YALL... yall know I'm a drama queen so , let's get with it... let me take yall back to 1994! I had never heard of a Bono's , and went one day to the one I called, my "Hood Bono's!" When I would go here, I felt like BIG MOMMA always made my plate! This one was a staple. Imagine getting to raggedy corny Denver discovering a Bono's on my way to Home Goods. The food was decent ... I would even take friends.. Well well well .. The greeter, the young lady that sat me at my table was pleasant. Thank you for that. There may have been five tables at its fullest, with minimum 3 people at each tables. When my server showed up, she kind of looked like she had this stink look on her face, she was sweet however, I think that may have been just how she looked...like she was just tired and disgusted. I am not trying to take a dig on her. I'm just trying to give you all a very honest Review. My food came y'all. I am a thick girl. I am thickalicious. I have been thick probably all of my life. Well, I ordered okra which I always order okra there. It came burnt. I was going to try to eat it and I also had a brisket sandwich which the brisket was very kind of. I don't know it was like chewy the guy and his family that came in and sat in front of me. He substantiated that he sent his brisket back. I had already sent back to the burnt okra and asked for french fries so you know what I just took a loss for the team. Well when my fries came they had seasoning salt on them. I don't know when they started doing this. I don't like seasoning salt on my fries. I tried to dig through them because I paid for them, but I don't like seasoning salt on my daggone fries. Also, the meat was exactly what the guy said. It was very chewy. I don't know. Maybe they cut it wrong I don't know what it was but my sweet tea was very good which it is always good at Bonos. That is not it. A young lady came in and well. I believe it was a young lady and started screaming at the young lady that sat me at the table yelling hollering I mean we had full on dinner, entertainment ... "you know me, son you know who I am son FU son!" and a bunch of other explicits... I feel at this point everyone in there.... all of our food should've been free, but it's OK. I'm not sure who owns that Bono's right now but I haven't been there in about two years or maybe a year so let me just sayI give everyone a second chance I'm going to give them a second chance once I go back to HomeGoods, but that's just no longer my favorite spot. just skip over whatever grammar was wrong and whatever was misspelled... Incredible. You must go here. The fried corn nuggets are sweet little fried pillows of creamy corn. The baked beans are perfect; not too sweet, not too heat. The bbq pork was delicious, smoky, tender and juicy. And we took home a pint of banana pudding. Every single part of this visit was perfect. Restaurant claims BBQ feast comes with "Serves 3 to 5 people. 1lb. meat of your choice. 1 whole chicken (white and dark meat unless otherwise specified), 3 pints sides, and six toast." However it never came with any chicken or the other half of the feast. The sides potato salad and coleslaw were rancid. Not tangy from vinegar but rancid. The mac and cheese was swimming in watery cheese (if you can call it cheese) and tasted like the pasta had been drowning overnight in water. Quite honestly pig slop tastes better. As for the half of the main entree the brisket. It was tough and chewy and as a formed chef tasted like it was boiled and then microwaved until every last once of life was out of it. Although at Bono's for lunch with a friend I discovered I was a week early ! So I had a quick Grilled Chicken Sandwich. It was advertised ... grilled chicken. Not smoked or BBQ'd ... grilled. And it was a whole breast! I didn't need that much + I couldn't get my mouth around it even if I wanted to! Plenty of pickles, lettuce, red onions and tomatoes accompanied. My husband and I have been looking for a good barbecue restaurant since Winston's closed in Centennial. And we found it. This place is exceptional. Went in for a takeout order. I ordered the farmhouse burger and half slab of St. Louis style ribs. This place didn't disappoint and let me tell you I was worried my burger was going to be soggy and condiments all messed up from sitting inside the box but what they did is wrap the lettuce, tomato, onions, and picked up separate from everything else. Went there Sunday for lunch with a friend. She ordered the brisket and I ordered the 3 meat combo with brisket, chicken and pulled pork. Both our brisket was sliced very thing and could use it to repair the souls on your books it was so dry and hard. The chicken was very dry. The pulled pork was good and moist but our server was slow and bad. I won't be going back. I guess I have to ad the ambiance it place was ok. read more

