Every single thing on the menu is so delicious!! Now they started out with hot dogs and grew to something more. The lilikoi mustard is so good it's a must on my hot dog mixed with the sweet bread bun gives it that extra goodness. Everything we tried here tastes amazing! I always try to get pastele stew so be on the look out for when it's offered. It's hearty and delicious. Follow them on social media to see what's on the menu specials for the day. The people are so sweet. They just treat you with so much kindness. The desserts are a hit as well and don't skip out on their drink selections. They offer special drink options that you can only find at Top dogs. The decor centers all around hot dogs, and local vibes. I wish I was back in Hilo town right now to get another Top Dog! I had one with lilikoi mustard and inions and it was BOMB! Companion had a portugese sausage with chili topping another winner. Also don't miss the fries and lilikoi lemonade. Desserts look great too but I didn't try them this time. I am still thinking about this food. The banana Chantilly was unreal, and the bread pudding? Absolutely sinful. One bite and it was over for me. The staff was beyond friendly--warm, welcoming, and genuinely made you feel at home. Every time I come back to this island, this place is non-negotiable. We landed at Hilo airport around 12:30 and wanted a snack...found this gem of a place that is the very definition of a hole in the wall: smack dab in the middle of a residential airport ~5 minutes from Hilo International in a small shopping center. Employee/cook was very friendly and gave us suggestions on what to order. The Dogzilla hot dog with mushrooms, cheese, bacon, and all kinds of goodness (two aiolis, crispy onions, chives) was the best dog I've eaten EVER. The chili dogs were amazing as well. Ended up in Hilo and most restaurants are closed. Ended up in this small shopping strip with a few parking spots. Place is pretty small, takeout only and no public restrooms. Ordered a plain dog, cheese burger deluxe, crispy chicken burger, spudzilla fries, and their acai bowl. Just a heads up, don't order "plain" anything. Literally just buns and meat and that's it. The burger deluxe was decent, crispy chicken was good too, juicy, but kinda boring just stuck in between two buns. The spudzilla fries was done pretty well, and same for the acai bowl. Prices aren't outrageous, so that's pretty nice. read more

The owners are incredibly friendly and have crafted a delicious menu that's clearly made with love and Aloha. I tried the loco coco bowl with a Beyond burger, and it was fantastic! The gravy fries were a treat, and the pumpkin mousse dessert cup was to die for! My dining companion had the regular loco moco and loved it. The mac salad is likely the best on the island, and I'm pretty picky about it. My partner also had the special "Silence of the Lamb Hotdog", (locally raised lamb) and claimed it was the best he's ever tasted. This spot is definitely going to be a regular choice for us. I will start off with, We will definitely be back to visit Big Island Top Dogs. Their food was amazing, every bite was so flavorful and ONO (also known as delicious/good), the presentation was amazing and they are very generous with their portions and a positive plus their reasonable prices. You can never find any great tasting, juicy, well cooked to perfection cheeseburger with lots of toppings, a deluxe + jalapeños for less than $9 anywhere on Big Island. My favorite is their HULA BURGER. The staff were the most friendliness people and overall quality of the service was a 10/10 definitely recommend!! Another amazing find in Hilo, our friends in Hilo took us here and "wow" menu has a little bit of everything..plate lunch, burgers, hotdogs, desserts, amazing teas, etc. No dine in, take out only but was busy so that tells you something about the food. Its in a warehouse but very spacious inside, cute counter to order....we had the chicken katsu curry (my husbands fav), poke bowl and Pastele Stew (this is like gold, hard to find pastele anymore)...our friends ordered their normal hot dogs and fries, the hot dog comes on a interesting sweet roll looked yummy. And we ordered the brownie with chantilly frosting (this was the bomb) and lilikoi lemonade (it was okay). A must stop everytime we are in Hilo visiting family. They have a large variety styles of hotdogs. I usually get the other special combos. I haven't had one that I didn't like yet which is why we keep coming back. Lines do get long so be prepared to wait a while for your food. While visiting the Big Island of Hawaii and after a long day of hiking, my girlfriend and I (and another couple) stopped by Big Island Top Dogs. As we pulled up we all looked as we had made a mistake because it was of the beaten path in a strip mall that did not look like it saw a lot of traffic. That being said, we were all starving and decided we needed to eat before we snapped on each other because we were all HANGRY! We started walking towards the door and a gentled was exiting. We asked him about the place and he said, "Best Dayum Dogs in town!" Well that was promising but the jury was still out. When you first walk in, the choices are overwhelming. There is a chalkboard to the left of the counter with specials on it and to the right of the counter there are several standard choices or you can build your own dog. Since nothing on the standard menu jumped out at me, I decided to build my own. I originally ordered the bratwurst with banana peppers, onions and sauerkraut but after I sat down, I was informed that they didn't have anymore and while I was disappointed it certainly convinced me that this place sells a lot of hotdogs. So I went with the polish sausage instead. Fast forward to the food, it was certainly not your typical hot dog and I now have to revaluate my grilling skills when it comes to hotdogs. My hotdogs have never tasted this good and while I've always figured there's only so much you can do with a hot dog, this place certainly know what they are doing. I also tried these fried corned beef hash hush puppies. I love corned beef hash so I gave it a try. They were okay but certainly not my favorite. The staff was extremely pleasant, the establishment was clean and there was plenty of room and space to eat in peace and relax. You all should certainly stop by and pay them a visit.
