You can find a lot of great deals here! Home and garden, cleaning products, decorative items and seasonal are my go to departments. The 2 stars is for the service, managers excluded. While on a recent visit there was an item I wanted to buy but it was discounted online but not the store. The two cashiers said buy it online for pick up. Not an issue necessarily as that was worked out when a manager appeared. My issue is their lack of any sense of urgency. Like why should I have to walk around looking for a manager versus calling one. In addition giving out false information, Manager won't be able to help, saying your order is not charged until pick up and how long they hold online purchases for. All completely false. If you don't have an answer or don't know just say that. And if a customer ask for a manager just get one! read more

When I first moved to Las Vegas, I came here two times looking for something both times leaving without what I wanted. I have not returned until recently when I decided to give it another try. I was in search of Christmas cards because I really don't care to send the very best if I can get something else that is attractive and well done without a lot of mushy sentiment. I was surprised when I saw a whole section of reasonably priced, boxed Christmas cards. I picked up a few boxes and then went on a little check out walk and I ended up buying a set of outdoor lights for a very good price. The staff at checkout was very pleasant. A good end to a successful shopping stop! Giving Big Lots another chance has changed my thoughts about the store and I'll be more likely to check here in the future. read more

Being a fan of Big Lots... I have to say this store location is large, well stocked - abundantly stocked!!! I want people to start coming to Big Lots. They'll be surprised what they discover. Laundry detergent, fabric softer, dryer sheets. If you're the 'strictly only use' kind of person, you should know they carry Tide, Snuggle, Downy, and Suavitel (my fave) here. They have Iams and Purina pet food. Tidy Cats litter is at least comparable to Walmart. Scratch poles and doggy bones, collars and leashes, pet treats, pet beds - this store had TONS; I think I even wanted a few to make as my own bed. I discovered something here I never saw at my old Big Lots... Chocolate Hazelnut and Blackberry Cobbler coffee... googly eyeballs! Are you a candle sniffer upper like me? We should start a club. Let me know what you think about that. Their candles have great scents. Just let your nose tell you so. Yankee candles mmmhmmmm sometimes you can find 'em. Cool workers too. They made sure to ask if I had a rewards card. Frequent shoppers can earn enough to get deals like $20 off $60 (not sure if it's the same here in NV). You get them via email; and if you have a shopping list that does consist of laundry items, pet needs, bath products... you'll be happy to save that $20. So sign up for a friggin rewards card!!! I come for every holiday and I buy decorative items and today in particular I was helped by a young man named Chris and then Alex both of them were incredible. There are no Big Lots stores near us- they have all closed down (s. decatur, e. sahara, & e. tropicana. We were out looking at furniture today on MLK, the one at Spring Mountain doesn't carry furniture (it's a little one but a good one though BTW), so we got on the 95 freeway to this one, to check out the card member event (20% off today after 4 pm). This one is a full-furniture store. Lots of name brand furniture here like Serta, and lots of complete bed sets too, two things we were very interested in finding. We saw a nice chair but didn't get it because we weren't sure we had a place for it. There were lots of Queen size bed sets priced at $69 (we saw ugly ones (er, not our style, ahem, grandma), at Sears/Blvd. Mall recently for around $159) and the one at Wal-Mart was 100% polyester (not breathable and very satiny) was $59. This bed set was also in our color and style theme. Lots of food choices and fully-stocked in the bread department too, I found some organic cereal (score!), kitchen drawstring garbage bags for $3.00, Puffs box tissue (my favorite) at $1.00 each. Decent selection in the healthy-beauty aisles, good prices on the maxi-pads and liners. Crafts aisle was jam-packed with mostly scrapbooking stuff, some sewing items, but didn't see any beading supplies. Most of the customers were of the senior variety, but the area is very close to the age-restricted, 55+ older/senior community at Summerlin. Families or moms with kids came in second. Clean store, not messy at all. Definitely worth stopping by, if you're in the area. read more

I stopped by at Big Lots on Lake Mead yesterday afternoon, because my wife who's originally from Thailand, has never been there since she's been in the States. She instantly fell in love with home decor, furniture, and snack food sections. I was pressed for time because I had to go to work, so she only bought some 'Chips Ahoy' cookies (regular and thin bark). We were helped by a cashier named Deborah, who was very nice and made us feel welcomed. Deborah asked my wife and I about our time in the store and if I had a rewards card with the store. Because she was so charming, I provided Deborah with my contact information and signed up for the rewards card program. We look forward to going back there read more

