever had. To to eat every day, it's a little price it but worth it for some tuna, salmon, and all the other fixings. A medium "bowl" and soda was about $20. No will definitely come back read more

Literally got a bowl of rice and side. They hardly put any protein in there left the bowl half empty smh. I suggest going to Seattle fish guys or big island poke. read more

Service is terrible. You will receive a half ass greeting at the door and nothing but attitude as you are ordering. When I asked for wasabi, the worker took a generous glob and smeared it all over the rice. I didn't ask her to put it in a separate container; however, I thought it was common knowledge to do so. The girls working, loudly discuss their personal life like you are not sitting 3 ft away trying to talk/eat. But the worst part was after I left. My boyfriend, his friend, and I all got SO SICK from eating here. read more
