Decent Dollar Tree location. Part of a strip mall, so plenty of parking available. Always seems to be long lines at this location, so plan accordingly. Large variety of items available, but beware, some items aren't cheaper here than, let's say, Walmart. I usually buy greeting cards here because they sell Hallmark cards, 2 for $1, which is an awesome deal. I buy gift bags here too. They have super cute and durable bags for $1.25 each. Theater size candy is a good deal here, too, and they have a nice selection. Occasionally, they have nice ceramic dishware. I've bought some in the past and it's lasted years and is dishwasher safe. Would definitely recommend Dollar Tree for some items, but not all. read more

The workers stocking the shelves were very helpful and nice, always asking if I needed assistance. The store was well-organized and easy to shop around. My checkout experience was less pleasant. The cashier Katie seemed condescending and had a negative tone. I had a lot of big items, and when I tried to hand them to her to make the process smoother, she wasn't very cooperative. Whenever i made a statement she'd argue. Her attitude seemed unnecessary and made me uncomfortable, especially since she was much friendlier to the next customer in line.Overall, the store is great, but the checkout experience could be improved. read more

I've been going to Dollar Trees for years. They've helped me purchase inexpensive teaching aids for my class studies and parties. I've shopped at every location in Vancouver and beyond. The location on Hazel Dell Avenue and 99th Street was always my go to. Until today. I'm not sure if there's new management or not, but the store has gone downhill. A different display and location of the products happened a while back and still doesn't make sense to me. Beyond that, today the floor was filthy in several places, shelves were extremely messy and many of them were only half full. This wasn't a result of putting out new stock - the store was just a mess. A couple years back I was in the store and 2-3 gentlemen who said they were from corporate were there. I mentioned to them that the Hazel Dell store was the best managed in Vancouver. I wouldn't be able to say that now. read more

This is a good-sized store compared to other Dollar Tree locations. Their prices are consistent with other locations as well.

The management's best idea seems to be to put the slowest (while friendliest) person on a cashier, and while the line wraps around the store and people leave items still in their cart, chit chat with the other workers near her "office". When confronted she changed out several empty registers, while we the consumers were on pins and needles to see if she was going to open one. Spoiler alert: she does not. This seems to be a recent theme as they always have a slower worker up front but they used to have more than one cashier open to shorten the wait time from OVER 20 min to an expected 5-10. People were literally putting their items down and leaving the store while the manager opened a trash bag for no less than 5 minutes trying desperately to get it to fit in the oversized can. My only suggestion and I hope they take it in the spirit in which I give it, would be to hide in the office with the door closed if you are refusing to help move the line quicker. We didn't need to see the pantomiming of a joke told to another employee, a fight with a kitchen trash bag, or you running into an old friend. All that could have been hidden from view from the 30-35 people watching. Two stars because as noted above the management does care about cleanliness. read more

This was the worst experience I have ever had at this location I have never seen this cashier before so I do not know her name but I was clearly standing in line and she put her close sign up I politely asked her will u please check me out I have feminine personal products and I don't want to go to the young man cashier cause I didn't feel comfortable but before I could finish she keep saying I will help the next person that's is in the back of the line I said I am in line or was until you put your close sign up and kept arguing with me and the manager was right there and did nothing I told her she had horrible customer service who argues with someone like that over checking out at the register this is ridiculous at 3:45 to 4:00 on May 12 was the worst experience I have ever had in a store I felt humiliated and they treated me like I was in the wrong for being more comfortable around a women cashier I am a very patient person and this was my favorite store but now every time I go in there if she is there I will leave and this location will lose my business it is sad that u cant get treated decently because someone don't want to serve u I hope they have video cameras so they can review them and see what happened cause this is ridiculous I shouldn't have to drive all the way across town because one cashier and a manager wants to be disrespectful and have no customer service and I have been in customer service for over 10 years so yes I do know what it looks like. read more

This has always been the dollar store I went to. Staff used to be friendly. Won't go in here again due to the elderly lady that works here. Not sure if she is a supervisor but she has no business working with the public. She is rude and nasty when taking to people and acts like customers are beneath her to interact with them. Tonight there was a line more than 10 people waiting, before she decides to help, but would only take one person at a time. God help the person that doesn't follow her rule, she bit someone's head off for trying to get in her line. Yikes. read more

They offer a very wide variety of products all for the economy busting price of 1 smacker each! Floors are carpeted to keep things classy and quieter. What I especially love is that you can get some pretty great products for a great price and the company is not as greedy as other companies are meaning their profit margin doesn't seem to be as focused on and actual value is more obvious when coming here. This place is an awesome place especially for two reasons. 1. Putting together quick gift options that won't kill your bank account. 2. Getting munchies... especially for a trip to the theater!! The place is nicely laid out, easy to navigate, fully stocked, and the staff is really nice. This Dollar Tree is a true gem for this community and for the company itself. read more

Who doesn't love Dollar Tree? I go in with the intent of spending $5.00 and come out having spent $30. It's really hard not to. They literally have any and everything you can think of for $1.00! It might break in six months, but hey I've had expensive things break in that amount of time. This location isnt too shabby. It is usually filled with stuff. There has been a few times when they were out of something, which was a bummer. Other than that, it's a pretty good store. Also, it is usually really packed and there's always a long line. I think its the only one in the area, which makes sense. Anyway, I recommend this store for party supplies, holiday decor, and random things like frames. Who can beat $1.00? read more

Went to my local dollar tree today on 2/12/2019 to pickup a cover binder for an interview and although the store hours both online and on the door stated that it opened up at 8 am, me and 3 other customers were left outside waiting for it to open. After about half an hour of waiting, two employees finally get out of a car and rudely make comments about how they will not be opening for another half hour while laughing. I have never been so appalled by the response of an employee. I suggest you find another store that opens on time without the insults! read more

Pretty nice dollar.Not to long of lines like in Battle Ground. Has good supply of stock including food. Lentils, rice, tapioca, icecream, crackers and more. Easy location. Close to gas stations and other businesses. Employees can look a little grumpy at times but most of them are quite nice. Great place to buy things cheaper. But things do tend to break as they are made quickly and poorly. Still a great place to shop cheaply. No need to go to Walmart for things you can get here. I love this place, best store to buy household supplies such as laundry detergent, soap, sponges, paper towels, etc. They have 20 oz. soda for $1 here, where other Dollar Tree's only have 16 oz. Ice cream and Gatorades, fun little gifts and candles all for a buck. read more

I visited this location and found that the Manager was on the floor, working in plain view, and asking shoppers if they needed any help finding things and if everything was going alright :) I am a browser, so I take a bit longer than the average shopper. So I was asked not once but twice, how my shopping was going if all was well and if I needed any help (the Manager asked me each time). I got to the register and stood in an average line, there were several cashiers open ringing up customers. As another shopper pulled up behind me the manager called for an additional cashier and asked me and the shopper behind me to follow him to the next register for checkout! I mentioned to the cashier that I had not seen that type of customer service in many years in the PNW as I am from LA California where every shopping experience is very good. But since I moved here many years ago, the shopping experience was lacking commitment and urgency, and I complained to my hubby about this for many years in the PNW, how I missed shopping in California where the customer is always king!! Now I see there is hope, one store at a time. This Dollar Tree gives me hope in the good customer service experience. The Managers name who provided this superb service is Mark I believe. And yes I did speak to Mark about this personally before I left the store :) Thank you Mark, thank you, thank you, thank you kindly...for an experience I will never forget :) I feel special again, the way a customer should feel.
