I recently had a front-end allinment and it didn't feel right. So took my car back and had it redone. After they where done I asked if there was a problem and was told that my rear right side of the car was inherent curbed or had been in an accident and this is why my car was pulling and he said it would cost more than my car is worth to fix or that I could see if the manufacturer made shimes to place in there. After I left I went home and put my car on jack stands checked the work that was done and found both sides of my tierods where lose the retaining bolts that keep the tierods from losing where not even tight so after that I took my car to someone else. And was told there is nothing wrong with my car. Don't trust them they don't tighten bolts. So you have to go back with other problems. Beware. read more

BEWARE - appears to be no fixed pricing. I went to Big O to get a nail removed from a tire. On Big O's website is says tire repair is $20. They charged me $37. When I told them about their website price they said 'we don't honor that'. So Beware, the price Big O advertise is not the actual price. They did not tell me the price when I dropped the car off so I assumed it was going to be $20. read more

Avoid at all costs Tires are basically a loss leader for them to upsell you on alignments and other services. If you don't want several upsell phone calls throughout the day of your install, do not buy tires here. Wish I would have gone elsewhere. read more

AVOID the BOULDER BIG O store - it's terrible. Go to the Longmont store - they're excellent. I've had a number of poor experiences with the Boulder store. I had stopped using them and had transferred my business to the Longmont store until I had a blow out in Boulder and limped into the Boulder Big O on Valmont and ended up buying 4 new tires. When I had an issue with one of the tires under warranty it turned into a customer service nightmare. After dealing patiently with a new customer service rep (in training), who was polite but very slow, I arrived the next day to find that my tire had not been ordered and that I needed to come back again tomorrow. When I called ahead the next day a different customer service rep (Steffen) was rude and disrespectful, so much so that I decided to cut my losses and simply hung up the phone, only to be called back and told "it was rude to hang up on someone and never to come to the store". I then did what I should have done in the first place - I went to the Longmont store where they quickly resolved the issue with a smile. That extra phone call from Steffen motivated me to write this bad review and hopefully spare others from this poor experience. Not all Big O stores are created equal. Avoid the Boulder Big O at all costs, even when you think it will be easier or more convenient. Don't do it - go to Longmont. read more

My girlfriend brought her 2004 Subaru Outback to the Big O Tire in El Jubel. She got Charged 1400$ for a new set of breaks, they took advantage of her being a woman for sure, they replaced 3 out of 4 of her rotors and did not change any of the pads on her calipers. The fact they think they can take advantage of her just because she's a female, I wouldn't recommend to go here, if that's not enough. I brought in my nissan juke to get aligned, they messed up some on my front break pads so I replaced them myself. To be honest just learn how to fix your own car it's not that hard and most of the time your just getting your money stolen from you right in front of your face, and this place definitely will steal your money parts and time, they truly do not have any boundaries or morals. Imagined if her breaker failed and she drove into a tree. Truly your life and your cars life is not taken into account at this establishment. read more

I had my tires replaced by this company a month ago. I got a nail in my tire (not on the sidewall so totally repairable) so I brought it in to be fixed. They told me it wasn't repairable and then they measured the tread on all my tires and said they were so low I had to replace all four.... Even though I had just done that a month ago. So I told them I was going somewhere else because that didn't make any sense. Then they said well actually let's measure again and look at the tire again. Then they completely switched up and said they could repair the tire and actually the tread on all my other tires was totally fine. I ran over a screw and got a flat tire Saturday morning, I was worried about being able to get it patched over the weekend when this shop is the only place open nearby on the weekends. Dan was amazingly communicative and kind, and Joe was a wonderful mechanic who even made sure all of my tires were full and helped me to reset my check engine light. Dan even put my repaired tire on for me at the shop when I picked it up! I've never been treated with such care and understanding at a chain before- it felt more like a family business kinda vibe. They're insanely busy on the weekends due to being the only place open in Boulder yet they still efficiently crank out great work with great service. Can't recommend these guys enough. I'll be back for all of my tire and general car maintenance needs in the future. read more

