I unfortunately have to update my review since the "broken AC" still hasn't been fixed. It's a heatwave outside and they have their doors open. It's incredibly humid in the restaurant with stagnant, hot air. I don't know how the kitchen staff handles it. I won't be back or giving them my business until the air conditioner is turned back on. I don't believe it's truly broken, I just think they're sadly too cheap to run it since yes, it is a hefty expense. Sad for the customers, sad for the employees. It's miserable trying to eat here inside, never mind outside, during this entire hot summer/ongoing heat wave. We went to this Four Tunas in Oside and it's our new favorite place. The Ceviche tower is literally the BEST ceviche you'll ever try! It would easily feed 4 people as an appetizer but 2 of us ate it as a main course and were stuffed. The guys that work there are very friendly and eager to make sure we were happy with everything. The complimentary chips and salsa (as well as the ceviche) were so fresh. They run specials every day and we're coming back for the happy hours. We went to Four Tunas for dinner around 6pm and loved it!! No wait, super friendly service and such a fun, casual atmosphere. We sat outside at one of the picnic tables and it had a really relaxed, laid-back vibe. The STAR was definitely the ahi tuna appetizer. SO GOOD! The tuna was incredibly fresh with avocado, cucumber and red onion, and every bite was perfectly seasoned. It had a little kick for someone like me who normally doesn't do spicy, but apparently that didn't stop me because I was fighting Nuzz for the last piece We got chips with it too and they were perfectly crunchy. I got two fried fish tacos and loved them! The fish was lightly fried and almost airy, not heavy or greasy at all. Exactly what I wanted in a fish taco! Nuzz got grilled fish, spicy octopus and the Mar y Tierra with steak and shrimp. He loved all three, although the octopus definitely brought the heat! Our server was great too. I asked for a ginger ale, which they don't have, and he actually offered to run to 7-Eleven to get me one! Obviously I wasn't going to let him do that but seriously, how sweet?! My sister ordered the same but with a shrimp tostada. Overall the food was good. The margarita overall was ok. Presentation was good. It did taste way too spicy and heavy on the alcohol, half the glass had ice, I didn't finish it. Overall, it was a okay experience. I had an unusual encounter with my waitress . Have been wanting to try Four Tunas for a while. Stopped by on a Tuesday afternoon to order a couple tacos to go. It's a sit down restaurant and bar, with outside seating. Ordered a grilled fish taco and Mar Y Tierra (surf & turf with beef/shrimp). The service was great. Got both red and green salsa, the green was hot and delicious. The grilled fish taco was SO good, would order again. The other taco was more turf than surf, maybe 2 shrimp at the most. For the price, it was just ok. My family dined here on a Saturday night to celebrate two birthdays. I had called ahead to make a reservation, but upon arrival, it seems that there was a a lack of communication between the person I spoke with on the phone and the server working there. It didn't seem like the server anticipated our group being there. However, he got us seated quickly. Keep in mind that the restaurant is fairly small, and there were 8 of us, so he had to move two tables together. Luckily, there were no other large groups there when we went, otherwise it wouldn't have worked out with the seating. We noticed after being seated that there was only one server working, which we found odd for a Saturday evening. He was working hard, running around the whole evening, and made sure we had everything we needed. The food was delicious and so fresh tasting. We had the complimentary chips and salsa to start, and also ordered the calamari as an appetizer. The calamari was perfectly crispy without being greasy, and the aioli to go with it was so creamy and yummy. For our entrees, most of us ordered the surf and turf fajitas and we absolutely loved them. The skirt steak was juicy and flavorful and the shrimp and bell peppers were delicious and perfectly cooked. The sides include rice, beans and grilled veggies, as well as corn or flour tortillas. I opted for corn tortillas and noticed they broke apart pretty easily. My favorite dishes of the night were dessert -- we got to try the chocoflan and fried ice cream as complimentary birthday desserts. The chocoflan was moist, sweet without being overpoweringly sweet, and surprisingly light. I would go back just to have the chocoflan again. I hope that management will be more mindful of staffing in the future, as that was the only thing that needed improvement. The restaurant is located at a strip mall near Oceanside. We were seated right away as there not a a lot of customers. Weirdly they didn't have the AC on even though it was hot during the day. We ordered a bunch of tacos and burritos. They all tasted fine although the tortillas were hard. The tuna burrito came with bacon and potatoes which gave a nice texture. I was craving really good Mexican ceviche and this place delivered. As you enter this establishment you will see plenty of seating both outdoor and indoors. This place is also very clean and well kept. We sat at the countertop and we were immediately greeted and served chips and salsa along with a tasting of their consume (broth) . The broth alone was 10/10. Service was great and the gentleman who assisted us was very attentive. I forgot to ask his name but he stayed the concept of the restaurant was to serve Baja Cali style seafood. Aaaand that he did! I got a shrimp taco 10/10 along with a fish battered taco 8/10 and a tostada mixta 100/10. This tostada ended up being my favorite. The fish was well marinated in citrus which is what normally makes a good ceviche. I will add that they mastered the tostada at this place. At no point did my tostada break or became soggy with all the weight and the lime juice of the ceviche. Every bite I took the tostada was crunchy and still holding on strong for the ceviche. My friend who is a food scientist suggested this place. Since we were on a foodie road trip, and one of the ladies eats seafood, and the rest of us wanted Mexican, I guess this was the happening place. Seems the batter lacked seasoning. The 2 grilled fish taco meat expectation but the tortilla broke apart when eating. The grill fish didn't wow me other than it was salted correctly. The service was disappointing. Originally I gave a pass as there were three large parties and only one server, had to wait to be seated for 10 minutes. Another server came in but it somehow got worse. It took another 10 minutes to bring menu and water. After ordering it took 30 min to get our food. I didn't like how it was a struggle to get our waiters attention because they were busy socializing with people at the bar. We came in at 12 but didn't leave till 1:15. The 7 mares soup was packed with tons of fish, shrimp and a huge deep fried white fish fillet, which was so good! I couldn't finish the soup myself and packed the rest to go. The cocktail has a wonderful balance of the cocktail sauce/juice in it and actually forgot the octopus in ours but later brought out on the side a separate portion of the octopus for us. Meanwhile, other tables that arrived after us seemed to get plenty of attention, which made us feel completely overlooked. For a first impression, this was rough. Service sets the tone, and this felt disorganized at best and dismissive at worst. We ended up frustrated instead of relaxed, which is the opposite of what you want when dining out with family. We ordered the fish tacos, arranchera taco ( I think it's the only non seafood protein on menu) and the surf and tried burrito. Everything was good, I think stand out for me was the fried fish tacos and surf and turf were great. We also ordered the shrimp ceviche which was generously portioned. We enjoyed our time there. We also ordered the clam chowder in bread bowl on menu and it was not a hit with anyone in the group and also did not come in a bread bowl.
