    Big Jim himself

We drove by Big Jim's BBQ and saw people waiting in line at this lunch truck and wondered how it tasted. One day we were thinking of where to eat at so I suggested that we try out Big Jim's BBQ. We drove into that big lot and as soon as we opened the car door, we smelled that wonderful aroma of BBQ. Our mouths were watering. As we were looking at the menu, Big Jim himself came up to us. He is a really nice and friendly guy. He explained the menu to us and we placed our order. We got our food and took it back to our place. We got the ribs and the brisket. They both had a nice smokey taste and a nice sauce. My ribs were a little bit dry but the brisket was nicely done. So if you are hungering to put some Southern BBQ in your mouth, stop by and see Big Jim and his crew and get some tasty meat in your mouth!

The glory of Big Jim's Big Smoker

Stopping at Big Jim's is an experience. You've got the big smoker on the corner to draw you in and, once you're there, the friendly, personable, and engaging character that is Big Jim. This man and his crew seem do a great job of engaging every guest that stops by. The BBQ is good, certainly not the best I've had but definitely not the worst. I had the ribs, pulled pork, and brisket. The pork wasn't pulled, but rather chopped. The meats are well smoked but I feel like mine were pulled from the smoker prior to my arrival and had been resting for a little longer than I want for the price I paid. The sauce is tasty but not to my liking (I like to think I'm most picky about my sauce when going to any BBQ joint). It is thick, which is nice, but cinnamon is the most prevalent flavor. Finally, my two sides were fantastic. Beans and potato salad were on point, and top quality. It is relatively expensive but they are not shy with the portions, so I think it's worth it. Overall, I recommend stopping by and trying it. BBQ is unique in that there really is no standard way to measure "great" BBQ---people enjoy different style and what I find good, you may find great.

I had high hopes for the bbq after seeking the giant smoker and meeting owner Jim who spoke with a genuine southern drawl. I ordered brisket, specifying a moist (fatty) cut. The brisket was not particularly moist; it was a bit chewy; and it came drenched in a sauce. Good smoky flavor, however. I hope to give a better rating when I try the ribs.

I give 4.5 stars for Big Jim. He has been in business I think for 18 years. He is doing something right to be a vendor on the corner this long. He is extremely friendly to everyone. We had the rack of spare ribs, sausage (spicy goodness), and beans & potato salad. There is a lot of meat on the ribs and the wood smoke flavor is amazing. We have lived in Parker for 8 years and this our first time trying him. If you live in Parker, you know where he is located and have smelled the aroma on the weekends. He does accept credit cards. He also played in the NFL with the Atlanta Falcons back in the day.

We have been visiting Big Jim's since 2012. The beans are our favorite!!! We definitely recommend to anyone in the area.

This is one of our favorite "rib joints". I love the smokiness that sinks into the meat and the peach pie can't be beat!

The jalapeño and cheese sausage was okay just seemed like store bought jalapeño cheese sausage honestly. On top of it most of the food wasn't warm/hot at all it was more like room temp for everything. The bar area is decked out in sports memorabilia and old school sports equipment. It looked pretty clean to me as well. Our server was great! He was prompt and friendly. We ordered off of the protein power part of the lunch menu. It includes a salad and either a full rack of ribs or a plate with pulled pork, bbq chicken breast and chopped beef brisket. I got the kale salad and my partner got the Caesar salad. The kale was tasty and I definitely want to go try recreating it. My partner enjoyed his Caesar salad. I got the full rack of ribs which I'll probably get next time too, unless we go for the prime rib lol my partner enjoyed the three meat plate, we did share and I prefer the ribs. We will definitely be back, in my opinion I feel like the prices are reasonable for what you receive. This spot is worth a visit!

She was right ! The chicken wings we ordered extra crispy and I have to say the rub was delicious on the wings- I mean I ate all the meat of my chicken wings - and that's not always a thing for me. I ordered my chicken well to make sure it was cooked and my bacon extra crispy- and to my happiness they have real potatoes to make the French fries!!! My husband got the Cheeseburger and onion rings and they were tasty too! I had to try one - and they were just as good as my fries! THE ONLY SUGGESTION I WOULD MAKE is spend money on your BUNS! You want your bun to be as fresh as your food! The bun seemed old and tore apart as I ate my sandwich. It's a little dark but it's a bar and grill so it's perfect for a night out to watch some football! Our table was really clean but it wasn't that busy - - Hubby and I really enjoyed ourselves- so we went back a second time - got the same thing - but it was different this time - maybe because it was busy or a different cook but - I'll still support and again: SPEND SOME MONEY TO HAVE AWESOME BUNS for your sandwiches because the chicken is good!

I'm sure it's pretty tough to make these as tender as they were, but I was very happy with the results. I also had the pulled pork which was juicy and delicious and the brisket, which is always great. What may have impressed me the most was the grits. I also highly recommend going there on a weekend to get their three dollar Sammie. Don't think you'll beat that price anywhere for a solid amount of meat.

The employee taking orders didn't know much about the sides (when my friend asked about the beans he just showed them to him instead of explaining what they have in them or if he likes them). I asked about the grits and another employee had to chime in that they were good. We both ordered the combo which includes a drink and side. We waited for a while for our food and went in after a while to see if everything was ready. They seemed flustered and told us the food would be right out. Granted there were a few people ahead of us but less than 5 total. The real McCoy sandwich was REAL dry. It comes with burnt ends and the bison green Chile and cheddar sausage (used to have pork as well) and their regular or buffalo sauce helped but not enough to overcome the dryness of the meats. The andouille & corn grits were fine as well. The sausage gives it a nice pop but the grits were more like potatoes in consistency. The best part was the Boylans ginger ale. Bummed Roaming Buffalo wasn't what I had previously. May come back but with other BBQ options it may be a while.