We have been here 3-4 times with our car and truck for various flat tires, installs and alignments. Each time we have left more than happy and all work was done efficiently, correctly and with a smile. This shop does what they say they will do, when they say they will do it, politely and efficiently. They work with you to maintain your car on schedule and handle any necessary warranty issues. Prior to driving over 1,200 miles from Dallas, TX, the car already pulled to the right so an alignment was what it needed. I went in and informed them of the issue and all went well. The alignment was performed properly. The 1-star rating comes from an extra service they were trying to sell me. They informed me that all four struts were leaking and have to be repaired/replaced. I asked how much it would cost and was told it will be about $700+. I told them I'm surprised that not one, not two, but all four were leaking given that all struts were replaced by our mechanic before leaving Dallas. I informed the caller to leave the struts alone and just continue with the alignment. My wife then went and looked at comments left by previous customers and found a similar one written about 7 months ago. Beware of extras you may not need. Do Not come to Big O' on 28th and Valmont. I was quoted a price for shocks, struts, alignment, links. Then after they had it for four hours, I got a call saying it would be &400 more that the manager forgot to add things. I said No. do the work for the quote I was given. When I went to pick up, they did not align the rear, instill links or adjust emergency brake as was in the quote. Manager was a jerk and could not be bothered to explain anything except I was quoted wrong!!! Truly the worst service I have ever received. And I bought four new tires here in Spring. read more

My daughter took her car in (3/18/23) for an oil change, rotate, and air filter..... she told them she was going on a road trip and wanted everything checked. They told her she needed a break flush since the car has 33k miles..... we did a flush at 25k, also the receipt shows they rotated the tires. She came over today (3/20/23) and I noticed the tire on the right rear had chalk marks on it... as I looked it was the same tire that they (Big O) patched a month ago in the same spot. So, I called the Manager and started asking why the flush and about the rotate...He stated that if the flush wasn't completed here they would never have known, and as far as the rotate "just bring it in and we will rotate them" why would I ever take the car back when it seems like you're running a scam on college kids especially girls. They seemed to take care of my truck. I paid for my alignment and they could not produce a report. The guy at the front desk got self indignant when I asked for it and they could not produce - asked if I thought they were "lying". I keep my reports to see if any of my offroading messed with the alignment. They also left plastic trash in my truck. I'm not sure why they needed to be inside my truck except to drive it into and out of the bay. They said it would take less than 2 hours and they would call. They never called. I had to stop by the store to see if it was finished 7 hours after drop off. The QC and management in this shop seems to be off. read more

