Big John's is awesome! They are currently getting their lobby remodeled so it's a little chaotic but the quality and customer service is on point. I have a lifted Toyota Tacoma that needed some side steps. I had no idea what I wanted but John Jr. recommended the NFabs which came out great! Nate installed the steps and made sure everything was perfect. I had also ordered a Mickey Thompson center cap and Nate installed that to for me too. There was an issue with one of the screws so he took the extra time to make it work and to do it right. I really appreciate the attention to detail. I brought two new tires for my Bmw from these guys when they put the tires on, turns out they switched the back and front bolts and gave the car back. it was modified and had different bolts for the front tires and the back. when i picked it up the bolts started eating into each other when i was driving and by the time i got to where i was going the car had started making noises like the metal was grinding on each other. So I pulled over and the bolts, brakes bars, rotors everything was a mess I couldn't even drive another mile. I towed the car to another mechanic who was close by. Got a lot of new stuff to be replaced and costed me a tonne of money. When it was done I went back to John's explained what had happened I wasn't even requesting for a refund or nothing but we basically got into a shouting match with them telling me they know what they are doing and wouldn't even own up to this! I only brought my car here cz it was right across from my home. I regret that every day. That bmw was never the same after how they messed it up till I sold it! read more

I brought my wife's car in due to a screw in the tire. They took out the screw and found that it wasn't leaking. They didn't charge and sent me home with a peace of mind. Had Big Johns replace the front brakes on my car. They said I needed new tires, not so sure I really did but went ahead with the replacements. When I went to rotate the tires I found they had massively over torqued the wheel lug nuts. I could barely remove the lug nuts with a cheater bar. The spec is 76 ft-lbs. This tells me they just used the air impact gun to tighten and didn't actually use a torque wrench. I will not be back as this is a failure to do a simple task of tightening bolts to a torque value. read more

Had 2 nails in 2 different tires. Called and was quoted $20 for tire patching, ended up paying $25 since the nails went all the way through. Regardless, was happy to pay for the great service and experience. Feels like a more professional body shop as opposed to a small hole in the wall place. The man at the front, I think his name was Joshua, was so kind, patient, and helpful. He told me it would take about 30 minutes, which it did. I also asked to see the nails out of curiosity since I've had so many nails in my tires lately. He asked the repair man to bring them out to me, and he event took the time to inspect them and explain that they are probably construction nails. Highly recommend this place for all your car tire needs! read more

I just left Big John and wow was i impressed. I needed a headlight changed on a Jeep Cherokee and they were able to do it in 15 minutes as opposed to the 2 hrs I had been warned about. It cost me a fraction of the cost. They are honest and really try to help the customer. read more

If i could give a negative star score i would for the good of all future customers . Called Friday to discuss the purchase of a set of 5 wheels worth a couple of thousands dollars . Josh asked if i could come in Monday , i said i worked Monday - Friday . I said i'd come in today Saturday . Got in line , while in line Josh asked each person what we were in for , 3 people were served in front of me , ever though i'd arrived before them , No big deal I they could be in and out , i'd appreciate not having the longer wait .... Got to me , started talking about the wheels and the company that had REFERRED me to Big John's , Josh said "he really didn't want to work with me on this even though they're a dealer for this brand of wheel . I took 1 moment to compose an answer to Josh's comments . He just said , "that's it , i'm not doing" this and then said "i'm eating my lunch" walking away , Josh could use missing a few dozen lunches by the way. I turned to face the customers in the waiting room , they all had a look of shock on their faces when i walked out . The only thing to match Josh's rudeness is his lack of care for his staff and customers . We're in the middle of a pandemic and this clown is not wearing a mask and openly coughing at the counter , waiting on young and old alike . With customer service in SCV like this , i struggle to understand how this appalling person can be allowed to be a face to its customers , and by extension how a place run like this can stay in business , except for the fact that they believe they're the only place in this town and customers have to take it . I implore all customers to boycott Big John's until this gentlemen is fired and this company understand the care and wellbeing of customers i the number 1 priority going forward . Amazing ! I went there today to replace all 5 tires on my Jeep. Everyone is working so hard and the place is so busy but immediately I was helped and they told me my tires would be ready in one hour . I get a call about 15 minutes later from John and he says "you only need 4 tires you have one tire that's perfect for your spare" What ????? That doesn't happen ?? They proceeded to figure out the best way to remove the tires and after the first one was done they removed the rest with ease. Not too long ago I made an appointment with Big Johns Performance to get some struts replaced on a vehicle. We agreed on a price and a day to come by and have the work done. I dropped it off in the morning. I called mid afternoon to follow up and they hadn't gotten to it because they were super busy. I was dropped off at the end of the day only to find out they weren't able to do any of the work I needed to have done. The hassle of coordinating to be without a vehicle for the day wasn't taken into consideration and was an extreme inconvenience to the customer I think the big thing for me here is to not take on the work unless you know you can do it. read more

