Went for an oil change- was there for nearly three hours?!! Luckily I had auto work done elsewhere the same week because they identified there was no oil in my car. This shop, in fact, did nothing to my car after wasting hours of my day there for a simple oil change service. They had me come back in and actually performed the service that they were originally supposed to, but at the expense of my time and potential damage to my vehicle. These are my guys. Great crew, positive attitudes all around, honest hardworking guys. I always go to them for all my regular maintenance, and whenever I've had a problem. I drive a lot more than average, no exaggeration probably three times more than average, 100K just in the last three years. They've kept me going. I go to them for all the big stuff, and sometimes they've cut me a break on smaller things like a fluids top up. I've had all sorts of services done, brakes, lights, a random throttle body issue... 150K mile service, trans fluid flush... etc etc. My battery was dying the other day, the car had a weak start, I only had a couple days off and i was worried about being able to get to work when I was due back. I'm flexible I was able to come back next day but they fit me in and got me taken care of. I do try to take advantage of their knowledge, experience, and enjoy picking their brains a little when I go in. I never have to worry about them trying to take advantage of me. I learn a little something new from them every time that helps me become a better car owner. Occasionally I go to the Petaluma location if it's inconvenient for me to get to Seb and they're great too, in my experience. But this is my preferred location. The technician discovered and repaired an issue that could have been a problem down the line, there was a little confusion on whether the item was covered as the company that provides the extended warranty company initially rejected the claim. But, Ywaldo & Chris M. patiently sorted it out with the CarMax team and the repairs were ultimately covered by CarMax. I got a flat tire/blowout on 101 on a trip to Sebastopol for an all-day workshop. I made it to the BigO on my spare over lunchtime and Ywaldo was able to immediately get my tire ordered to take care of me on the same day. Last Friday it came to my attention that I needed an alignment & new shocks so I contacted Big O Tires and spoke with Ywaldo Gascue. We continued our conversation via text on Saturday evening & Sunday afternoon. He explained what needed to be done & ordered the parts so that I could be taken care of first thing Monday morning. Do NOT go to this place of business if you value your money and want your car fixed correctly. They totally ripped me off and the owner is hiding from me. I returned two defective alternators and my car didn't even need one! they left tires right in front of the door and I fell over them and got banged up and yet I remained calm and reasonable after all of this. Then after paying 1300 for work and parts I did not need I kindly asked for a refund of the second defective alternator and the owner went dark. they are awful! Beware. read more

I went by there recently because I could not find a wrench small enough to remove one of the nuts used on the custom rims of my Jeep. They were able to help me out no problem! 5 Stars I can't say enough good things about Big O Tires in Sebastopol! I brought in my lowered Tesla after pulling out of a parking spot and catching the cement parking block, which pulled the belly pan out from under my car. I had first gone to Pep Boys since they were closer to where it happened, but after 25 minutes, they told me they didn't have the lift to handle my car. I usually go to the Big O Tires in Novato, which is always amazing, so I called the Sebastopol location. They assured me they had the lift for my lowered car and could help. I drove in today, and they were incredibly fast--reattaching the belly pan in just 15 minutes! Everyone there was so helpful and friendly. Bought a groupon online for full synthetic oil change. The price was $63. Of course, have the car being worked on and they tell me the cost is actually an addition $23. Groupon only pays for 5 quarts not 6 & "additonal fee's apply" for disposal of the oil. Feels like deceptive marketing on the part of Big O and Groupon. Given that ALL vehicles will incur these "additional charges", why not have the price on Groupon actually show $86 for a oil change? read more

So kind and helpful when I was having a problem with the oil in my car. They went above and beyond.

