I cannot recommend CalChrome Wheel highly enough! I had a crack on the inside of my wheel, meaning my tire wouldn't hold air. I thought my only option was to invest $1000+++ to get new wheels. Having a 10 year old car with well over 100K miles, not really a good use of money. Enter John and his team! They got me in right away, even gave me a loaner wheel while they repaired mine. My husband brought his rim to be repaired granted this was back in 2021. During this time we were moving and remember a Bob who worked there that helped us. Of course, he no longer works there. My husband called Bob to check on his rim and mentioned he would like to get the powder coating done. After sometime, he did check in again and was told the rim was there. Fast forward, yes it was our fault we did not pick up the rim and tire, I called to check in so that we could pick it up. I spoke with Allison who assured me she would call back after sending her a photo of the Tim and tire since invoices for that year were not accessible at that time. I did not get a phone call back. I called again next day and spoke with John, who at that time was happy to assist and said that he would mention it to Allison and get a call back. No call back was made. I called again the next day and spoke with John whom I assumed knew it was me calling in regards to the rim and tire. As I was asking him, he nonchalantly said "yea, we don't have it here" and I said we never picked it up and know it was repaired there and then in an accusing tone asked "how do we know you don't have it? How do you know after a yr and a half that we have it?" I mentioned we literally only have 3 rims and my husband has his stock on his car. He really didn't want to hear it, it was like a not my problem, it's yours type of person. The tone was what really got me worked up to share this review. Above all he was so condescending and basically accused me of lying because they no longer have it. I am so sad that this is how they would talk to someone who gave them business (yea it may not have been much but I do share my reviews with other people) and didn't even try to assist in anyway. I get it you don't have it but I've worked in lots of places with customer service and you could've assured you did everything you could to try to find it. The my husbands rims were not cheap so that's why we know exactly where we left it. Also, you don't talk to customers that way so John must own this place. However, that wasn't the deal instead accused me of lying. In addition, it was the fact that John who sounded entitled over the phone that really threw me off. So here is a review for you all, that's great give them business because who am I? But before you do, I would think more than twice before giving your business over to Calchrome. I don't know if they'll post this review. Sadly have to give a star to post. Here's to trying to sharing an opinion which I hardly ever do but when I do, it's worth something. I tried to call back but went straight to voicemail and you call that business. Hmmm? I would review the work that was done but I can not since we don't have the rim that we brought for repair. @calchrome promised me they could "protect" my wheels. 3 months at their shop and 2k later i get my wheels back and they are scratched from their polishing practices, coating is peeling off of spokes, and chipping. Tried to talk to their team but no one was willing to do anything about it. 4 months later after installing them and the whole coating is peeling. CalChrome 24840 Avenue Rockefeller Valencia, California 91355 Back in July, I was looking to replace my old tires. Since Costco totally destroyed the finish on my Crz wheels- I made an appointment online at Big O in Glendale, and when I get there the manager tells me he's got no record of my appointment. I reach for my phone, and I show him the screenshot just before I exit. Next I stop at Just tires, and I mention my concerns about the powder coating on my trucks wheels- he wants to crimp some old school weights on the outside of my wheels. I bail. I call Bob at Cal Chrome, I make an appointment for four white wall tires, I show up. They remove my old tires, and they mount and they balance my new tires. I had to go elsewhere for an alignment. Three complaints: 1) I was there early for my appointment, but they were late; 2) the blue protective coating was left on the tires- I had to remove it myself; 3) while I was removing the blue protective coating- I noticed that there was some areas where the protective coating was scored. I ended up having to scrub quite a bit to get the whitewalls white. I don't know, is this "do it yourself" a normal thing with whitewalls? Anyway, just some "food for thought." Below is my initial review Here's another episode regarding my 1989 Toyota Pickup, spoiler alert, this one has a happy ending. No, unfortunately, not that kind of happy ending. (Curious about episode 1? See my Earl Scheib Next Generation review.) I called a few powder coating places before calling CalChrome, but most of them, while "cheaper," required me to remove the tires from the wheels, in order to powder coat them. So, how the hell am I going to do that? After a few minutes of creative thinking, oh, rent a truck, whip out the hydraulic jack and the jack stands, loosen the lug nuts, jack up the truck, place the stands under the truck, lower the truck onto the stands, remove the wheels, transport them to the nearest tire shop, place the separated tires and wheels back in the rental truck, take the tires back to my apartment, transport the wheels to the powder coating place, and then- return the rental truck. And then, when the wheels are ready, reverse and repeat the process. WTF? After talking on the phone to Bob over at CalChrome, I found that they'd be willing to loan me a set of wheels and tires to use while they worked their magic on my 1989 factory wheels. Well, Hells Bells. I dropped by CalChrome, on May 15, 2020 AM. And, as Bob had promised, they removed my tired silver steel wheels/tires and slapped on some loaners; which, by the way, had me wondering should they be stolen, how I was going to explain to AAA that they needed to replace them? I got a call from Bob on May 21, 2020 AM, I was expecting that he was going to tell me that the wheels were too far gone...but he had just called me to advise me that the wheels were ready to go. I picked them up on Fri. May 22, 2020 AM. Thinking about either powder coating, or chroming? I read their reviews. I had a positive experience. And, I've got an old 1992 Lexus SC300 with some heavily oxidized chrome wheels that if I cannot bring back to life via elbow grease- I plan to have Bob at CalChrome either: re chrome, or powder coat them, soon. The most complete shop when it comes to wheels and tires! I went to Cali Chrome with less than perfect tires to be mounted on near perfect new wheels. I wanted Road Force Balancing to be performed since this was a new setup and wanted to achieve the best balanced wheels. Bob and John gave me a brief tour of the shop, and their resources for mounting and speed balancing equipment is phenomenal. They also have a couple Hunter machines to perform Road Balancing with. Not only did the machine provide you info on wheel runout & pound force imperfections of the wheel setup, but also tells you where to place wheels for the optimum setup to avoid vibrations or directional pulls when driving. I'm still entertaining a more custom wheel finish (service that Cali Chrome is infamous for) on these wheels, so I'll definitely be back to have John and Crew help me out (more to come...)! read more

