I went in for a basic hair cut (no fades, no special requests, etc.). Just a basic haircut that didn't require scissors, only clippers. IT WAS $40. I'm taking myself to the Mexican haircut ladies next time because I can say that my haircut was not worth $40...maybe $20....maybe. This is your basic barber shop run by men in their early to mid 20's who don't know how to greet patrons. I don't mind this as 90% of young barbers don't have basic communication skills. Whatever happened to "Hi, How are you? How can we help you?" I will say that I enjoyed the decor inside the barber shop. You will too if you can appreciate the decorating skills of a teenage boy who drives a Honda Civic and sprays way too much axe body spray. There is an ATM inside the place that charges $3 per transaction. The barbers don't accept Apple play or zelle or anything other pure cash (tax evasion?). I can confirm that my hair was cut. But was it worth $40 w/o tip? Absolutely not. I wish these young men and other barbers would learn more communication skills because their business will go far if they do. They also need to humble themselves down because their services are not worth $40. Will I be coming back? No. Will I be buying my own clippers and taking my own chances? Unfortunately yes. Sorry gentlemen, I can afford your services but I'm not stupid enough to be paying for them. Final take away: you will enjoy this place and feel right at home if you know exactly what you want, can communicate with the workers in their language (not taking at all), and don't mind splurging on a haircut that should be $10-$15 cheaper. This barbershop is meant for a specific type of patron. The barbershop knows this and capitalizes on this; that's why they're successful with that specific audience. They have their clientele and know exactly who their target audience is One of the reasons why I'm giving this barber shop a low score, besides what I just said above, is the fact that I was charged $40 for something I could've done at home. That's $40 without a tip. So, please ask for prices upfront if you're going to get a fade or anything in that nature. read more

In this area (Rancho Cucamonga) there are 2 Big Mike's. I started going to this location off Haven but then switched to the location off Foothill when the person I went to changed to there. My recommendation is to go during the week unless you know who you want to see and you make an appointment with them. Why? It is because they busy because they are good. If you show up on a weekend without an appointment just expect to wait for a little while. Personally, I'd rather wait for a good cut then to save some minutes getting something horrible. read more

Today I took my two sons to Big Mike's shop #2 for the first time based on positive comments from another client of theirs. I called first, and I was informed that walk-ins were welcome. We drove over 15 miles to try this barbershop. Although there was no one initially there to welcome us or explain their walk-in procedures, Jett quickly stopped working to politely welcome us and assure us that we would be serviced soon. Both of my sons were taken care of by Barber Lupe. My boys left happy and look forward to going back. They were impressed with all of the barbers that were there that day. The atmosphere was positive and fun. It was relatively clean. I might suggest someone to sweep up a little bit more. I would invite anyone looking for a good cut in a great environment to go to Big Mike's on Haven. Also, the music was enjoyable and the sports theme was a nice touch. I don't really understand the reviews that I'm seeing on yelp for this place. I brought my two sons to Big Mike's for their first haircuts back in December. To me this was a total big deal. I of course looked up tons of reviews to find a legit barber and I liked what I read about Humberto and his ability to cut children's hair and have them looking right. So I called the number for the Foothill shop and found out that he in fact worked at the Haven shop. So I called over there, advised him about my little guys and he was very confident. He did an amazing job with both their haircuts and I will definitely recommend him to others as well as schedule appointments for my boys in the future. Top notch service. They even turned the tv to a kids movie and have the kids lollipops to calm their nerves. Thanks guys! read more

Not walk-in friendly. But it is a nice place. Close to my house, so gave it a try. I walked in without an appointment. I tried to make eye contact with all 12 barbers (some were not giving haircuts), and they were all avoiding eye contact. Finally someone asks me if i was a walk in, and I said yes. The guy yells out "does anyone want a walk in?" it got quiet for a while. Then the guy said to sit down and he'll cut my hair. The haircut was okay. I decided to give it a 2nd chance and same thing happened. Gave it a 3rd try, Walked in trying to make eye contact, no one looked at me again, super uncomfortable. I typically go to Supercuts or Great Clips because they're cheaper, but I never felt 100% about the haircut I got. So I decided to try out a barbershop. The first one I went to was alright, but wasn't worth $25 to me. Then a friend of mine recommended Big Mike's and so I decided to give it a shot. I usually have some beef with my haircut, usually something minor, but the cut I received here was off the charts. I really couldn't recognize myself or find anything wrong. My barber was a man named "Nacho" and he did such an amazing job on my hair. I showed him a picture and he followed it to the tee unlike other places. I typically feel like my haircuts are rushed when I go to places like Supercuts, but Nacho put so much effort and care into working on my hair that it took about an hour and a half. However, it didn't feel like it took that long because Nacho and the other barbers there were very social with everyone and cracking jokes and really making the experience fun. This place was SOOOOOOO worth $25. I am for sure coming here whenever I need a haircut. I'm never going back to those other places. read more
