Words cannot express how grateful we are to Dog Day Afternoon and every member of their amazing staff. For many many years, our Shi Tzu stayed with them when we travelled. They always greeted her by name & with love. The daily photo report cards were the highlight of our day. At the age of 18 (mostly blind & deaf) she passed away last week. I notified them and canceled an upcoming appointment. Today we received a card in the mail with a personal message from each employee. It brought tears to our eyes and further validated our decision to forgo cheaper alternatives and entrust her to these caring staff members who go above and beyond. 5 Stars for a dog daycare and boarding spot that has streaming and extra services, and who seem to really love the pups. Dog Day Afternoon (DDA) is available for daytime distractions for your pups or longer boarding. They offer online streaming video to see your dog while you're away, and also offer services like dog washing, nail trimming, water play, private play time, etc. Seems like the perfect place for a doting dog owner! One thing to note is they require a break-away collar when you drop your dog off. They have them for sale or rent, but we've forgotten ours a few times and they've been cool about it and not charged us. The only thing that's been annoying is the streaming hasn't worked the last two times the pup has been there. That's kind of one of the big perks of going to them, so it was a bummer. They didn't have any explanation for it when we asked. They have two outdoor areas as well as a separate space for the "gentles." This means your timid and sensitive dog won't get bullied in the playground. Overall, a definite favorite for boarding in town. They have a referral bonus if you refer a friend. We've gotten free days when a friend took our advice to go to DDA. read more

My dog, Cerby, spent three days and two nights with you at Dog Day Afternoon. Your photo report cards were an excellent way to assure me that Cerby was happy and calm (and also fun to share with family and friends). I could tell by her posture in the photos that she was not feeling stressed and that allowed me to enjoy the holidays without worrying about her. I called literally dozens of boarding facilities before choosing to try out Dog Day Afternoon. No place even compared to what you offer. This place is wonderful! I was terrified about boarding my 12 year old Pomeranian for the first time ever but this place came highly recommended by a friend. I went in and did a tour and they were so friendly and knowledgeable. I left Leo with them while I had to travel for work and mentioned it was his birthday. The photo updates I received throughout his stay made my day and reassured me that he was in the best hands. They even threw him a little birthday party! YAY! Doggie Day Afternoon rocks! I recently checked this place out thanks to MC's referral. She wrote such a great review and I was ready to find somewhere I could take my baby girl for some fun during my busy days. When you call to set up your first visit, grooming or day care, they make sure that your pet is up to date with all of their shots by calling your vet to confirm. That's amazing. You always hear of these places asking for papers and such but then to actually follow through and prove they actually research is such a positive feeling. This way you know every other dog there is undergoing the same process to ensure all puppies well being. I took Haley in for a grooming and you are taken back to a room for paperwork and you are offered a walk through as well. The groomer comes in and chats about your pups personality, likes/dislikes and your desires for the trim. She really cares and is super nice with the pups. When I picked Haley up she was fresh and ready to go and didn't seem stressed at all. That is a great sign. I also got a walk through of the rest of the facilities for when I return to drop her off for day care of overnight. They break the dog areas into small and large dogs. They have an indoor play area and outdoor as well. There is always an employee with them to monitor their behavior and happiness. They also have doggie apartments for each pup to sleep in their own area at night. You can bring their favorite toys etc. Everything seems super clean and well taken care of. What is really cool and you should take them up on if you are interested is thast your pups first day of dog care is free! How cool is that? Everyone working there has seemed to work there forever cause they love it! That is always a great sign of a good business. There are cameras in every play area and there are TVs in the main area for all to see. When your doggie is introduced you can watch it on screen, super great touch! When I picked Haley up she was in such a good mood which is a huge sign that she had a positive time. We've taken our two dogs to stay for a week at a time on several occasions. Based upon our observations of their hesitation to leave with us to come home, we'd say they enjoyed it. The all day playtime & socialization is what our dogs get the most benefit from. I would say if money is your main concern do not board your pets here, but our pets are our children so we want them to stay where they are safe and happy and get to have some fun! I do LOVE that the playtime cameras are an included feature and that there's an app! I don't use it much but it gives me a sense of comfort to know that I can check in to see how things are going. I do wish that the resolution is a little more clear and the fluidity not so choppy. The only negative experience I've had was coming back from Christmas there was a miscommunication between staff as to when they were opening so we ended up being told that they would be open two hours earlier than they were actually going to be open. We had just gotten off of a red eye, all I wanted was to get the dogs and go home but we had to wait until the manager got there so they could cash us out. That situation aside, they've always taken care of our pets very well. Overall I trust these people with our pets care. read more

