They obviously never think to clean their food seating area. Big sign says eat here, but it's so gross. How can they expect anyone to enjoy it? The Starbucks in store has no seating of it's own, either. I have shopped at many Fred Meyers over the last 30 years, but I have never encountered this degree of basic negligence. I will never be back.

Walking through the door, you are greeted by security guards (that don't offer much "security"...more on that later) and have to go through "gates" to get in the store. I arrived at customer service with one person ahead of me, who had some issues that require one-half hour's worth of conversation. Staff did not call additional help. I finally asked an employee if they could open another register. I kid you not, she said to me, "we don't have enough employees" and sped off. A customer came up to the counter and told a staff member that there was a man in the parking lot who was slumped over his steering wheel with the engine running. She reported it to the "security guard" who told her to go to customer service!! The girl looked at her blankly and went back to helping the other employee. No call to management or 911. She finally overheard us talking and "called someone." And there you have it; the absolute LAST time I will shop in-store at FM. It is just too customer-hostile and dehumanizing. Even Target has started "niceness" training with its employees...like, how to show gratitude for the customers who keep your doors open. Anyway....I'm done.

The towels were really soft and plush and there were discounted blankets in the back with some defects that were marked. The staff were really friendly and kept checking in to see if we needed help with anything. Was worth the drive from Portland to here.

I came here for the factory tour, where the wool blankets they spin and finish are done completely…read morein the United States. The tour skips some of the beginning steps (for example, they don't have sheep nor shear the sheep on the factory grounds!) but picks up from where the raw wool is shipped to the factory, dyed, cleaned, and spun into yarn. The yarn is then woven into bolts of fabric, but each square inch has to be inspected by hand and fixed if possible to ensure its quality. Then, the lengths of fabric are cut and finished into blankets. The factory tour took about an hour, and some areas are hot and humid to prevent the wool fibers from breaking, so be prepared for temperature changes. I liked how the tour guide used to be a factory worker herself, and had an intimate knowledge of the workings of the factory. The shop itself sells the blankets and other Pendleton products, and there's even a corner near the bathroom that sells blanket seconds-blankets that didn't pass the inspection process. This may be due to stains, too many broken yarns strands, etc. They're sold at a discount.

The cutest beaded summer bag with 2 lemons and bamboo handles caught my attention. Unlike some of the gaudier bags in this style, this particular bag was subtle, with just two lemons on a sand colored, beaded background. it's sophisticated and perfect for an upcoming trip to Italy in the fall, but no way I could wait until them I ripped the tags off in the parking lot and used it that night! My friends, the waitress, and another person at the restaurant complimented it! The bag is unique, stylish, and quite the "find" for $49. The clothing racks were full of many newer spring styles And I spent a lot of time in the dressing room trying on various outfits. So many of them worked, but I had to do a catch and release on a few because I have been buying a lot of clothes lately. I bought a beautiful white boho cropped spring sweater and a pair of wide legged pants, in a fun, beachy print, to go with. Found a two piece set in a light caramel color, perfect to wear in several seasons. The pants are fitted up top, but looser in the legs and paired perfectly with the crocheted knit top in the identical color. This outfit and the purse with lemons are definitely coming on my trip! Also bought a pretty pink athletic jacket and wore it immediately on my walk the next evening. The woman who was managing the dressing room was friendly and super helpful when I needed other sizes. It's such a pain to get dressed and go back out on the floor, so when she offered to bring me a different size, I was so grateful. My only complaint was they had a selection of maxi dresses hung on a low rack so all the bottoms were filthy. I'm not buying anything that is dirty and I'm unsure if it will wash clean. Definitely an area of improvement for the management. They didn't have as many food items as usual, and area I like to peruse for pantry items, but the housewares was completely stocked, as was the bedding and bath area. Lots of fabulous finds! Oh, and I guarded my cart because a friend told me that when she went to use the restroom, her cart went missing and she and the staff never found it. LOL. I Think a worker probably put the items back thinking it was abandoned, but I wasn't taking any chances!

They do have plenty of home goods but not a lot as far as clothes, skincare, cosmetics, shoes. Fragrances are pretty affordable and they receive a great range from moderately priced to designer. I don't know if I will be going back. I would not recommend the restroom. I went in to use it but there were feces smeared all over the top of the toilet seat. I made the staff aware and they started laughing about how it's not even that much feces.