They refuse to top off your fluids, even if they are empty. I got an oil change early bc my power steering fluid was low. I'm guessing topping off fluids would have cost them a few dollars max? They charged me over $45 for an oil change. Yet, they had the time to call me to try to upsell other services. I am so grateful for the amazing customer service I received today at the boulder location. When they ran out of time yesterday for the alignment on my car I was disappointed to have to come back a second day to get it done (after buying more expensive tires that they had in stock so I could get everything done same day). Well they went above and beyond to wave the cost of the alignment because of my difficulties (they even tried to stay late yesterday to help). I am so thankful for such an amazing gesture, especially during these tough times where money tight from not being allowed to go back to work yet. I will be forever a loyal customer of Big O Tires. Big O was a lifesaver! First of all, they are one of if not the only repair place open on Sundays. My skid plate came partially off so while it was an easy fix, it was not one I could do myself because I also didn't have the parts. My car got towed to their shop, and I was in and out in ten minutes without having to pay much! I was missing the screws, so they got resourceful and used zip ties so I could drive out of there and wait until my next oil change to repair it fully. Thank you for the quick help! These guys are great! I came in 20 min to closing with a screw in my tire and living in Thornton but stuck in Boulder. Not only did these cats replace my tires they worked with me to get me something I could afford!! Stayed after closing to be me back on the road and home!! I really gave them the benefit of the doubt when I first bought the tires and three out of four were not what I had purchased, but since then they have really driven it home that they are the last place you should put your money. When I first got these tires, I had to go back because they were mismatched. When they corrected this, I was offered no apology. This would become par for the course for their god awful service. But, the conman like nature of their manager, clearly documented in other reviews, was shocking. Stephen Burger treats customers awful. He lied to me and gaslighted me to try to sell me a set of tires when I was trying to get a warranty honored. Apparently this works a lot. He told me I was stupid for buying an AWD vehicle and expecting him to honor the warranty for my tire - he told me it wasn't his fault I didn't understand what I bought. He rolled his eyes and insisted there was no way on Earth he could fix my tire in any way. The thing is, he didn't even look at it. He had apparently decided as soon as I walked in that I was buying new tires from him. Let me say that again: without even looking at my tire or visually inspecting any of my tires or even walking outside to look at my car: he tells me he can't fix my tire and can't honor my warranty or put the tire back onto my car unless I buy more. He never even looked, he had already decided I was this morning's mark when I walked in. Maybe it was because I was wearing a dress? For some reason, this guy thought I was going to respond to his gas lightning me by buying tires. Apparently this works for him a lot. Well, Stephen, it turns out there were plenty of other solutions aside from being forced to buy 3 more tires from you - I just had to go somewhere that does good business to find out. Apparently big o is only equipped to sell you new tires, not service them or honor warranties. This manager will lie to you and try to gaslight you instead of honoring a warranty. If you call him on it he will become hostile, raise his voice, and intimidate you until you leave. This is a terrible way to do business. Spend your money anywhere else. Seriously. This is the best! I bought tires from Big O a year ago and had then rotated as directed. My front tires showed excessive wear and so I brought my Santa Fe over for rotation and realignment. I was totally amazed an delighted when Cameron called and said the tires were warrantied and they would replace them for e. He said they had to order the tires but he was pretty certain I would have my car by 3PM. Done deal. He checked the fluids, replaced two filters and too me my brake were in good shape! Instead of the laundry list of 20 items that "should" be fixed, I had a short list of stuff that should be looked at in a few months. I went here because my truck was having trouble starting, which never happened before. They did the fuel pump and added on the crankshaft for a total of $1500. What do you know, it still has trouble starting. I go back and this time it's a $600 for a camshaft, and the mechanic "guarantees or my money back" that it will start right up. It starts once, then stalls on me the second time I start it up. I take it back. Now they hang onto it for a whole day (they never call you back, I took it here 3 times and I had to call back each time to get an update) and say they must have started it "50 times" with no trouble, and naturally I won't be getting any money back since now it works but maybe it's an intermittent electronic issue. So he switched the wires with the fog lights in case that is the problem. Guess what, it starts when I leave the lot, but again doesn't start the second time I need to start it. So over 2k and these guys can't get your car to start. Now they say I need a new oil pump and catalytic converter. Yeah right! Also, a mechanic should know that it's not a Cadillac converter. Of course they act nice to you, they are swindling you! read more

I paid Big-O $650 for work on my brakes. They said I needed a brake booster. I said "are you sure it isn't the master cylinder?" They said they were 90% sure it was the booster. The fix didn't work. I brought it back and they told me they fired that mechanic. Surprise - it turned out to be the master cylinder, which I found out after bringing it to a real mechanic and paying more money. If you need tires, go to Discount Tire. If you need any other work, go to a real mechanic. read more