I went in for an oil change with a group on. Their regular price is around $100. My group on was for about $64 but then I was charged about $28 when I got there. How is that a savings? Why not include standard fees in the Groupon? Then I get my car back and several things started going wrong. First, 5 miles down the road the tire light goes on. Thankfully I reset it and it hasn't come back on. A few days later my car had issues starting. Again, I'm super lucky that hasn't continued. What has been ongoing is my gas meter is no longer working and the meter that makes the gas pump shut off when the tank is full is not working as well. I'm a single mom. I sought out a group on for a reason, only to have them charge me nearly full price in a round about way and return my car broken. read more

I have had especially great service at Big O for a number of years. Have bought ties and had oil service for years, always professional, respectful and kind fellows. At least three times I have stopped by with an issue and they have helped evaluate and fix an issue on the spot. Just this week I had a surprise problem on Friday afternoon and the folks fixed it over the next 3 hrs, including overtime so I could be ready for along drive the next day. I have been going to this Big O for years and years and I had always had a wonderful experience. They used to be awesome and always helped me out when I needed a good deal on tires. However in the past year or so it's really gone down hill. I've had them trying to sell me services I don't need, thinking I just won't notice on my bill. On top of that my recent oil change they lost a screw to my skid pan, resulting in it scraping the road while I was driving. When I went back they said they had fixed it, however when I went to a different place for an oil change they told me it hadn't been fixed just shoved back up there. All they had to do was replace one screw... Now the skid pan is damaged and I will have to buy a new one. Unfortunately won't be using Big O In Sebastopol anymore. read more

After getting an oil change they gave me a bid for $3,384 for front end work including tie rods, control arms etc, transmission fluid, valve cover replacement due to leakage, etc. Went to my mechanic who inspected my vehicle and told me none of this was necessary, but noted that the front wheel bearings may need repacking in the near future at a cost of $380. I wish we'd never bought tires here. We got the warranty, so we've had to keep bringing our car in for tire issues. Every time, we call ahead to schedule so that neither my husband or I has to sit indefinitely, so that we can actually get to school pick up in time or whatever. And every time, we still end up sitting, sometimes waiting a couple hours for anyone to have the time to patch the problem tire. Most recently, my husband sat a couple hours and was sent away because the technician wouldn't believe or couldn't understand that we were very sure that the tire was really going flat every other day and he insisted the issue was just the sensor. So of course I sent my husband back and he had to sit for hours again and the technician performed the exact same basic inspection and tried to dismiss the problem as a faulty sensor. This time at least my husband insisted they look closer and sure enough they only needed ten minutes to find the faulty valve and replace it. For the number of hours we've spent just sitting for these people to spend minutes on small fixes, whatever price they gave me when I bought the tires in the first place wasn't worth it. read more

Very disappointed with Big O Sebastopol. I bring my car in for a very "simple" screw removal tire repair and rotation/mount and balance. Well they removed the screw "supposedly" but absolutely failed to balance my tires which creates speed shakes when taking my car on a family trip. Took my car to Firestone and they found a nail in the same spot of the tire but on a different side of the car due to the rotation but they confirmed that they didn't even bother to balance my tires at all and just rotated. I was charged $40 for the "rotation and mount and balance" and another $40 for the repair. It's apparent these guys either don't know what they are doing or simply don't care and have no problem taking your money. My advice, always buy and deal with your tires at a Costco cause those guys really put the care into their work, or just go to someone else. These guys at Big O just take your money. I used BiG O for years and recommended it to people. It USED to be okay. I brought my car in to change an alternator. When I got it back,there were strange sounds that the car wasn't making before I brought it in. The "Manager" said he would charge me $180 to inspect it when all he really needed to do was connect it to the machine that checks the codes. from other peoples reviews on YELP , it seems like more damage gets done then repair at BIG O's. They make sure you'll have something to come back with and charge you with a 180$ inspection to start. needless to say, I Highly recommend to find a different mechanic in Sebastopol. read more

I had a blown tire and went to Big-O Tires because it was the closest place and I was driving around on my spare tire. After the tire replacement, the rep, Javier Garcia, claimed my front brake pads were metal on metal, urging an immediate $500 service. I wanted a second opinion, and I happen to work for a tree company that has an amazing onsite mechanic. The next day I consulted my workplace mechanic who found the pads were fine. He said my brakes were absolutely no where near being metal on metal. Big-O Tires lied, attempting to overcharge and extort. As a trusting customer, their dishonesty is disappointing.