Had shocks installed. They couldn't align the truck and it pulled to the right. They actually said the computer on the vehicle needed a "zero point calibration" or "steering angle reset" done at the dealer. Took it to the dealer, dealer said sure, no problem. After they drove it they said, you've got bigger problems cause Big Johns left your tie rods dangerously loose. We suggest you have them reinspect everything, we won't touch it cause we can't tell at this point if they did anything correctly. I was extremely disappointed, but I wasn't going to have them touch my vehicle again. Went to a reputable shop and they inspected and fixed all of Big John's errors. Truck drives straight now. I typically try and support local businesses, but this one is off my list for good. read more

Normally awesome service but my last two interactions were bad. I paid for alignment & new tires but when the tires were shot after 7,000 miles they said that's because they hadn't adjusted the camber. Their website allows you to request a price quote and you get an email saying they will respond within 48 hours but they admit they don't see or respond to the messages. I phoned and got a price for my tires $450 higher than a competitor. I took my business elsewhere. read more

The worst experience I've ever had at a tire shop. These guys are the biggest male chauvinists I've ever met. Them being right is more important than a customers business. Our discussion turned into a yelling match. All I wanted was my tires balanced after they had it for two days but no I was wrong for asking for more services. I brought in my car on Tuesday morning and they fixed it up by the afternoon. Unfortunately, a persistent noise that my Beetle made remained (through no fault of theirs, my Beetle is just uncooperative sometimes). I brought it in again today and they checked it out, tinkered here, tinkered there, removed broken parts from underneath the car and bam, no noise. Phew! And they didn't charge me. Double phew! We were sold cheap tires for a high price. All four tires cracked on the sides in less than one year. We constantly had to put air in them. When we took them back to the shop they told us not to worry. That it was no big deal and that they wouldn't pop on us. The second time we went back concerned that there were more cracks. The owner Robert said he would have to sell us new tires same ones but more expensive this time. He would then send the messed up tires he sold to us back to the manufacturer and see if they will decide if they could give us a credit, maybe. I will not do business there again and definitely don't recommend anyone else to. read more

UNPROFESSIONAL. Came here a few weeks ago for a 2/3 inch drop kit on my GMC Yukon Denali. They asked for a $200 deposit and said "We will call you to schedule an appointment". Fast forward 10 days. I finally get a call from Big John's. I brought my truck in the following morning at 730 AM. I was assured my truck was 1st up and it would be ready by 2PM. After not hearing from Big John's all day, I took an UBER to their shop at 530 PM. My truck was parked in the exact same parking spot. Drop kit installed? Nope! I walked in the office and they said "Oh yeah we were about to call you". Sure you were... What they were gonna do was leave my expensive SUV (with brand new wheels and tires) parked outside (overnight) in their unsecured parking lot. I asked for my $200 back which they declined to return. To top it off, I stood there and listened to a friend of one of the employees talk about how he showed up at noon and got a lift kit installed on his truck the same day. I do not recommend this place for any vehicle repairs. As others have said, this place has no respect for a customers money, time or personal property UNLESS you are related to or friends with the owners/employees of this shop. read more
