Found a set of tires online for less than Big O was selling them for. Did the online form to price match since the form says to let them know if a lower price is found, as "We won't be undersold!" Yesterday I got a call from Chris stating that she couldn't find the price that was matched, and when I explained to her that it was a promo code that's shown on the product page, she said she wouldn't honor the price match because it was only a small amount more than what she pays for the tire. What's the point in having a price match policy if you refuse to honor it? Seems like this store is just greedy so suggest you look elsewhere when spending almost $2,000 on tires. I highly recommend Discount Tires, since both Renton locations have agreed to honor the price that Big O wouldn't! read more

If I could give zero stars, I would. I called ahead to confirm they could replace a valve on my Tesla. Christine told me to bring it in, so we did. Once there, the attitude was condescending and the focus quickly shifted to upselling us a TPMS we didn't actually need. Next thing we know, they say they can't fix it at all -- leaving my girlfriend with 32 PSI in the tire and an "oh well" attitude. If you can't do the work, be upfront about it instead of wasting people's time and trying to sell unnecessary parts. We went to Discount Tire afterward, and they were helpful, professional, and fixed it for free without sending us to Tesla or pushing parts we didn't need. Big O Tires should take notes -- honesty and customer care go a lot further than upselling and empty promises. read more

I stopped today in Big tires, in Renton, which, changed the oil in it was changed, but the oil was spilled on the engine and not cleaned, even there everything was left after that, I paid, drove away on two miles, my engine starts to burn oil and the engines smell stinks, I come back to them, I say what's the problem, what is, they answer me, we're closing now, we'll clean it on Monday, what's the case of bad maintenance, I don't recommend this place to anyone, I put 0 out of 10 for poor service read more

I always thought they just did tires. Some time ago my husband had them check our brakes after the dealership said ours needed replacing. Big O said they still had plenty of life left. When the dealership told us we had a leaking manifold we did not trust them so we took it into Big O for their opinion. The manifold was actually cracked and was a serious safety issue. They always seem honest, are priced fairly and give great customer service. We use the one in Renton in the Benson Plaza. If you need mechanical work check them out. Brought my truck in to get my winter tires mounted, balanced and put on my truck. When they were finished I noticed a scratch/dent on my drivers door. I brought it up to them and they told me they had to ask the guy that was working on the truck. I get a call back telling me that the worker didn't do it and that there's nothing they can do to help me out. Don't recommend because they won't be careful around your vehicle. read more

Got the timing chain replaced in my 2017 Hyundai and maaaaaaaan was I overdue.. I'm thankful they took my car in same day and found the problem FAST because it could have been a lot more expensive. Granted, I was without my car for an entire week... but they had to pull my whole engine out to do the repair. On top of that, the man that I think opens Big O' Tires (I FEEL TERRIBLE FOR NOT GETTING HIS NAME) even gave me a ride home so I didn't have to fork out money for an Uber on top of everything. Do NOT service your car at this shop. Go elsewhere to save yourself money and a headache. I spent $800 with Big O to get snow tires put on my car. (Cashier added on a tire disposal fee when I kept my old tires). When I recieved the car back, it started vibrating really bad. I called Patrick and he said they might have "forgotten" something and to bring the car back. After checking out the car, he said one of the tires were unbalanced but they rebalanced it and I shouldn't have a problem. He also advised "if the shaking is not too bad, I wouldn't worry about it". When has an auto professional ever advised a customer to DRIVE A VIBRATING CAR?? Sure enough, the next day the vibration was back. They then advised me to buy hub-centric rings because of my after market wheels, shifting the blame away from their shop. (BTW, if my car needed these rings why was I not informed the day that they installed the new tires?) While waiting for the part to arrive at the shop, I called and questioned my dealership service department, a few well-known auto shops, and the shop that put my after market wheels on, I got a unanimous answer informing me that IF the car needed these rings, I would have needed them the moment the wheels were installed, not 2 years after the fact. Refusing to spend any more time with the inept staff, I took my car to another shop and asked them to look at why my car was vibrating. Turns out, both rear tires were unbalanced and the mechanic told me that it looks like the previous mechanic did a lazy job and didn't take the time to balance the tires properly. After a simple rebalance, my car no longer vibrates. Keep in mind, my car is still void of these hub-centric rings that Big O insisted that I needed for my tires to function properly. The shop refuses to give me a refund for the "balancing" charge. Are you serious? You perform work on my car, do it WRONG, made me go back twice BECAUSE THE TIRES ARE UNBALANCED, and I can't get a refund? Not to mention the charge to pay someone else to fix the job they couldn't perform. These guys don't care about their customers at all. This is the worst service I have ever received from an auto shop. read more

