I took my girlfriend's Honda in a couple of weeks ago for a possible leak. My first thought was the obvious, a nail. I showed up early and they took the car in right away. They pulled the tire off and brought it to me. Bringing me the tire and showing my the damage before they did anything shows honesty. The damage was much worse then I suspected. The leak was caused by some type of road debris which (I saw for myself) was too large to allow for a patch. So obviously I had to buy a new tire. Within minutes the new tire was installed and I was on my way. The staff was great at getting the car in early and resolving this. I really appreciate the way they handled the job. If I could select zero stars I would! Never go to Big O Tires at 1221 East Monte Vista Ave, Vacaville, CA 95688. I called to get a simple quote for replacing my front and rear brake pads, and they quoted me over $1,400--insisting that replacing rotors was "mandatory." I explained that I had just had an oil change with a full multi-point inspection, and my rotors were confirmed to be in good condition. I was then placed on hold. When the representative came back, he continued to push rotor replacement (or resurfacing) and said I'd need to bring my car in for a brake inspection. I again stated that my rotors didn't need service and simply asked for a quote for pads only. At that point, he interrupted me, told me to "let him talk," and then hung up on me when I tried to finish my request. This is unacceptable. Not only had they replaced my brakes and rotors within the last few years, but this kind of aggressive upselling and rude treatment is a terrible business practice. It felt like they were trying to pressure me into unnecessary work just to increase the bill. I will never return, and I strongly caution others--be careful, ask questions, and don't let them push you into work you don't need. read more

A day ago I telephoned this company thinking it was Americas Tire which is down the street. I spoke with a guy named Rick Huse. I asked if the number called was Americas Tire to which he replied "Yes", however they were bought out recently by Big Discount Tire Pro. I subsequently asked for a price quote for BF Goodrich g-force A/S Plus set of 4 tires. Rick told me he would e-mail me a quote, however because of the buyout the quote would come from the new company. Shortly afterwards I received a quote from Rick reflecting a price of $1,264.09. I called on the phone at which time he again reiterated they were formally Americas Tire. I though the price was high and went directly to the Americas Tire website and found the exact tire, installed, out the door for $732.00, Over $500 less then Rick quoted me. I again called Rick who told me if I ordered from the Americas Tire website the quote would be invalid as they had changed hands and the website had not caught up with the change. I shot off a complaint to Americas Tire as I believed I was being price gouged. I was called back almost immediately by the Americas Tire Manager who informed me I had actually called the old Big O tire company, not Americas Tire. Obviously Rick's motivation was to sell me tires and rip me off at the same time. These type of tactics are reprehensible and a direct reflection on the companies sales tactics. I was having trouble with the low pressure warning on my vehicle and stopped at Big O Tires for assistance. They immediately checked my tires and adjusted the air pressure. That fixed my warning light. They were very courteous, nice and helpful. They're customer service was outstanding. read more

My daughter was in the Bay Area and hit a pothole that popped her tire. After getting the rim checked out and the tire changed at a nearby Big O location, the car sensor kept coming on, indicating that there was a problem with the new tire. While in Vacaville, she called and spoke to Rico, on Monte Vista, who asked her to bring the car in for an inspection. He was extremely thorough and explained that all was good but the issue was caused by the car detecting a different height in the new tire. He reset the sensor and patiently allowed me to ask several follow-up questions. Due to Rico's knowledge, patience, and professionalism, I would definitely recommend this location because of the excellent customer service that we received. read more

I've been to this location twice now and can say I'm thoroughly impressed with the customer service and quality of work. My first visit was for performance tires that needed replacement. The tires themselves didn't live up to my expectations, but the manager worked with me and the manufacturer to get them swapped for tires I'm happy with. I also recently needed break pads replaced on a Mercedes. Rather then try to sell me on front and rear, they were transparent and honest and only sold me what I needed (in this case, just the rear needed replacement). Not only did this save me a lot of cash, the quote for the rear pads and rotors was extremely competitive. Big O isn't just tires. Breaks, shocks, struts, wheels, batteries, oil, and general services are all offered. The manager Ben is outstanding and deserves to be commended for his extraordinary customer service skills and commitment to a positive customer experience for everyone. Highly recommend. read more

