I bought a pool and had a good experience. They have good treasure hunt items. They also have great hot sauces.

This is not a very big Big Lots. It had a much smaller selection that most of the Big Lots I've been to and I couldn't find some of the merchandise that I'm used to finding in Big Lots stores. I encountered two employees and both were very nice and helpful. The store is just lacking in merchandise. The parking lot is great though. I was able to park right in front, but even if I couldn't have there would have been plenty of other places to park. You might want to use your GPS to come here because it's right at a major intersection next to the freeway so if you miss your turn you probably have to go aways before you can double back, especially since the frontage road is only one way. I only ended up buying two things in here which is very unlike me in a Big Lots. read more

Standard Big Lots, however staff was very friendly and courteous. Greeted us as we entered and offered their name if we needed help. Good place to shop for furniture which is what we were doing for our son's new home. I would recommend this Big Lots as one of the nicer I have been in. read more

I would call this more of a Little Lots than a Big Lots. I went, under orders from the Lady, looking for a replacement deck umbrella. So, I browsed the store, taking photos of the various ones and showed them to her later. Picked. I went back and the had no problem looking to see if they had more of a different item in stock, just in case. It is not a fancy place, and I did find a few other things that were big savings that we needed, but a lot (no pun) were priced around discount store prices. I have now been several times and each time has been OK by me. It might just be my charming looks, or beard, but the people have been nice and the only time I waited in line was about a minute, during the week. read more

This place has appalling CoVid social distancing practices and compliance. I arrived at opening time and store personnel were not even finished with their stock so most of this very tiny store was blocked off with stock/merchandise. To add insult to it all, there were 2 staff members who refused to keep even 1 foot away from people. The entire store is so crowded with merchandise that within 20 minutes families in groups of 4-5+ filled every walking space available and refused to maintain ANY safe distance. If there were ever a CoVid hotspot in South Austin, this place would be an epicenter. I used to frequent this store for over 10 years. Never again will I step foot in this store due to the potential high risk contact from its own employees, the lazy approach to public safety quarantine practices and the utter disregard for shoppers safety by not having a quarantine shopping grid/layout that maintains any social distancing standards. If I had recorded my entire experience with surveillance glasses - there would have been enough evidence within my 20 minute shopping time to close them down for non-compliance to CoVid social distancing violations. It's no longer worth the risk to save a few bucks on household products, laundry detergent and health/beauty supplies to ever visit this place again. Edit: Big lots Management - no, I won't contact you in Private Message to resolve your atrocious social distancing policies. There is nothing more to say than the facts I stated above. Very poor customer service and communication both times I spoke with the key or store manager/furniture department First time costumer and purchased a Mattress online that I thought would be in a box but it wasn't and wouldn't fit in my car, the woman was very short with me and I tried to set up a pickup time but they use a 3rd party delivery service I got the number for the delivery service and scheduled a pickup for that day & they said They would call me in a little bit to set up the deliver but didn't follow up that day or the next, I texted the guy and he then set a delivery for the next day . Came to drop off payment for the delivery and saw the woman opening the store (Online hours say they open at 9) I tried to give her the envelope for payment and she looked at up and down and said "We open at 10". Waited in my car 40 minutes, went to the furniture department to give her the envelope and once again was short with me and acted like she had no clue what I was talking about... I told her I have payment for the delivery I received and she took the money. You'd think there'd be effort to communicate to new customers how they do things but I guess that was way to much. Wont be interested in spending money with Big Lots again and definitely won't come back to the William Cannon Dr store.. read more