Took my car in for service on a Saturday and got me in right away with no appointment. Refused to rotate my tires, recommended keep the worn tires in the front on a front wheel drive car. Recommended alignment, but alignment machine didn't work, and they are a tire shop. Still charged me one though. It was 0.8% off and they couldn't get it 100% correct. Wouldn't change my oil because they were out of stock on my size oil filter. I had to find another shop on a weekday instead of a convenient weekend, find a ride to work, and get the alignment re-done and to get my tires rotated and oil changed. This place seems like a small local opinionated shop instead of a accredited establishment. Now I know why they weren't busy on a Saturday read more

If I could give zero stars I would. I used to love this shop and was a loyal customer for years, spending thousands on both my vehicles between new tires, alignments, and regular maintenance. I drive a lot, an average of 25-30k miles a year and my wheels are my livelihood. After the long standing manager left and the owner began having more front counter involvement, things went downhill fast. There was a new shop manger every time I went in, the inspections became more sloppy. My vehicle had started leaking oil and after three oil changes, no one could give me an answer or was willing to address the issue (Buckey's discovered it was leaking from the head gasket, a censor, and some other place). One time, I was told the noise I was hearing in my truck was all in my head, but when I insisted further inspection, the owner tried to "guess" it was a belt. I told him "it's not a belt, it sounds like a bearing". After shop hunting for someone reliable, it is a bearing in my clutch. One point the owner went to drive my truck into the shop and couldn't find reverse, so he almost drove it into the car it was parked behind. I admittedly lost my cool and told him not very politely to get out of my truck. He said "what is this, a 5 speed?" I just shook my head and said "clearly, you don't drive a stick, it's a 6 speed, and I will move it myself, don't wreck my truck". The last straw was waiting for 4 hours for them to replace a lug nut they snapped off during a tire rotation. After my boyfriend became irate, they told him to bring it back on a day when he could leave it all day. I called them up and asked what was going on, and the new shop manager tried telling me because the drums were rusted on, it would take longer and we'd have to bring it back when we could leave it all day. I drive a lot and I have had many lug nuts snapped off during rotations, this was a new excuse. I told him not to worry about it. Neither of my vehicles would be their problem anymore as I would be taking my business elsewhere. Buckey's replaces the lug nut in less than a half hour, while performing an oil change. If you like being lied to and wasting your time, then this is a great shop for doing just that. Thanks for treating loyal customers like they are dispensable and don't know anything about their vehicles. read more

Downgraded my original 2 star rating to one star due to lack of caring or follow up from staff. Their Fuel Maintenance Service and inspection Coupon is an awesome deal. However.... I brought in my 1999 Ford F150 for service on and picked it up on Thursday afternoon. They are obviously understaffed at the front desk. When I picked up the truck there was 4 people waiting in line behind me and the mechanic was obviously too rushed to answer any of my questions. I was told I needed to replace the catalytic converter and power steering pump. They told me my brakes are good. I asked for a detailed copy of the vehicle inspection. They told me they usually only provide this on request. They told me they would email an estimate along with the results of the vehicle inspection. I have followed up with at least 4 phone calls and one email. and still no estimate or inspection results. I finally received an estimate on Monday, but no detail of inspection. Estimate included front and rear brake service.... after they told me on Thursday they were good. Where is the promised inspection report? How are the tires, shocks, cooling system? I have no idea. I am new to the area and in search of a good mechanic. I have a 20 year old truck that I know needs some work and I'm prepared to spend some money on it. I own 2 other cars and a travel trailer. Also, a friend has asked my opinion about Big O Tires. I told her that I cannot recommend unless she has no questions and knows exactly what needs done. read more

