I'm so disappointed and sad as I write this. After nearly a decade of being loyal customers, it seems things have changed. As background, this is a place we sent family and friend to. This is a place where I'd bring in boxes of cookies to thank them for their great work. They'd go out of their way for us. It was 'our shop.' Sadly we brought our vehicle into 'our shop' this weekend and it was a disaster. The usually kind brothers/ sons at the front were horrible to us. Rude, short, and demeaning. They overcharged us (first time in 10 years!)... I've always walked in with total confidence knowing that we're in good hands. Maybe that trust blinded me, because we just got priced gouged in the middle of a global pandemic :( Their communication has also fallen off the map. People who used to let you know what's going on with your vehicle didn't even bother letting us know they'd be locking our car in the lot overnight. When asked about why they didn't mention it, the response was that that's how it is... which misses the point entirely. Devastated to have to find a new place :( read more

Big John's is one of the best places for your auto needs! i have been coming back and forth to Big Johns so i can get info, quotes, and finally set an appt for Magnaflow exhausts on my 2012 Camaro. they were always helpful, whoever was there at the counter always gave us whatever info we needed, answered all our questions, and made us feel welcomed to their work. we ordred the mufflers on monday, and on wednesday got a call saying they are in, and i asked if i could bring it in today (wednesday) and they said ya bring it down it should take about 3 hours..no problem there at all!! the service is great here great location great prices all arond wonderful! will return! read more

There was a leak coming from the timing chain cover. The dealership quoted a mega price. Big John quoted half the price. The shop has the policy of first come first serve, and we had to wait a couple of days to get the car in. Once in, it was about 5 hours. We were very pleased, with the results. So today I was sent over here from Valencia car wash because Valencia car wash damaged my cars tire and refused to pay for it. So at this point I'm a little frustrated. I told the big johns employee who is one of the brothers who owns this business to go ahead and put the damn tire on. Out of nowhere he snapped and started to cuss me out and was treating me like a child. He must of thought I was attacking him but in any means I was not I was upset with the Valencia car wash manager. As a customer I shouldn't have been treated this way. 5 stars is not enough for these guys. Had to make a trip back in because my air compressor for my air bags showed a leak in the system. Steve O took a look and couldn't find a leak anywhere. But he didn't just stop there, he added a manual valve for me to be able to override the compressor if needed and still use the airbags. Turns out I just needed to update my app on my phone (damn technology). As I walked in behind Big Josh to pay for the services, he turned and said I didn't owe them anything. Wow!!!! These guys saved my hinny! I was traveling with my kids from disneyland and my Jeep SRT lost a tire. Well for those of your not familiar these vehicles have run flats for up to 50 miles and no spare tire. Because this cause has high performance tires they are pricy. I used my yelp app and made it to Big John's and they were AWESOME ! 4 new tires (because we needed 3 for sure) balanced, front in alligned for a portion of what it could have cost me. I went to Big John's because Mini Valencia (right next door) told me I had after market tires, and that they could not help me remove my wheel locks (lost key). Big John's was busy, but they acknowledged my problem and advised me of the wait. After inspecting my wheels, I was told that even if I had after market tires, I still had my original wheel locks from Mini. Instead of just shoving me back to Mini, I was provided with other options (probably predicting Mini wouldn't deliver). I appreciate that they took the time to check on my car and gave me correct information. Their direction was enough for me to solve the problem on my own. I had an ongoing issue with a rear tire going flat but it was a slow leak so I would periodically put air in. Finally, it got bad enough that I took it to my dealership. They told me there was a nail on the side of the tire that couldn't be fixed. I would need a new tire at a cost of $150+ and wait a day. I thought there had to be a better deal so I was recommended to try John's. They listened and ordered a tire same day for me. I leave the car with them and get a phone call later that day that the original tire WAS fixable. "Come on over and pick up your car. That will be $20". I come over and I notice how lively and helpful the guys at the front desk are. They really enjoy the work and treating their employees well. Says a lot right there. I've been going here for years, and used to rate Big John's five stars, but now I'd give them ZERO STARS. It seems that Big John is not running the place any longer, so it's left to Little John and friends to run the show, and my last two experiences here have been absolutely garbage. My most recent visit Big Johns was to get them to fix a vibration issue on my van, change the oil, filter, and oil/sump pan and plug, then find/fix an AC gas leak. I dropped the van off at 07:30 on Friday morning (thinking first come first serve, since they don't do appointments) and after having the van for a FULL WEEK (clearly they just kept bumping my van back in the queue to fix their friends trucks, or higher value jobs), the following Friday, all that had been done was the wheels has been balanced, and I was given a list of other issues that they found, but weren't interested in fixing, or couldn't. Their customer service is also atrocious. I drove the van away, and still have exactly the same vibration issue, the passenger seat covered in oil stains from their mechanics, and now a strange noise that sounds like an engine vacuum pipe leaking that I'll have to find and fix myself. To be fair, I called little john and told him, and he did offer to clean the seat, but after this experience, I don't want to take it back there. I like little John and his team on the front of the shop, but I'm sorry to say that I will never use this place again. It's a shame because they used to be great. I just hope they read this and try to improve. read more

Best tire place!! Their mechanics are very knowledgeable. They never try to get you to buy anything that is not recommended or necessary. It is the only place my husband lets me take our cars and trucks to. We have been customers for over 13 years. They are usually very busy so we just do a drop off now and they have it finished by the end of the day. If we need it rushed they will do it right on the spot. They warranty all their work and do free rotations and repairs if you buy tires from them. Which I actually have to call and do right now. I can't express how happy I am that I found these guys over a decade ago!! It's really rare that you find a mechanic that you can trust. As just one example, I brought in my Hyundai Elantra three separate times, being sure that I needed front brakes, simply due to the mileage (50K, 75K, then 100K). Each time, after measuring them, they came back with: "you're fine...I wouldn't change them if I was you." Finally, at 115K, they said, "Yep, now they're ready to be changed." Okay...how many mechanics do you know that would pass up three different chances to take your money?? Unheard of nowadays! There are several other examples of similar experiences, where I was willing, and expecting, to pay a hefty bill for services, but they said they weren't necessary yet. So...when they say I need some work done, I don't question it!! My take on these guys is that they're really just serious car geeks that love doing what they're doing, and are just trying to provide you quality car for the cars and trucks that they're passionate about! Big John's makes car repairs not suck! All the guys are very good natured + friendly. The shop has a neat collectors garage/man-cave vibe yet is still totally welcoming for women to feel comfortable in with a cute seating area + coffee bar too. Called for an estimate on brakes + rotors, received a clear answer on the price (they even offered to look at it first, free of charge, just in case there were additional repairs needed). Took it in 30 mins later without an appt + it was ready for pickup in under 2hrs. Hands down the best place to take your car/truck/suv in the SCV. Somehow they make you leave feeling accomplished even tho they did all the work. read more