I don't come in here often because the products are sub-par and the selection is limited. We like to come here after a holiday to pick up holiday items on the cheap. The best time is after Valentine's Day and after Halloween.....you can find some stuff for future Halloween Parties, ie plates, napkins, decorations for 75%+ off. Will I return? It's a mish mosh of stuff and a lot of it is crap...sometimes you find stuff though. I kinda look here when were bored and in the neighborhood. Here though I find some cheap tupperware and plastic containers for organizing things like pasta in the kitchen. They have cheap stuffies and my dogs demolish them in 5 minutes so it's nice to stock up. That's kinda about it that I know I can find here- the rest is just randomness. The BF found DJ Hero- the decks and the game for $20 which is way cheaper than GameStop. There were other cheap video game stuff like guitar hero, a guitar game with Slash, a few Wii controllers like a sports pack, etc. I know for some people this is saving dreams, but to me it's just A-OK for tupperware and stuff for my dogs to destroy. read more

This is probably the nicest BIG LOTS i've been to. I'm not surprised though since it is in the summerlin area. The store was clean and well stocked! they offer household decor, kitchen appliances and tools, bedding, groceries, toys, cleaning supplies, tools, and even a great selection of furniture!! I came post halloween and they had goodies and decor for 75%off! The more exciting part for me was the large amount of christmas items!!! There was christmas trees, ornaments, decor, greeting cards and gift tags and even christmas gift sets! The trip was exciting to see such a wide variety of discounted regular store items! This incident took place on Sunday morning around 10:30am on March 12th, 2016. My 80 year old mother and I entered this store that sits on the DMZ....the demilitarized zone, between Summerlin (the nice area) and North Las Vegas; gang bang daily murder territory. Right at the entrance the genius employees of Big Lots had cleverly decided to park an empty steel newspaper stand right at the doorway where my mother promptly trips over, and severely bruised her ankle. She was in obvious pain and injured her right ankle. We both ask the nearby employee to remove it before they have a lawsuit on their hands. This employee and another two employees who clearly saw what happened just stand there in a daze with apathetic uncaring looks on their faces. It is not moved. I help her along as she limps and grimaces in pain while we try to make our way through the store. The employees watch her and do nothing, say nothing, offer nothing. We get to the cash register and, once again, we ask these employees to move this steel booby trap from the entrance and the cashier emptily glances over at this dangerous obstruction and gives us a helpless, unbelievable grin and just laughs it off. It is still not moved. Finally an apparent manager slowly strolls over and lazily removes the steel newspaper stand (with steel spikes sticking up), from the entrance. Even he had a put upon look on his face like the whole thing was an inconvenience for him. He actually had to stand and walk and exert himself. It leaves me realizing what a third world nation we've turned into. Rotten, third rate service from inept, apathetic, uncaring idiots who just want to collect their pathetic little paychecks and humorously watch little old 80 year old ladies bang their legs and needlessly risk serious injury while trying to enter their stupid third rate store. Wonderful. Their cheap prices don't justify rotten, incompetent, careless and uncaring interactions with the public. The employees and manager of this store should be fired and the executive leadership of this company should be seriously questioned about the clear lack of operational competence and management oversight. This experience is simply symptomatic of the Big Lots experience overall. Hey Big Lots, get a BIG clue and clean up your "customer service" before you find yourself just another forgotten, washed up retail store chain on the ash heap of capitalism. I like this store as their inventory is reasonably priced and their employees friendly. The downside is management allowing people to setup and sell newspaper subscriptions as you walk in and out. I politely declined the woman in the front entry to get verbally abusive backlash for doing so. Clearly this old woman is peeved with the technology age. Sooo, BIG LOTS! More like Big Nots! I came here to look for a CHEAP blow dryer since mine took a sheet last week. Now if I didnt need to blow dry my hair I wouldnt need to replace it, alas this damn Mexican/Indian thick long hair has it out for me! So I walk in and theres a dude with newspapers trying to slang them. The entrance is small and kinda messy... but thats where the clustereff starts! I walk in and Im used to seeing a nice big lit up store, not here! Its like walking through a cave and crap is everywhere! Im used to everything being pretty organized and