In June of 2022 I took my brand new vehicle to John and the Cal-Chrome crew. I was quoted on the job by John and the price was agreed upon. They did the job and made all four of my wheels the blue that I had asked. During this time I was told multiple times that the wheels wouldn't flake and the only way that would happen is if I "hit a curb". All was well and I picked the car up. Fast forward to February 17th, 2023 (barely 9 months). Now, two different wheels are flaking off. Naturally disappointed after paying good money for this service I called the shop. Once I got John on the phone he was short tempered, rude, "this is not my problem attitude" and at one point he tried to turn it around on me like I was being rude when it was him the whole time. After he calmed he eventually provided a number for me to text pics - I texted him the same day within 45 minutes of the call. 4 hours later - still no call or response. I called back and spoke to John again and without even acknowledging the pics at all he wanted to know if I could bring the car to his new shop for them to look at. I asked him what the plan was and just like before when I asked him a question he became very rude and actually tried to turn it around on me again when he was the one being rude. He then said he would call me tomorrow and we could start over?????? I said what does that mean? That was the end of the call. I sent an email that night (2/20/23) to sales@calchrome.com expressing my concern and asking for help. The next morning I received an email response at 8:20am telling me to come to the shop at 10:30am. I was already at work and due to the fact I was given less than a 2 hour notice there was no way I could just leave work and go there. I then received another email at 8:49am and 11:20am. Once again I was already at work and I could not just leave and go there. That is why I had expressed to make an appt the day before. Fast forward now to the end of the day I called the shop at approx 2:30pm and spoke to John. He immediately said he did not have time to talk to me today, he had a baseball game to go to tonight and he would call me tomorrow and the call disconnected. I then called back letting the receptionist know I was getting the run around and I was trying to be nice but John was being rude again. She said something I couldn't understand and hung up on me. As a paying customer who went to Cal Chrome because I trusted them I am blown away at how I am being treated. It also appears that based on other reviews I am not the only one this is happening too. I have attached pics below to share what is happening and the worst part is after all of this it hasn't even been acknowledged once that there is an issue. This makes me sad and hurts my heart to know they would do this to a customer and a person. I just want my wheels to be what I paid for them to be. CalChrome, please stand by your promise. read more

These guys completely screwed up my Gwagon parts we sent down there to get black chromed. They came back splotchy and look horrible. I don't think they actually re-chromed the parts, I think they just sprayed some product over the top to darken the existing chrome. We contacted CalChrome and they won't do anything, even though they agreed with the pictures that it did not look right. The cost to remove the parts and ship them down and ship them back was expensive, now I have a mess on my hands. Stay away from these guys, their pictures on their website are just that.......pictures, your chrome will not look anything like their pictures. What a nightmare. read more

TLDR: these guys don't just do wheels, they are skilled and caring mechanics too! The U-haul I rented had a warning light go on indicating brake issues, not good! I contacted U-Haul roadside assistance and in less than 30 minutes CalChrome was on the scene! The mechanic was friendly, thorough, and understood I needed to get going fast so I could finish my move. Rather than waiting around for a part, a second CalChrome car showed up to deliver the parts needed and get everything working. The mechanic even took it for a quick test drive (I appreciate that because working brakes are pretty important and I didn't want to find any surprises when I got back on the highway). Well the only surprise was the friendly follow up call where they made sure I got to my new home ok. I could not have asked for better service! read more