We've used other doggie day cares/boarding facilities before but this was, by far, the best experience we've ever had. Other places left our dog smelling horrible and she was traumatized. We swore we would never use another one again, but we were in a pinch and had to explore this option again recently. At Dog Day, she was freshly bathed and extremely happy when we picked her up! I took a weekend getaway where I couldn't take my dog and so I left him (Oliver) with Dog Day Afternoon and I was very happy with the service. The webcams are so reassuring! Knowing I could check in on Oliver at almost any time reassured me that he was having the best possible time without his paw-rents (get it?). Not many places allow dog beds to be left or toys or even blankets, but dog day afternoon does! And that's great! They'll keep it in his kennel and Oliver can use it whenever. I will soon start working at ORMC and they have special drop off hours for employees. That's a huge plus for me! I'm hoping to continue being able to use the social doggy daycare for Oliver for many more stays. read more

I was very pleased with this groomer! I called around mid-day on a Saturday and managed to get an appointment for 9 a.m. that very next Sunday morning. They sent me an email with a questionnaire and information on how to create an account. It was very professional and easy to use. They asked a lot about your pet, its preferences, and medical history. They also allowed me to upload a picture of Ipso! My only issue with the online portion of their services involved uploading the vet records. They don't have a specific spot to upload the records to, so when you put them on the site, they just sit in a random spot. It took some searching on my cell phone and a lot of pointing to get the check-in ladies to see where I had uploaded the information. It's probably just easier to bring hard-copies into the office with you. Otherwise, the staff was very nice. I appreciate that they actually required proof of vet records before taking the pets in to be groomed. I have gone to many grooming places before that say it's required on their website, and then don't actually bother verifying. I also really appreciated the quick turnaround time offered by Dog Day Afternoon. My dog doesn't like to sit in a crate for an extended amount of time. So he often has a less than stellar experience at the groomers. However, Dog Day had him checked-in, bathed, groomed, and out the door by 11 a.m. on the dot! He looked very happy (and very adorable) when I picked him up. He normally looks very stressed after grooming, and I didn't see any of that when I picked him up. The groomer also came to speak with me before taking Ipso back for his haircut. She asked about my style preference, what he'd done previously, and got a feel for what I wanted. It was a convenient little consultation, and I appreciated it. They also will offer you various packages to choose from that come in at different price points. I ended up paying extra for an oatmeal bath and a couple other things, but none of those were required. It wasn't the cheapest grooming ever, but it wasn't crazy either. Overall, I was really pleased with the location (right off of Orange Ave, close to downtown), the staff, and the grooming service. I highly recommend you try it out. read more