Mouthwatering ribs. I I did not think I was ever going to find a Barbecue place anywhere near as good as Texas, but this place comes really close. This will be my go to place for Texas comfort food. Everyone was so nice. It seemed they have quite a few regulars too. As people walked in they knew them by name. It started getting really busy around 6:30. I'm glad we had gotten there earlier. I found this place to be surprisingly good! I would drive by often this place not thinking much of it because it's not that eye catching. But the food is really good! I was craving different kinds of BBQ and there were several platter options available. The option I chose had pork, chicken, ribs and sausage. They had different kinds of sauces too! Ranging from sweet barbecue sauce to a spicy (though I would consider it more of a just a little tangy kick to it). I liked all the sauces but I found the original to be the best! I also got a green chile stew and it was actually really good! I'm normally unimpressed with Colorado green chile but this one had some good spiciness to it! My husband and I visited this establishment for the first time today. We were greeted with "Hello's, Welcome" and smiles. The restaurant was nice and clean. The smell of the barbecue hits your nose soon as you get out your vehicle. For meats, we chose the wings, beef brisket, and jalapeño cheddar sausage. I'm very particular when it comes to sides. I inquired about the coleslaw and baked beans. I was offered samples of each. Coming from Louisiana and Texas, I immediately said "This is IT!, Finally someone got it RIGHT!" We got our order to go. The aroma on the smoked meats on the car ride home were calling our names. We couldn't get home to enjoy our food fast enough. Y'all the beef brisket was melt in your mouth tender , juicy, & seasoned to perfection. The jalapeño cheddar sausage full of flavor and smoked to perfection. We got the family deal and the brisket and ribs were really tough with not much flavor. The turkey and sausage were the only things good. Even the green beans had no flavor. Grew up in the south, BBQ is culture there. This was not BBQ. I had Brisket and Pulled Pork platter with Mac&Cheese and Green beans. Started with fried Okra. Brisket had no fat (aka flavor) sliced too thin that let it dry out. Pulled pork was served fight out of the US Foods plastic bag - I sat at the counter and watched it happen. No notable smoke flavor in either meat. Mac&Cheese had absolutely no flavor - like straight out of the bulk foods container. Oh, green beans were good - not made there fresh. Okra was undercooked - how do you mess up fried okra - half was still mostly raw. Service was great. I'd skip this one if you really like BBQ. read more

My co-worker loves this place so he took me there for lunch since I'd never been. Overall, I found it just ok. We ordered the wings without sauce, extra crispy, so that we could try a variety of sauces. The wings were really good and honestly, the rub was tasty and didn't need any sauce at all. I had the smoked turkey with sweet potato and baked beans. The sweet potato was complete mush- do not order. The beans were good. The turkey was ok but I wouldn't order it again. You know I havent been here in awhile but we thought we would give it a try on fathers day. We ordered on line and I was like hmmmmm.....says 18 minutes. They must not be busy. SO my wife went down to get it and it said it would be ready at 6:14. Cool .....Nope she was there until 6:55!!! My wife said that the staff was friendly but still had to wait over 1/2 hour after quoted time to get the meal. Got home and it was decent ... Mac and cheese had pepper in it so there goes feeding the toddlers that for dinner so wasted side. Bread was soggy not really toasted...but the biggest kicker was the brisket. Brisket is supposed to be cut the against the grain if not then it is just a chunk of garbage to chew. I should have kept pictures but alas.... SO long story short if you want to spend $52 .. we got the Bonos Feast. Order # 2260...on a dinner dont go here. I really do love this place. They have never let me down. The St. Louis ribs are deliciously meaty and tender. The sausages are plump and spicy. The brisket usually winds up on my plate too and I could eat 4lbs of it. I do have my favorite sauces, and I'm sure you will as well. There are a few bbq places in the area but I keep coming back to this one again and again. Their fried okra is really good too. The place is classic, southern-style welcoming and the staff is super attentive and all over it when it comes to getting you what you need to beer to wash it all down. The smells are so worth it and the variety of offerings requires additional visits. TRY THE RIBS! They are amazing and so flavor-packed! Wings- yup the same.
