Pros: was offered a pretty good price on the car I was looking for. Cons: they refused to sell me the car without including their tracking service, even though we were paying cash for the car. Stalking every customer is their dealership policy, they said. So if you want a dealership tracking your every move with no way to avoid it, this is the place for you! Crooks and liars!! I will never buy a Honda again. The service has been trash. They will lie straight to your face to get a penny out of you. I have an extended warranty and this service worker act liked there was no way to look it up and he was trying to charge me $300 for a diagnostic. Luckily I found the paper in my car and the $2100 job they were quoting me is covered under the warranty I told him I had and he was unwilling to do the research to prove I had it!!! Lied and said he couldn't call where I bought the vehicle from because of confidentiality, immediately after I showed him the paper, he calls the Honda dealer I bought it from... so why couldn't this be done ??? Even before trying to charge me 2,000$. Zero due diligence, just oh pay us now! AND apparently my warranty is up at 104,000 miles and when I bought the car in San Leandro they said the extended warranty was good until 120,000!!!! They're all crooks. read more

I had bought a 2023 Honda CR-V hybrid sport touring model at a certain cow town dealership. Have been servicing it there also. Lately though, I have been feeling less than satisfied.......just feeling that for the money I was spending, the results weren't quite up to expect ions. Today I took my vehicle to be serviced at Steve Hopkins in Fairfield. A COMPLETELY different experience. Luis Guzman our service technician, what a PRO! Just went for oil change and tire rotation I had been having trouble because the TMPS kept coming on. Cow Town said during cold weather, it's likely to happen, never mind I've taken it there for TWO oil changes and tire rotations in the past year. Today during the tire rotation I get a call from Luis, the service dept says they found a small nail in a tire that has been causing a slow leak! Fixed it no charge! No more TMPS light coming on! I made another appointment for my 2009 Honda accord. Oil change tire rotation and brake check and all around e,engine check because I am going to give my pride and joy 2009 to my Granddaughter who will be a new driver in May! I never have issues with service department. Overall have been bringing my car here since I bought it from here but today was horrible. I dropped off my car at 2pm got told it would be about 1-1h 30mins. I got a text about my multi point inspection around 2:45 and then never heard anything else. I called around 6:10 to see if they were done and maybe didn't reach out or forgot. They never informed me that my car would be staying over night. I work tomorrow at 5 am and thankfully I have my dad's car but If I didn't do they expect me to walk. At least inform people you're not gonna have their cars done that same day hours in advance not when you're already basically closed. Not happy with this experience at all. Unfortunately the entire service took over an hour and a half. And when the service was paid for they said they have a AAA discount but that they couldn't apply it at the desk and then charged me on the spot with no discount. Ugh. I loved and would only buy Honda's but my last experience made me never want to return. My 2018 Honda Odyssey decided to randomly go into limp mode and the dashboard set off a firework display of lights. I had all my children and husband in the car and couldn't go faster than 20 miles per hour on highway 12. I called and spoke to Martin. He said that he would have his guys check out the vehicle and diagnose the issue. I was leaving for a road trip the next day and anxiously waited for an answer. I was called about an hour later and informed that there was a switch stuck in the wrong position and it would be an easy fix. I was excited that things would be fixed and continued packing. The next day I got a call that the necessary part came in defective from the manufacturer and it would take until Tuesday to get the part. Without the part, I couldn't drive! I had to go to Sacramento airport to get a rental vehicle that would fit my family and I was livid. We asked them to contact my mom to pick up the vehicle since we would be out of town for a week. By Tuesday, I didn't hear anything, so I called 2 times to see what was happening. Martin was off, so I spoke to Josh. He immediately apologized and informed me that while the repairs were being done, my vehicle was dropped off the lift and damaged!! It would take another 3 days to get the vehicle not only repaired, but sent to a body shop. I couldn't believe it. He sent me photos of the damage and I asked that they cover the cost of my rental and gas since I was inconvenienced due to their error. They agreed and this is why they get one star. When the car was sent to the repair shop (Alioto's), they removed the wrong side of the vehicle because of some other damage (it didn't come in damaged!!!!). This meant another 3 days of work. My car has now been out of my possession for 12 days. Alioto's offered to bring the car to me, but mentioned that a part was still missing. When I came to the dealership, it was a huge piece missing and I refused to accept the vehicle. They had also promised that the car would be detailed, but it was messier than ever and looked ransacked. I just wanted to be rid of the vehicle at this point. When I did pick up the car, the lights all started flashing again. I was done and sold the vehicle to CarMax on the spot. Martin and Sheila get the other star because of their professionalism and diligence. But I would never do business here again. Stay far away. read more

We had made a deal on price and made an appointment to purchase the car. So as we are driving up and about an hour away prior to our appointment we get a text that they sold our car and don't have another one in stock in the same trim. So we ask for a deal on a higher model and they refuse to make any concessions for their screw up. Even a few hundred to a thousand off out of good faith would have sealed a new deal. But they refused and we had no choice but to walk. And then a couple days later we get an offer for the higher model at a lower price, but it's too late. We ended up with a brand new Toyota instead. And I liked our initial sales guy and the sales guy from Acura next door. It was actually the Acura guy that sent us the new deal. But it was too little too late. I just can't, in good faith, recommend a dealer that agrees on a price and sets an appointment for a car, and then sells it. Come to find out they actually sold the car the day before and I wasn't told it was sold until an hour prior to our appointment the next day. And judging from other reviews the service department isn't very good either. read more

My husband and I came at opening and before going inside we looked at some vehicles and were met shortly in the parking lot by Dennis. He was down to earth, kind, and accommodating. Coming from a 1 star experience at Vallejo Nissan I received the opposite treatment from Isaiah at Steve Hopkins in Fairfield CA. Isaiah was efficient, friendly, professional and attentive. I had no issues at Steve Hopkins. The environment was comfortable, clean and relatively quiet. The area is located in a clean and safe location of the city which was the opposite of Vallejo Nissan. However, I'm taking it in for a recall inspection tomorrow (which may take 4 hours) and was told that they do not have a free shuttle but can arrange Lyft for $10 each way. It should be FREE (within a certain mile radius), especially since I'm bringing it in for their recall issue but also because I've spent a ton of money there. I had my engine oil and transmission oil changed yesterday 5/5/25 and it was only an hour wait. They sent me a link of the MULTI POINT INSPECTION and I noticed that in 1 of the reports is says ENGINE AIR FILTER is SATISFACTORY. After arriving at home, I've checked my engine, and I noticed that even a single handprint was not visible in my engine air filter cover. It only means they didn't really inspect or check it. I ended up changing it by myself. Now, I was wondering if STEVE HOPSKINS HONDA service crews really do the "MULTI POINT INSPECTION" for real as stated in the report.