neat and orderly. NOT HERE! Legit stuff is all over the place! So I go and try to find this blasted dryer, I walk through housewares, then off to the back where the beds and furniture are. Ok, now here the furniture is pretty nice and priced super good! GO BUY A NEW COUCH HERE! I also tried out and fell in love with a Serta memory foam bed, which I WILL BUY with my 3rd paycheck! LOL. I went on to look for the thing again, I look though diff aisles and theyre all messy and insane! I venture off to the front where all the curling irons and video cameras are (in the glass case) and of course NOTHING! BALL SACK BRO! So at this point I'm frustrated and hot, the AC in here was TERRIBLE and of course I couldnt find a GD worker, only some weirdo dude trying to hit on me... keep in mind I was a HOT mess, all sweaty and shit. So anyway, I finally find them! SCORE! AND THE CHEAPEST ONE IS 15$!!! SAY WHAAAAATTTT?! Hell to the no! I was livid! I can find a cheaper one at Target! So I looked at the cosmetics aisle, they have a plethora of crap for you skeezers who NEED it, go peep it! I will def come back to check out the beds and couches once more, or see what other goodies they have. Ill be sure to take a zanie before though bc I get massive anxiety there! OH AND I was like harrassed like a mofo upon leaving by the man selling papers. I told him no thanks and dude will not let me go! Came to big lots yesterday for some holiday shopping. When I went to check out I wanted to use a coupon and my military discount. As I'm with the associate checking out and telling him I want to use these another associate Felicity comes out of nowhere all aggressive about my discount saying I can only use one and to Only use my coupon. I explained to her that I shop at big lots a lot and I am always able to use my military discount with any coupon I have . She was still extremely aggressive saying that I can't because the computer won't let them. Then walked away. I asked the associate that was checking me out to ask their manager because I have done this before. He did over the radio and Felicity heard and comes back over again even more aggressive about it and says fine we'll show you that you can't. She took my coupon and military discount and goes ohh it did apply. Then wanted to get all nice all of a sudden. I was extremely annoyed by all of this nonsense. One she should of minded her business because she wasn't even the one helping me. Two terrible customer service I felt I had to fight with her immediately. I like Big Lots and it's a fun place to shop, but this store seems rather disorganized and in need of remodelling. My biggest issue is that there is a man who sells subscriptions to the local newspaper and yells a sales pitch to you as you pass by him. When I come in looking for something on a Saturday and one of your associates tells me a truck will be coming in Sunday morning and they unload from 6am-9am to restock PLEASE dont tell me on Mondsy when I come in that you dont have deliveries on Sunday !!!! My mother in law just purchased a couch on discount from this location. The couch is beautiful. Or was. While we were moving it into my truck the men helping us (Jeremy and theo) ripped and scratched the material then walked away with out even as much as a sorry or offer to replace and/or fix the couch. I enjoy every time I come here . They have good prices for items you can find at regular store . Every summer I like to come here to see what new string lights they have. The outside needs painting but in time I think they can fix that . They have signs up and down Lake Mead advertising 20% . After standing in line for 5 minutes the one and only cashier (7people in line behind me) announces "No 20% off, that was the weekend. Weekend is over." I left my stuff where it lay since that was the only reason I was there. I won't be back. False advertising and poor customer service. read more

Terrible service! We went there for furniture and after 30 minutes were never helped, even after asking for it. There was one young man on hold on the telephone the whole time who was not at all worried about customer service. We left without making the purchase. Terrible customer service- next to none and when we complained to the front of the store personnel we were met with a very lethargic "sorry about that", next in line response. I am a Big Lots fan from way back and have shopped there for years. I originally from the Midwest. The first thing I noticed about this store is that it is not organized well. I just appears junkie.The store has great deals on a lots of things I use and buy but be prepared to spend some time looking for your items. All the Vegas stores appear to be arranged a little funny there is no rhyme or reason why the store is set up the way it is and they all appear to be set up differently. They carry the same things but not always at the same time. If you are shopping for something very specific you might find the store a little hectic, but if you are just browsing it is a pleasant experience. read more