Tldr - there's a reason this place has a far worse average score than every other tire shop in town. I wanted to schedule an appointment for 4 new tires and an oil change for a Saturday morning, so I went on their website and completed the form on Friday afternoon. Shortly afterwards, I received an automated (?) reply stating that there was an issue and that a service specialist would be contacting me soon, which never happened. This wasn't too concerning since I've worked and managed in the customer service field, so I understand that sometimes things get overwhelming. On Saturday morning, I called to schedule an appointment and was told "why don't you just bring it in?" I asked if they would be busy in an hour or two (I had to work a few hours) and was told that they would be able to get me "in and out." I showed up around 10 and was told that the new tires and oil change would take "one and a half, maybe two hours" which was fine with me. After about an hour sitting in their lobby, things started to get interesting. As I was looking at my phone, I gradually became aware of a conflict occurring at the front desk. A couple was arguing with the manager, apparently regarding some alignment work that Big O had done which was unsatisfactory. The manager refused to acknowledge the client's' complaint, insisting that the situation couldn't be what they described. It all culminated in the clients threatening legal action as they stormed out. Let me say that I have no idea who was in the right, but I found the manager's strategy of essentially accusing the couple of lying rather than taking the time to investigate the circumstances to be concerning. Anyways, at about the two hour mark (the high end of the initial time estimate)vidmer-qedkov-7tAbry, I see my vehicle come off the lift and get moved to the parking area for pick up. I watch as the technician hands the work ticket to the desk staff, who asks if the oil change was done. The technician says no, and off my truck goes, back out of sight. Half an hour later, the desk staff informs me that they can't perform the complimentary alignment because "the bushings are shot" (more on this later). A half hour after that (now at about the three hour mark) I ask the desk staff about the status of my vehicle and he disappears for a few moments before returning to inform me that they are draining the oil. At this point I express my frustration that we are over an hour beyond his initial worst case estimate for time and the work still wasn't done, to which he responds "I can't predict how long stuff will take." Which is understandable, but apparently he also couldn't update me as delays mounted. Finally, almost three and a half hours after they began, I got my vehicle back and left. Oh yeah, and my bushings which were "shot" and prevented them from completing the service that they offer? I took my vehicle to my mechanic (who has well over 4.5 stars on this app) and it turns out that they have some normal wear and tear, but are perfectly serviceable. read more

Great service at Boulder's Big O this weekend. I've brought my cars in for two sets of tires here before. Friendly team, they took good care of my wife and we're super friendly to my daughter (2.5 yrs). I always feel like going in to get a car serviced is the last thing I'd let my wife do alone...but not here. I haven't been in in a while but got over there because I had a slow leak in one tire. They figured out a small problem and pretty much fixed it without charge. No doubt I will be back here the next time I need tires. read more

I am really disappointed in management's response to an issue that happened today involving my daughter and her Chevy truck that she brought in. Our daughter lives and resides in Boulder, and the windshield wipers stopped working on her truck. We love the Big O Tires shop in Longmont, so we recommended to her to visit the Big O in Boulder. BIG mistake. She unwittingly signed an agreement to pay a diagnostic fee of $89 to have them diagnose the issue. After a very quick diagnostic test, she was told that it would cost over $900 to have the wipers repaired "because they have to take the steering wheel apart". She declined the $900 service and left there feeling totally taken advantage of, and down $89 as well. I stopped in there after work only to get told by an employee that they had one of their best diagnosticians working on the truck, and that's why they have to charge what they did. The assistant manager didn't offer any compensation toward the $89 fee. I would NOT recommend this establishment to anyone. read more

Overpriced. I work nearby and had them do an oil change. I also needed a headlight changed so I asked them to put in a new headlight as well. They charged me $32 labor to change a headlight (on top of the price of the headlight). Changing a headlight takes less than 2 minutes. Maybe it was my fault for asking them to do it, but seemed rediculous. The guy even laughed as he read me the bill. This was after they told me they would give me a good deal because they always park cars in front of my office. I talked to a few guys I work with who have all had problems with being overcharged. I actually went in one day to talk about a snow tire promotion they had going on and the salesman told me he couldn't honor it because it was snowing. That is why I wanted the snow tires... Quick service, but won't be back nor recommend. read more
