They did not have a happy hour, though their website had implied they did (maybe it's only in…read morewinter?). However, the food was very good (except my salad). The salad was just very basic, small, and sad for the price it cost to add it to my soup. As it was labeled a "house salad," I thought it would be similar in description to the house salad labeled on the menu under the "salads." It was a bit more basic than that. In the future, I probably wouldn't bother with adding it. The mashed potato option seemed more pricey than I thought it would be worth, so I opted not to do that. Their soups are very hearty and do not skimp. For the price point, I think this is pretty solid. Their drinks are also solid. The service was fast and kind. It was a great day to sit outside with some hearty soups on their patio.

It smells wonderful, like you were back at home, waiting on Sunday Supper when you enter. Definitely not fancy, but the staff quickly greets you with a warm friendly welcome smile and some great tips on what to expect. It seems like they are only willing to hype up whatever they are serving in a modest way, because they seem to really enjoy the over-the-top reactions that will follow, once the meal is served. Seriously, I had a cup of their clam chowder, and a bowl of the Habanero Chile and pork stew, with sliced bread and butter. Wow! The clam chowder was very good, but that stew was super delicious. It was so good, we had to go back the next evening to do it all over again. This time I ordered the Chicken and sausage stew, which was also delicious. I would have gone a third night, if I didn't have to get back to So Cal the next morning. The prices are very reasonable and the service is friendly, prompt and professional. I highly recommend this place and just pray they will be open when I return in October.

Wanted burgers for dinner so walked 1/2 mile and grabbed some toppings in a pinch. Busy place and the stocking shelf process seems tricky with limited space, but they make it work and people can still shop. Self checkout is fast and bring your bags so you don't have to buy paper ones (and have them break as you get on the shuttle like I saw happen to one guy). Coffee bar in front and it's super affordable. Something like $1.50 for drip coffee and around $3-$5 for lattes and fancier stuff. Produce is well-stocked and fresh. Happy to grab up some items. Pricier, yes, but the only other option is GG's and that's tinier... and 1/2 hr shuttle down the mountain and into town for other groceries. Save yourself some time and pop in here to grab some last-minute needs.

The prices are reasonable, the produce/meat/dairy are fresh and it's just a great local grocery store. Whenever I've needed service for meat or cheese recommendations, the employees were knowledgeable. I really like the new, updated store and how easy it is to locate what I need. It's very clean, smells good and it actually makes me look forward to grocery shopping.

Notice that the newer reviews on that platform are made by people leaving their first ever review in 2026 lol. I will leave a very candid honest review, and this is not something I'd usually do for a restaurant as someone who was in the service industry for a very long time. This was one of the most bizarre experiences I had as a diner, maybe the most bizarre. You can find more honest reviews on their yelp account. At first glance, they were out of 75% of their beers on tap. A friend asks the bartender/server, Patrick, (who is conveniently named today in a five star review from one of the fake reviewers) if there is a menu we can look at. He responds with "of course there's a menu...this is a restaurant." We order coffee and food. Patrick mentions the coffee will come out in 3 minutes. That came out one hour later. We weren't offered cream or sugar, which is fine, but no apologies on the wait. 1/3 entrees come out and there's no explanation about the other dishes. An hour in, the second entree comes out and Patrick tells a friend in the group "who ordered the pulled pork? We just sold the last one so you'll have to order something else." This is an hour into waiting for food. The friend is shocked; but kind. He orders a BLT. Now two hours in, it never comes. At this point we have to leave. We ask for the BLT boxed up and the check. Patrick brings over the check with 20% gratuity added for a party of 8 or more. We're a 6 top. When we ask him to remove it he says "I can't, it's part of the system." We said ok but we are not 8 we're 6....he said "well, sorry, they need to update it to 6." We tell him we're not doing that and he takes it off and charges our card. Mind you--the coffees we waited an hour for (just drip), every single soda refill, and a pickle that I ordered that he charged $3 for but I never got, were all still on the bill. On top of that, he added a 10% takeout fee on our ENTIRE order for the to go BLT. We didn't come for takeout, but after 2 hours, we had to get it to go. Here's the kicker, it never came! Once we asked him to take the 10% off, he again said it was part of the system and he couldn't do it. At this point, I asked to speak to the manager. Patrick mentioned he was the manager and supervisor. Which is odd--because the manager reading these reviews is reaching out to my friends and requesting them on social media to "make it right", but seeing fake reviews after the fact doesn't seem as such. Just BIZARRE. We finally get Patrick to take the 10% off the bill. We get the bill back. Yall....its $50 MORE than the original. Turns out he added someone else's tab to our card and we got charged for that too. This ended with him saying "I'm just trying to help you man." Not a single apology. Oof. Do what you wish, but I do not recommend this place. We went down the road to a stew restaurant to get food for our friend that never got a meal at the Tavern, and the drinks, meal and service were incredible. Please do better guys.
