I had the salad that was a generous plate full with cheese, tomatoes and cucumbers topped with about 6 grilled shrimp and several fried green tomatoes. My wife and I were tired from a day of road-wars (in our car) so we decided to order delivery to our hotel room. We used the Waitr app and it was a good experience with a uniformed driver and warm food. We indulged ourselves with some good old fashioned southern BBQ. We ordered pulled pork and fried pork chops. Pulled pork was delicious! Meat to fat ratio was on target and the sweet bbq sauce was great. The side for the pp was baked beans and as per wifey, they were good. I enjoyed the fried pork but I gave it a point off because the pork chop was thin and had ALOT of breading. But it was not overcooked and it tasted great. The collard greens were absolutely the best I ever had. We also got an order of the pulled chicken nachos. The chips were crunchy and the sweet bbq sauce combined with the standard nacho fare makes this dish awesome. Randomly stoped here on our way to Florida from Michigan, and seriously couldn't have been happier! This place is amazing!! I sampled a LOT off the menu! We had Ciroc Wings, Fried Shrimp, Soul Rolls & Gator Tails for STARTERS. (I know I'm a pig. Lol) The wings were super finger-licking good, the fried shrimp was super fresh and fried perfectly. The Soul Rolls were something special. It's an assortment of soul food items prepared like an egg roll - wrapped & deep fried - there was greens & smoked turkey & black eyed peas inside, along with a super dipping sauce. DELICIOUS!! The Gator Tails were also perfectly fried, fresh & super tasty!! For the entree, I had the ribs which were super flavorful and tender. My sides were fries & potato salad - one friend had the same except with baked beans on the side & my other friend had pork chops with the Mac n Cheese. EVERYTHING was bangin!! Great cool spot in Valdosta, GA. They have indoor/outdoor seating and awesome decor inside. The moment my family and I walked in the host greeted us and immediately sat us. Our server came quickly and was very polite. Food came out with speed and it was delicious. I ordered the spare ribs and I normally don't like spare ribs but I guess it's cause I've never had it made good anywhere until I came here. So far Big Nicks spare ribs are my fav. The coolest part of our whole experience is at some point I see Big Nick himself making his way to our table. First time here visiting Atlanta from Florida! Excellent service with a welcoming atmosphere. On top of that, food was delicious. We asked them what they recommended and they suggested their ciroc red berry wings and bang bang wings, so that's what we ordered. The wings came with fries and even those were delicious as well! The fries didn't taste like they were drenched in oil and were crispy at the first bite, as well as flavorful. The Walter is my favorite thing on the menu; the meat is smoked until it's very flavorful and tender, then topped with home made cole slaw and barbecue sauce between two pieces of Texas toast. The wings are a good size and aren't overpriced. The only thing I wish was better here was the service. Both times I've been, the service was sub-par, hopefully just a random bad experience. If you can get your hands on some of the banana pudding or red velvet cake order several because they sell out early everyday. I was really surprised at the diverse the crowd. I never had to flag anyone down but also never felt as though I was being bothered. Wife was served last week's pork chops that had the moisture of jerkey with a side of momma's macaroni. Momma must have been a master of the microwave because it arrived hotter than the surface of the sun and limp as the sour dish rag the waitress wiped our filthy table with (onto our laps). I asked for coleslaw on the side rather than sogging up my pork sandwich, but the Gordon Ramsay chef of canned soul food told the waitress that my request is denied. I withdrew my order and watched my wife try to stomach the gooey canned greens with no flavor. Valdosta lacks a comedy club, but if you want a chuckle go to home of the soulful can opener and 100,000 watt microwave where no meat is wasted no matter how old or dry. I give the ice 5 stars - it was frozen, fresh, not canned and not microwaved.....unlike everything else on our table. ENJOY! read more

This is the best soul food I've had at a Restaurant in my life. It tastes like I made it myself. I can tell they took their time and put some love into my food. I am a vegetarian and their menu is full of meat but they have a veggie option, they detail if the veggie is made with meat and what kind which is very helpful. For example the collard greens are made with turkey. I chose 4 veggies and cornbread. I am always worried the cornbread will be dry at a restaurant. That was not an issue. The cornbread was moist and perfect. EVERYTHING WAS AMAZING! I didn't "need" any hot sauce because everything was so flavorful. I encourage you to stop in and try anything on the menu. I tried my friends grits and even those were tasty. Our server Austin was very pleasant and prompt. She took our order and immediately placed it then, when the food arrived, checked on us several times to ensure the food was good. The food was served hot and fresh. Man I really love this place!
