My experience here caused me to never go to a traditional barbershop again. The barber embarrassed me so bad that I dread needing a haircut and not knowing where to go. All I did was bring in a picture of a hairstyle I liked, and he just told me in a dismissive tone "your hair could never look like that". I wish I had walked out right then and there, but I instead said "just a trim then, I guess". I regret giving this business one dime and the fear I have of being embarrassed like this again has kept me locked in the same hairstyle that I hate. read more

I wanted to give this place a 1 or 2 star review but I know I have to be fair and understand that what I asked for probably wasn't their speciality. I was looking for an old fashioned barber shop. I love the white coats and old fashioned feel. Music was awesome. Service was friendly. No complaints there. The complaints are on the actual haircut. If you're looking for a fade or any kind I'm sure these gents can do a stellar job. However, I was t looking for a fade. I have medium length curly hair and needed a trim and a shaping. That's where it all went wrong. The barber proceeded to comb through my DRY CURLY hair. I could hear the hair breaking and my butt basically coming I out of the seat from the resistance. Normally you'd think "hey, let's wet this hair and make it easier to comb". Nope! My hair was cut dry with product in it and resulted in the worst haircut of my life. I enjoyed the experience. The hot shaving cream on my neck. The hot towel. All do that was great but the cut it self was absolutely terrible. I got home to find random strands of hair about 3 inches longer than the rest of the hair and had to do some cutting of my own. If you want a scissor cut, go somewhere else. If you want a really good fade or taper and someone who is a master with the clippers, this is the right place. I won't be coming back due to the cut itself but the experience was nice and I still have to recommend this place due to the ambiance. read more

So I've only been let down a few times by Yelp and today (2/17/24) is one of those unfortunate times... In a pinch, I decided to take my son here for a haircut since his other barber was booked and it was only down the street from our house. David, the only barber available via online booking had a few open afternoon slots so let's try it out. It was pretty obvious this Barber didn't have experience with long hair or a long beard. He didn't seem confident with his approach, he didn't even have tools to keep my hair in place. Needless to say; when you're adjusting your trimmer? Make sure your blades aren't above the guard. Otherwise you'll literally shred through someone's skin and leave them burnt mark rashes. I rarely have bad experiences with barbers. I know we all depend on our customers, but this dude really had no idea what the hell he was doing at all. I had to come home and fix my beard. Ever since my barber left Chops, I've been looking for a new barber. Tried several places, but either they were terrible, overpriced, or confusing in regards to how much a hair cut is for each visit would be. The majority of places are either by appointments only, or highly recommended. I rarely like to do walk ins because I don't want to wait forever. But since I got off of jury duty early, I had some time to look around for a same day appointment. Majority of places were obviously booked. Then I found this place. Most of their barbers were booked, but one in particular was wide open, like his entire day was open. So at 11am I booked online for an 1110 haircut . Place is nice. Retro in nature. Clean. Cool classic vibe. They have mirrors running along both of the long walls so it's really easy to see the back of your head constantly as it's being cut. So the guy who did my hair, who will go unnamed, did a substandard job in my humble opinion. I showed him the picture of the cut I wanted, which is a high fade, with a hard part and combover up top. While doing the cut he constantly asked his counterpart how it looked and if it looked OK. His fellow co worker told him where to do touch ups and where it's uneven and things of that nature. Which doesn't put much confidence in me. Like the surgeon asking his colleague if this is where the incision should go right in front of you!! And after the haircut there was still a lot of unevenness going on. Long hairs sticking up here and there. And it was only the ones I can see using a mirror, I can only imagine how the back looked. The integration of the fade was also sloppy, not clean loke the picture I showed. There was also a warm scalp massage. Which just turned out to be him putting a damp hot towel on my head and pressing in. There was no alternating of pressure, no movement of the hands, just a constant cradling of the head which definitely was not calming or a massage. Left me with some red bumps too on the back of my head. It cost $35 for the haircut. Which I don't mind paying. I know some places are charging 40 bucks pre tip which is fine. But for the quality of the cut it was definitely not worth it. I can see why he had a fully open schedule. He's probably new, which is fine, but charge a lower rate until you build up your skill set. 3 stars instead of 2 because people at work commented on my fresh cut, some said it looked nice. But I know it can be better because I've seen better. read more

Hands down the best barbershop in the IE! I drive from Apple Valley to bring my 10 year old to Beau! First time here was about 3/4 years ago. He refuses to go anywhere else. Beau is always super patient, and attentive with him and I think my son appreciates that he takes the time to talk to him about school, video games or anything crazy my son wants to share lol. Booked an appointment with Josh, arrived a few minutes early and he was ready at my scheduled time. Josh was a real professional, friendly but not overly chatty, which I always appreciate. I had a beard trim and a straight-razor head shave and he did a fantastic job. The Barbershop is a throwback to the barbershop of my youth, where my dad would take me and my brothers, and everyone talked about sports, work, and current events. Even though this was my first visit, I immediately felt comfortable. While I usually shave my head and trim my beard at home, it's nice to have a professional do it occasionally. Quick and friendly service! Reached out the them via Yelp to make an appointment and was answered quickly with availability immediately. We made an appointment with Ruben for our almost 2 year old and he was patient and friendly while trying to make it as quick as possible. He used clippers and then scissors to get the closest cut possible while explaining why we shouldn't go any shorter. The shop was clean and small, probably what old barbershops used to look like.