He visited this location on Thursday the 6th of this month trying to get his lug locks removed from his Subaru. He checked other locations in the area and after being quoted ridiculous amounts he was lucky enough to come across this great team. Ben Ly, the GM (or just manager), states it's not "defective" (after admitting that's what the issue is) and I am not getting a new tire. Told him that's unethical and not right, so he asks me to leave the store. I have filed a complaint with both the Better Business Bureau and Big O Tires Corporate. While there are many choices for tire sales in Vacaville - Big O is the place to go. I have been a customer for years and their service is second to none. Tony on the front desk is great with any questions and always researches the answer. If I can't make an appointment, I will leave my vehicle with them, they can usually turn around in a few hours. Its a testament to their popularity that appointments are recommended. Their alignments are good for six months so I usually go back before they expire and take advantage of the free check, although I think the unlimited plan is the best deal. When buying tires, they always tell you their specials first. They are dog friendly too - their waiting room is clean with free coffee and TV. Its just a warm inviting place to have your car taken care. read more

I used to always say that i always go to Big O Tires. Now i am never going to say that anymore. I show up an hour befor closing, 2 bays are open, i ask if i can get a tire patched. They tell me, "No, sorry but we close in an hour and we don't work overtime." So i go down the street to America's Tire. Not only are they working past closing but tire patches are FREE. Took my car in for a shaking while braking and they ended up blowing my entire cooling system in my Range Rover and it cost me $5,327.10 to have repaired and they are unwilling to pay any of that amount even tho I dropped my car off in perfect condition minus the shake. I went and ahead and filed a complaint with the BAR. Ben the manager is still unwilling to pay any amount of the repair on my car. So BEWARE because they'll drive your car like they stole it and NOT tell you that anything happened either! so then your totally surprised when you get into your vehicle and it reads in red letters LOW COOLANT when they knew it happened and even filled the coolant twice and didn't even ask me if that was okay. Didn't tell me anything. Ben the manager is unwilling to do anything for me and just standing by his employees stating they wouldn't "dog" my car out during a test drive and that they drove it 7-8 miles TWICE, totaling 14-16 miles but they put 25 miles on my car and played with my radio stations. Oh and they didn't give me any documentation either for that visit on 9/1/22. I hope a CEO sees this and reaches out to make things right for a young mom who just took a huge financial hit due to their negligence. read more

I was so impressed! I went to big o to get bigger tires on my truck. I was wanting something nice but not to big where it would wear on my wheel well. Zero stars-not an option with Yelp. Is it Big "O" Tires or Big "ZERO" Tires? Mom lives in Vacaville and called at 7:30am a few days ago and asked if she could make an appointment same day for an alignment. They agreed on 10:30am. They called back to ask if my parents could leave their car for two to three hours, and the parents said yes. They got there at 10:15, checked in, again was told two to three hours. They left and called Big O back at 2:10pm because they hadn't called to say it was ready to go. Big O hadn't even started, and the rude jerk of an employee, Nathan, proceeded to tell my parents that customers with appointments got service first. My parents reminded them that they in fact HAD made an appointment, and he stammered and stuttered and said ok, it's going in right now. When the parents went back to the shop at 3:35p and they still hadn't started, and had NO customers with at least five guys standing around, the Big O staff made some sorry excuse about how they only have one alignment station, and needed a clear three hour window. Ummm, it was 3:35p and you close at 6:00pm....you no longer have three hours....how was that going to work??? Per my mom: "I guess when I called, showed up for my appointment, and then called again, they didn't know they only had one station, and couldn't accommodate an alignment, which they advertise they do." Don't make the mistake of thinking these guys are professionals just because it's a big corporation, as one of the employees told us! Yeah - Nathan literally pulled that card. He said, "we're a big corporation...we have to provide service to people with appointments first"! Haha, just not my family who had an appointment, apparently. Just because Big O is a big corporation doesn't mean that the franchise isn't locally owned and has some stake in its community. I can tell you that they lost out on our business and we will definitely tell all of our hot rod and classic car show friends who are looking for a place to go NOT to come here.