I waited in line for 15 min!! There were 10+ of us crammed in the front of the store. Displays all in the way so I couldn't even get elbow room. They call for a back up cashier he comes out all slow. His first person had a handful of change so that took 5 min. His next customer was buying $24 worth of stuff and he pressured her into signing up for a 15% off coupon. She was not that interested but he talked her into it. Great for the store shitty for those of us waiting. After entering all her info he's like oh you already have a card. Do you really think that was the best time to be signing people up for discounts?? Like for real get the huge line of people out of the store first!!! We are in a pandemic and having us all standing there waiting for this is BULLSHIT! I won't be going back in this store which is unfortunate because I found a $700 couch I wanted to buy. I really like Big Lots stores. There's always something interesting that I've never seen before, and prices are good. Customer service is generally pretty good. Sadly, at this particular location, I had a really bad experience where the cashier ignored me when I was trying to check out. I had been there in front of her, waiting for 20 minutes because of a difficult transaction before me. When they were done, the cashier started looking at work schedules and talking to another employee instead of ringing me up. There was nobody behind me, so she could have taken 30 seconds to ring me up before moving on to whatever she needed to do. After 5 minutes of standing there I put the basket down, told her to forget about it, and started walking away. Her response was, "do you need something?" Me standing there for 25 minutes with a basket of items that haven't been paid for yet should have been a clue. I now avoid that location and go to other stores where I am not invisible. read more

I know, I know, one-starring Big Lots is attacking low-hanging fruit, but I can't help it. I'd been here once before to look around and wasn't terribly impressed. Not enough to really care enough to even bother with a review. Then this weekend happened. I was with my lady-friend and we were eating some Indian food in the same little shopping center as this place and decided to take a gander at Big Lots because, hey, it's Big Lots and sometimes they have some cool things for cheap! That was the plan anyway. Big mistake. Ha, get that? I kinda made a joke. Hilarious. Anyway, so this place is kinda trashed, there's one apathetic employee, a line with five customers in it, and pretty much everything is overpriced and terribly cheap. That's not big deal, because it's Big Lots, and that's how Big Lots is. Why the one star then? If it was just the store that was terrible, I could have cared less. Really, it's mostly the single employee. Less than worthless. She was rude and unhelpful; after waiting in line for almost five minutes, she told us that the single item we were trying to buy didn't have a price on it so we couldn't buy it. ...and then proceeded to help the next person in line. No price check or apparent concern, just kinda left us hanging. It just bothered me. Anyway fuck this place and all of it's shitty cheap Made In China baubles. I dropped $20 at Big Lots last weekend and it was kinda fun. I got two AKC dog toys (a possum & a chipmunk) that were extremely real looking. Three days later hey are missing most of their bodies, but that just means the dogs really loved them. They were $4 a piece, which might not really seem like a bargain but I did see the same toys at target for about $20 around the holidays. The other $12 was spent mostly on junk food, ginger orange snaps, a huge bag of mega M&M's in crazy colors, a bag of chips with a salior on it that said "yo ho" that I bought for my boyfriend's son who just became excepted into the Navy seals. Basically this is a good place to go if you are looking for cheap junk food that may not be stocked at your local HEB. Sometimes it's fun to look at all the things that you could buy but really don't need. read more

A few really good deals, but you need to sift through the racks to find them. I usually come here with a specific item in mind and then leave with that and a few more things. Last time I picked up a wireless mouse and keyboard combo for $25. Sounded great but we got home and the keyboard was worthless :( The mouse was great so I figured that while still a gamble, it might be worth it to exchange the pieces for another try. I carefully packaged everything up and took it back in *without the receipt* (it was an even exchange, I didn't anticipate a problem.) This *was* a problem. In a quasi rude manor the cashier informed me there was nothing at all she could do, even though we're in their 'club.' What good is the club if they can't use it to look up your receipts? Whatever. I will be back because it's convenient and cheap. I also will save every single inconvenient little receipt. Period. read more

I can honestly say this is the ---:Next Big Thing When It Comes To Deals...:----- You can walk in there and see different Deals everytime (meaning you will never be bored) If, you love to save and really love deals this is the store for you. I am never disappointed when it comes to this store, I could be going in there for one Main Item && come out with bags full of deals. I love the customer service there as well I am always remember there and greeted when I walk in. And if you we're to sign up for a savings card there, you even get more for your moneys worth with the coupons they have to offer, which you will get in your e-mail. The lines can sometimes be long, but hey everyone is there for the deals...what did you expect! If you have patience and know that you are leaving there with a BIG GRIN ON YOUR FACE knowing you just saved a ton of money, It's truly worth the wait.