I had these guys check the thickness of my brakes and they ended up recommending to replace the brakes and the rotors in the back. The technician explained to me that they don't machine rotors about 5 times to me even though I never asked them to nor did I want them to, I am aware that's an old practice which is why I didn't inquire about it. When I drove off the lot everything seemed fine until I got on the highway and my car started rattling to shit. I pulled over and told myself there's no way they just didn't tighten my lug nuts right? Well sure enough I get out and I can spin 9 of the 10 lugs nuts on my front tires with just my hands. Ridiculous level of incompetence. I'm glad I didn't get in a car accident on the freeway at 60 mph surrounded by rush hour traffic. I tightened the lugs myself with the kit that came with my car on the side of the freeway in my business clothes, not very cool. When I took it back to them to make it right they only torqued down the lugs, no offer of even a partial refund for doing a garbage job on my car. Worrisome how little follow up there was from the store or from corporate on this issue, not interested in going to any of their locations going forward. I know most people haven't worked in a tire shop but I have, and I can tell you how truly ridiculous it is to not tighten the lugs on an entire tire let alone two. Tightening is just the first step, then you're supposed to torque them down after that. Who knows what else they missed. What a joke. read more

Don't let them touch your car. For the first time in my life I had someone else change the oil in 2 of my cars. This was done at Big 0 Tires in Renton, WA. I had time to change the oil this time and was very angry at the work that was done by Big 0. The work was done on 2 vehicles on separate visits on 2 different days. On both cars the drain bolt, filter and filler cap were severely overtorqued. I needed to use a wrench to remove the filler caps. The filter used on these Honda Civics was a Purolator V4612. The recommended filter is Purolator L14459. The diameter of the filter used was significantly narrower than the correct filter. This caused a slow leak on one of the cars. When the oil was changed, the oil was almost off the dipstick. These guys are going to find themselves in a lawsuit over negligent work like this. read more

Honest mechanics! I took my 2001 Chrysler in with what I thought was a bad battery. I also wanted tire rotation and an oil change. Since this is a cab forward configured car, the battery is located behind a panel in the wheel well, so replacing the battery is more costly than a conventionally wired battery. I was expectiing a bill of a couple hundred dollars. They told me the battery was fine, the electrical system is fine, so no need to replace the battery. So, I was pleasantly surprised at my $33 bill. read more

Up until my last visit to big O tires, I would have rated them five stars. Up until that point I have had great service. Even if there had been a minor mistake, it was taken care of and out with an expedient and more than fair manner. This time however after spending over $600 on a new set of tires, the car came out of the swap having the tires still containing the original oily protective film they have from the factory. In addition to this one of my chrome alloy wheels was scratched on their machine which balances the tires, which I found after my job they replaced the machine. I have been offered to have the tires replaced with any of my choice, however this is their highest rated tire, with the longest tire rating of wear, the best traction, and the best wet traction. I ended up cleaning them myself scrubbing them as I think they should have done out of the door. They described the scratch on my wheel as "superficial". I don't think that's the case. I am going to bring it in next week to give them a chance to make good on "buffing out" the scratch on the wheel. I don't know what to do after that as I don't think that's going to fix it. I will give them a chance to re-earn the five star rating with my next visit as all my previous visits event fantastic. They're fast, prompt, honest, and will do just about anything any type of job you bring in. My wheel was never fixed but I'm not going to hold one employees screw up against a lifetime record of good. read more

I brought in Jane Honda because I thought she needed new front brake pads, based upon what other mechanics at Stingray Auto in Seattle had told me earlier in the year. Turns out, my brakes are just fine (50% front / 70% rear). Stingray had also given me a laundry list of repairs that 'absolutely needed' to be done - come to find out? It was all bullshit. All I really need to replace right now is a couple of drive belts, and I'll do the outer tie rods down the road. They do pretty good service and the girl at the desk remembers everyone's name, even if you only came in once. But the manager is bipolar or something, he gave my wife a hard time because they usually do out oil changes and we had somebody else do the 100K mile service, which is apparently bad form. But in my book you shouldn't give your customers a hard time if you want them to come back. But their oil changes are the cheapest, so we'll probably continue to go there. read more