I just bought a new car and the pretty version ($$$) on the showroom floor had the most gorgeous wheels on it. They were a $2,500 option. My sales guy secretly told me that I could have my wheels done for less if I go to the place that did them. So I made a call to California Chrome and scheduled a appointment. It was a bit of a drive for me but once I arrived to the showroom my sales guy greated me and guided me through the options. It was going to be about $1,000 so that's a $1,500 savings! They dropped me off at a car rental facility they had a deal with. 5 days later I went to pick up my car... soooo pretty!! Couldn't be any happier!!! If anyone needs powder coating work done, this is the place. Super fast turn around time. Nick came by my office in Santa Monica on Thursday around noon with loaner wheels for me and returned the following Monday with my newly powder coated wheels. I recently bought a new car with 20" wheels and Pirelli Run Flats. And of course like most folks, I was worried that I might get back fake after market wheels and no run flats. So I started taking pictures of of what I had before Nick took them. Even down to using a quarter as an indicator marker for tire tread depth. This one star is not for the work. This is for the extremely childish, ignorant and disrespectful behavior of the owner, John. I recently paid calchorme $1190 to install 4 trim pieces onto my Jag's BBS rims. When I initially got the quote from John, it was roughly $900. By the time he was finished - a week after I was told to expect the wheels to be done - the bill was $1190. High, but I expected it. Then, when the wheels were brought back to me to be placed on my car, the installer told me there was another $200 to pay because of work they did on the rim. My scam alarm went off. When I paid calchrome, before they started any work on the wheels, I specifically asked if the payment covers EVERYTHING. John emphatically said yes. Now there's an additional $200? So, here's why there's a one star. When the installer told me about the $200, I immediately called John to ask about the additional charge. He went into an explanation about sanding on the wheel they had to do. John - when I paid you the first time, it's expected that that cost was already built in. Do you understand that? So, after his rambling explanation, I told him "I'm not cool with that." I was about to offer to split the extra cost, even though I felt he was trying to rip me off. But before I could say another word, he flew into a tantrum and says 'you know what... just forget it. We're done. Bye" and hung up. What a silly, angry, petulant, and foolish thing to do to a customer who happily paid you. When he did this, I had the phone on speaker, so the installer, Nick, heard the whole thing. He even looked surprised. John, I don't want this review to hurt your business. I doubt it could. You're clearly successful and trusted. But when you think you can talk to customers the way you talked to me without paying a price, you're wrong. Let me advise you to get some anger management counseling to help get control of that big mouth of yours... before it costs you a lot more than a few stars on Google, Amazon, Yelp and Facebook review boards. read more

Short Review: They took 11 weeks to chrome 4 wheel caps and a fuel door when I was originally quoted 3 weeks. They lost one of my parts in the tank and gave me back one that was not even the same part and not chromed like I had paid for. They etched their name in the back of my parts and the finish was stained and chipping. The Whole Story: I recently purchased a 1997 Dodge Viper GTS and sent the fuel door components and wheel caps to Calchrome to have them chromed because the factory finish was wearing. I had dropped off my fuel door assembly and 4 wheel center caps on May 10, 2016 and was quoted 3 weeks lead time and was charged $436 up front. I then waited 5 weeks for them to call me and say that they have lost the roller for the fuel door in the tank! My car was non-drivable for 11 weeks as Calchrome searched online to replace the lost part. After the 11th week my parts were ready to be picked up. At this point I just wanted to get my parts and get out of there. After receiving my parts I noticed that the roller they gave me was plastic and not steel like the OEM part that I had dropped off. I had also paid for that part to be chromed which they did not do. So I asked nicely for a partial refund for the non-chromed part and there was no answer. After coming home I looked over my parts more carefully and that's when I noticed some problems. First off there were some stains on the wheel caps that should have been polished out before I picked up the parts. Then there were some small crevasses that were not coated properly. Finally the worst of it all was that I had some chipping on the caps that was very noticeable. Another side item was that they had etched their name "CCW" on the back of all my center caps! My last review and complaint to the Better Business Bureau prompted a response from this company saying that they would finally do the work they were initially hired for but did not. On 12/12/14 via the Better Business Bureau, they had stated they would in fact now (after my complaints and reviews) do the intended work without making me pay. I accepted their offer and told them to call me to set up an appointment to get it done, as they obviously have my phone number and address. Today is 4/22/15 and I still have not heard from them. Ordered an OEM wheel to replace one of mine which was bent due to an unpleasant encounter with a pothole.... The wheel came at a 50% discount over dealer price. I was told it would take a week to get it chromed and given the option to come in to have it installed on-site. I opted to get it shipped. Two days after I placed the order the wheel was already at my door: 5 days early, it was the correct product and the chrome was great...what else is there to say? Full 5 stars. read more
