That said, instead of trying something new, I went with one of my longtime favorites that's still on the menu. It used to be called "The Salad We Had at Gail's House," but now it's the Beacon Sirloin Salad--a leafy green salad topped with grilled sirloin, crumbled bleu cheese, red and green onions, walnuts, dried cranberries, and their homemade bleu cheese vinaigrette. We also ordered the spinach and artichoke dip as an appetizer along with some cheesy bread. The entire meal did not disappoint. Our server (I regret not catching his name) was especially outstanding this time. He highly recommended the Basque-style cheesecake for dessert, and we were even treated to it complimentary for my birthday. I usually go for anything chocolate, but I'm so glad I followed his recommendation--it was excellent. I just really enjoy the overall vibe at Beacon Hill.