Buyer Beware! They have serviced our cars for more than 10 years and thought they were doing a good job. Wrong! I think they used to be a good shop, but with high turnover and cutting corners, they are now horrible. The last oil change, they over torqued the bolt on the oil pan and thus I had an oil leak. Because they were not able to get me in, I went to another reputable shop. They found this shotty work and needed to replace the oil pan. We called Steve, the owner, and he wanted to call the other shop. He told them to plug the hole and not replace the oil pan because he had to pay for it. They refused. After agreeing to pay for the work, he tried to back out of it. Eventually he paid for it, but would not meet us as scheduled and mailed us a check. Now I found when they replaced the tensioner, they used an after market product, not Honda. I now have to pay to have that replaced because it failed. AND....can anyone tell me why I put $140k miles on a water pump/timing chain and need another one just after 10k miles? Find another mechanic! read more

I had a flat, so I took my car to Big O with the spare on and the flat tire in the trunk. 45 minutes later, they called to let me know that they fixed the tire, put it on and stowed the spare back underneath the vehicle and charged me... $0. Woke up to a completely flat tire on my new to me/used car. Called around to a few local places but these guys were the first to pick up and have space for me to get the car in immediately. I filled the tire with air and hit the road. Pat took care of my check in, he was very friendly and courteous. Was able to get back to me with an update on the car. Supposedly I ran over a nail, they did a quick patch for free and I was out the door in about 30 minutes. Overall, my experience was great... However their prices are definitely more expensive than other shops in the area as I also got a quote on a full set of tires. read more

I called and asked for a price on some tires and an alignment. Steve told me he had lots of tires, come on down. I told him I would like a price before I drive down to the store so he put me on hold. Eventually I decided I'd just have to drive over there. I arrived at 2:15 And we quickly decided on some tires, scan the check engine light, oil change, and an alignment. At 4:00 I noticed they still hasn't done anything except scan the code so I asked what the eta was. Steve told me, "Hey, it's like going to the airport." I told him that it was not like going to the airport and again asked for an eta. He started arguing with me so I told him I had been there for an hour and forty five minutes and they hadn't even started working on my car. I said they still had an alignment to do and there was already a car on the rack that had been there..." he interrupts me and says "an hour and a half? It's been they're for an hour and a half? I know, you've been here for an hour and a half. You've got things to do. Probably need to go home and eat dinner but you didn't invite us. It's been an hour and a half." At first I didn't know what this guy's problem was but it was obvious he was mocking me so I told him he didn't need to be a smart ass, I just asked for an eta. He told me to "shut up and go sit down." I said I would not shut up and go sit down so he said, "well you're really irritating me." And then went out in the shop. I called the big o tires customer relations phone number and they said they'd forward my complaint to the regional manager but I haven't heard back from them. When I went to leave I opened the door and discovered my floor mat was covered in grease. Also while I was there I noticed their waiting room was crawling with ants. I was a first time customer! Very upset that they are not honest about the business. They gave me an estimate for something but did not deliver. My car is still making the same sound after they've looked and "fixed" my car. Very upset because they cheat you out of your money but do not care about the product. They probably don't care to retain customers. People work hard in their jobs, to make money, to provide for their family etc. a car is a big part of their life. When you take it to mechanic, you expect them to do their best and be honest about the work they perform. They do a half ass job! They should take down their sign that says "a reputation you can ride on". It's all BS!!! read more

I called ahead (because of yelp reviews) and said that I needed to make an appointment, as my tire had a leak. They said no appointment necessary for that, and to just come in. I did, and they got me in right away (about 9 am on a wednesday). They had a waiting room with a few chairs and toys in it, so that was nice for my daughter. It took maybe 30-40 minutes, and they didn't charge me for it. The man at the front desk said that our brake pads are worn down to basically nothing, so I'll probably go back in and get that taken care of in a couple of days. Man -- be prepared for them to try to sell you things you don't need...using fear, etc This time it was an alignment that would "Void the Road Hazard" and needing tires when I don't really. Apparently they aren't used to people that know what they want, and what they don't. Also, after they put on two tires my Tire Pressure System Blinks. They say "It happens, try resetting and go to the dealer if that doesn't fix it". Meaning, even thought it was working fine before you came in, we take no responsibility for the current problem. I called my dealer and said the only way it would be doing this is if they messed up something. I've had four or five sets of tires put on this car, never NEVER had this problem the other times. I'm not coming back to Big O. I forgot that I had this experience here last time and the told me i needed brakes and it was urgent...i declined and they lasted me another year. I'm not coming back here no matter the price and I'm not forgetting. read more
