I brought my 2020 Toyota Tacoma in to have the fluids replaced, engine oil, front differential, transfer case, transmission and rear differential. The truck was ready at the end of the day as promised. But when I came to pay, the invoice did not state they completed all the fluids exchanges as promised. When I called them on it, I was told I could simply crawl under the truck and remove the fill cap and look and see it had fresh oil. This left me speechless. I did not know what to to say. I should have pushed back and insisted they give me a invoice that stated that they did the service as promised. I even removed the skid plates off the bottom of the truck to make it easier for them to work on it. I would give a five star review but can only give a 3 star in light of the invoice issue and the crass attitude. read more

Little over charged for the work performed(repair took under 20 minutes) but car is fixed so it is what it is. At the very least I would expect all the parts that were removed during the repair to be reinstalled once completed. Air duct was resting on the top of the motor when I popped the hood for an oil change later the same day. Plastic push pins were lost, had to go buy some. read more

Driving from SF to Reno several of my sensor lights went on. I was terrified. I first stopped at AAA Auto repair (I'm a member) and they said they were on lunch and a diagnostic might take several hours to figure out. I then drove two doors down to Auto Master. I was due for an oil change and based on my last service at the dealership and my car being 7 years old I thought the brakes needed to be checked and the fluids probably needed to be addressed. I went in thinking I would need a major service. They suggested a minor service and let them check everything first and they would let me let me know what was actually needed. My breaks were fine, the fluids were topped off , oil changed, tires rotated and new filter for the cabin was all that was needed. They are a bit more than the dealership in the cost of the oils change but less expensive on the rest. They had my car done quickly as well. They have a customer for life! read more

Finally found an honest, trustworthy, knowledgeable and family-owned repair shop. Before bringing my 2003 Toyota 4Runner in their shop, Les Schwab had replaced the two front shock absorbers, four brakes and one wheelbearing and still failed to correct the humming and vibrations problems. Accumulated over $2,000 of repair bills, so I brought it to the Import Masters Auto repair shop and Martin, the tech diagnosed the problem in 10 minutes, an uneven tire threads and CV joint. Firestone in Fairfield mall replaced the four tires and Import Masters replaced the CV joint and Lo and Behold, my car is running like new again. Took my Toyota Prius here after the dealership said they couldn't do my oil change because the plug was stripped. I called them and they said they would take a look right away. There was nothing wrong with the plug, it was brand new, and my oil change was done in 15 minutes. (Turned out the dealership made me wait 4 hours for no reason, wanted to charge me $800 for unnecessary repairs, and let me drive off with my plug loose.) Turned out the mechanic was the owners son and we chatted a bit while he changed my oil. These are honest people who genuinely love and respect cars and their owners. Highly recommend them. I had my oil changed at Import Masters a couple of weeks ago. It was a reasonable price, and they were very communicative during the service. This morning, on my way out of town for a few days, I started to drive away from my house and saw a huge puddle of oil under my car. I drove straight to Import Masters and asked them to take a look. I explained to the owner Ralph that I was on my way out of town and had non-refundable reservations. They had my car up in less than ten minutes. 40 minutes later I was back on the road with a new oil filter, new gaskets to replace the leaky one that had been slightly too thick, new oil, an apology, and no charge at all. Ralph even wished us a great vacation. I couldn't be happier with the service I received at Import Master. Ralph is a great owner that stands by his service, and his business. I can't say enough good things about Import Master! From the moment I drove up I was immediately greeted by Ralph. He checked me in and I talked to him about an issue I had been dealing with for years and just by me describing it, he told me exactly what the problem was and said that it would be relatively easy and inexpensive to fix. I had been dealing with Honda on this issue for years and another mechanic wanted to charge me a $150 diagnostic fee. I got the major service I originally went in for and the other issue fixed in about 2 hours. While I was there, I overheard Ralph tell another female customer that came in for an oil change that she didn't need an oil change for at least another 2,000 miles. I brought my car in for major maintenance service. After a few hours, I received a call saying my front brakes were bad and needed to be replaced. This wasn't my normal shop for brake replacement but figured since they specialized in the make of car I had, they should be reliable and gave the okay. After getting the car back, I noticed a cranking, clunking sound when releasing the brake. I followed up with the shop and was told that the brakes needed time to settle and the sounds should go away after a few thousand miles. I waited out the few thousand miles and, in the mean time, noticed that the steering wheel started to shake when engaging the brakes. Figuring the rotors needed to be resurfaced, I brought the car to my regular brake shop. The mechanic informed me that whatever shop had last repaired my brakes left the brakes loose. The brakes work fine now and the noises are gone. I can't say I feel comfortable with the services at this shop any longer but, hopefully, no one else has this experience. If you do go here and something doesn't seem right when to get your car back, please learn from my misstep and be more adamant about a follow up check. read more

My family and I have taken vehicles in for maintenance and service many times over the years, and I feel that they are a trustworthy shop that won't try to rip me off. I feel this way, because several times I've come in to have something checked out, and it was a relatively simple fix (a loose wire, a dead fuse, a dirty sensor, a loose petrol cap), they didn't charge me anything. From my past experiences at other places (especially automotive dealerships), other places would try to tack on some kind of diagnostic fee or labor charge for simply taking a look at the car and fixing the minor problem. This place will give you an honest and fair price for repairs needed, and they won't try to nickel and dime you. They'll show you the prices of the parts being ordered, and their hourly rate for labor is exceptionally fair. If they don't use all the time estimated, they'll take that part of the estimated price off the final cost. I find the owner, his son, and the employees to be pleasant to converse with (both during transaction and work discussions, and the few times we've had casual conversations when it was slow). The waiting area is clean and has quite comfortable seating, and they leave the television controller out for you to use. The restroom is also kept very clean. What caused me to finally think to put up a review of the place after all this time is that this last time when I took a vehicle in for some work, and it was nearing closing time, the owner still took the vehicle in to be looked at the next day, and offered me a ride home out of his way. This way, I wouldn't have to drive the dangerously faulty vehicle home that night, and then drive it back the next day. To me, that's a bit above and beyond the call of duty for customer service. read more
