Changing the fluid "might" help but he didn't recommend it. I sold the truck Today I brought my 4-Runner in for an oil change. They always check the entire car and told me I needed new rear brakes. I've been coming here for a few years and have always had such a positive experience! I first brought my 2005 civic in because another mechanic told me I needed a new timing belt for a ridiculous amount of money, and after some research found out that it would be way less expensive here. Once they did their free diagnostic check they told me I didn't even need the new timing belt! I've never felt like they were trying to take advantage, they are just really standup genuine guys. Time in: 12:30PM, Time out: 1:10PM You know Erik respects and is knowledgeable about cars cause even at 5k mileage since last oil change, he said it should be fine (synthetic oil is a premium due to its viscosity and ability to handle heat). What he doesn't know is that I drove it pretty hard to California and back. He goes above and beyond to treat ANY car with respect. Topped off any liquids needed for the car and does an inspection. All free of charge. You can tell he's not here to screw you. Jason was also a pleasure to work with to set up an appointment and just provide estimates for pricing. Will definitely come back again. Jason was extremely responsive and flexible as we were trying to get my MIL's old Jeep towed to their shop! We eventually got it there and he did an inspection at no charge (which is awesome in itself), but then was very honest and transparent with his assessment. I figured a 1996 vehicle would have a ton of issues, but he pointed out what was good, what would need future attention, and what he thought needed immediate attention. We took all of his recommendations and he did the work quickly, AND at an extremely good rate. I haven't found a mechanic I've felt comfortable with in a LONG time, but now I've got someone I trust, who I know will do the job right, and fairly! I was worried about a brake problem on my Prius, but wasn't sure if it was something to be concerned about. I went to Toyota, but they wouldn't do anything more than a visual inspection (even with a coupon) unless I paid $190. I was able to schedule a check up with Performance. They did a full inspection of the brake system, were fast, reliable and honest. Turned out that I didn't need to do anything for several thousand miles and when the time comes to replace the brake pads it will still be much cheaper than Toyota. Will be coming back! read more