My lil Jerry loves it. He doesn't have any separation anxiety when I drop him off. The next time will be a chore though. Because his daddy and I will b going on a cruise. When Jerry comes home he does not make a mess anywhere. He is happy. They play all day and their feeding times are the same as what we do at home. The staff are so friendly and nice. I am writing this review on behalf of Stella who, while extremely talented at ball-chasing and face-licking, has limited typing skills. Stella says she loves her doggy daycare days at Dog Day Afternoon and has been going there since she was just a 4 or 5 months old. She gets to see all her buddies at least twice a week and loves playing inside and outside. Since her Daddy can see her on the doggy-cams she tries to be good and has only had to go to time-out twice in all these months. Of course she may get an occasional water bottle spray but the nice staff never tell on her. She always has a good report card and Daddy and Mommy love reading them when they get them. Recently she spent her first weekend boarding at Dog Day and she said she loved it. Playing, sleeping and occasional Doggy Ice Cream made the weekend go by fast. We love Dog Day Afternoon! Great place to board your best friend. I was looking for a place that was cage-free and also provided plenty of attention for the dogs. This place seems to have everything you could ask for. The staff is friendly and they call if there are any issues. Cons: -there is a webcam you can use to watch your dog in the playroom but I have tried using it on several computers so far with no luck. -recently my dog came bag with fleas and ticks after a stay. read more

I just got back from my first trip away from my one-year-old lab, and I couldn't be happier with the care he had here while I was gone. The on-boarding process was a bit lengthy - they require an application with immunization records, as well as a visit to the facility - but after finishing the process, my mind was much more at ease about where I was leaving him (and knowing they required the same info for the other dogs). Seeing the facility before his appointment also gave my dog a sense of familiarity when he went back for his stay and helped ease any separation anxiety he might've had. After the first day of his visit, I received an email "report card" with photos of my little guy which completely brightened my day. I was also able to check in on him with the live webcams they have set up in their play areas. He looked so happy! The staff is super friendly and organized and stayed in communication with me from the time I enrolled him to the time I picked him up today. You will need to book a meet and greet first so they can explain to you their facility and figure out if your dog will be a good fit with group play or private care. Dog Day Afternoon is home away from home for our furchild, Rocky! We are in love with our dog and extremely protective over him, and we fully trust Kate and her staff. Rocky is always cared for, fed and well exercised! He is excited to arrive, and has made some great friends. They have webcams so you can check in on your pup, no matter where you are in the world! I love that. The fact that they are so transparent shows that there is no funny business going on. One of the most important questions I asked was whether or not there is someone there 24 hours a day. They assured me that there is, so that means if your dog has an emergency at night, you will know. We usually call for updates, and they will give us a full report of how Rocky eats, how he has been playing, sleeping, etc... And, they offer delicious treats for your dog. They remember my dog every time I call to make a reservation. My dog always leaves with a smile on her face, so they must be treating her right while she's there. My husband and I left our 6 year old Pekingese Kamora at Dog Day Afternoon over the Christmas holiday. We really liked how the dogs were properly grouped and spent most of the day very busy in playgroup. I could not be any happier with the care my dog gets when he is boarded at Dog Day Afternoon. The entire staff is wonderful - they greet you and your dog with genuine smiles when you come and (at least pretend) they remember your dog no matter how long it's been. The place is clean, the doggie web cams are great, I LOVE that they don't sleep in kennels, they send picture updates and also write detailed "report cards". The staff are all kind and sweet and love animals. They're there for 24 hours which is awesome. The dogs play all day long with lunch breaks. You will catch the staff blowing bubbles with the pups or giving extra scratches. They let you. Ring whatever blankets or toys you want to put in your dogs room. I like this place. I was referred here and as a customer of Rangers, I was skeptical to change. But one weekend Rangers was booked solid so I gave this place a shot. I got a tour and it seemed okay but what I loved was the size of the rooms for each dog. I think my pup got a 75 sqft area and of course I brought her blanket and toys. The price was actually higher than Rangers but we tried it. They called me the next day to tell me Patsy was fitting in wonderfully so I was relieved. Upon picking her up she seemed happy and they gave me a progress report including who she played with and some of her characteristics. So I highly recommend... Love this place! Our dog is not a big fan of being boarded and has had some problems with other facilities since she doesn't do well in crates and has a lot of anxiety. Can't say she loves being boarded anywhere, but she doesn't mind coming here too much.
