How have I not eaten here in all this time that I've worked in Bridgewater and lived in Somerville?!? This is THE ultimate craving spot! Big Pink's brisket is the best around! I've also had the pork belly, ribs, and tri tip which are also good, but the brisket is the best - hands down! The pork belly and ribs are delicious and smoky. The tri tip is super flavorful, but half of my tri tip pieces were hard to chew and the other pieces were super tender so I'd say it's the luck of the draw depending on which cut of it you get. I also love their mac + cheese and beans + brisket as sides. Since Big Pink's is a food truck, there's limited seating (only 1 picnic table) but we live so close by that we've just taken it to go and eaten it at home! The employees are super nice. Big pinks Bbq was really very good! I've driven past it 100 times thinking, N. j. Can't make real BBQ! Ha! I was wrong! The ribs & pork belly had just the right amount of Smokey flavor. Some "BBQ" tastes like the liquid smoke you buy in the supermarket. This was not that! I'm not a big brisket fan, but theirs was super tender & quite good. I made a return here and decided to go with a two-meat platter. This also came with two sides and a piece of corn bread. I opted for ribs and brisket as my meats. For my sides, I went with coleslaw and beans with brisket. The ribs were my favorite item tried. They were meaty with plenty of flavor and not too dry. The brisket was not bad. I thought it could have been more tender and a little less fatty. Again, the flavor was there, but the texture was a little off for me. Regarding the sides, both beans and coleslaw were solid. The tri tip has such a robust smokey flavor. The brisket has just melts in your mouth. Probably the best part of my order. Was in the mood for BBQ and this spot hit the cravings. I ordered the 3 meat platter (Baby back ribs, Smoked Brisket, Pork Belly) with 2 sides (cole slaw, lime rice) and the 2 meat platter (Sausage, St Louis Ribs) with 2 sides (mac & cheese, beans and brisket) as well as the empanada of the day (I think it was pulled pork?). All the meats were good, very flavorful and saucy. I would almost say too much sauce, so not sure why some of the reviews complained of lack of sauce. I would rather have less sauce on the meat and more on the side so that if you're ordering for a group, folks can choose how much sauce to put on. My only complaint is the coleslaw, and might be a personal preference, but I was not a fan of how tangy the coleslaw was. However, I LOVED the beans and brisket. I would totally order that separately next time given that when you order the platters, the size of the sides are not that big. I would pass on the lime rice. It was mushy and you can't even taste the lime. Overall, would I come back? Yes! I totally would, now that I know what to order and what to avoid. I wish the online ordering lets you pick the amount of sauce on your meat or lets you have the option to put the sauce on the side. There is an option to leave comments, but I didn't use it, so I'll try next time and will update my review and let you know if they pay attention to the comments. Been wanting to try this place and finally got delivery today. The food was terrific! I got the one-meat platter with St Louis ribs, cheesy potatoes and Mac and cheese. The ribs (4 bones) were meaty and tender. The Mac and cheese was cheesy and tender. The cheesy potatoes were ... cheesy and tender. I also got a sausage link just to try it - it was not cheesy (!) but had a good bite to it, and was quite spicy, which was ok by me. (It should probably come with a warning on the menu!) The meal came with 2 small containers of bbq sauce that was also spicy and delicious. The only thing missing for me was the option of ordering a large home brewed ice tea (water and Pepsi are the only drinks available, and I don't like Pepsi), and maybe a small sweet for dessert (no desserts available.) I understand wanting to keep things simple, as this is a food truck and not a restaurant. But I have to say, the rest of the menu is quite diverse. This food truck is just around the corner from my house and I finally gave it a try. The young lady taking the orders why super friendly which is definitely a plus. I order a 1 meat platter with sausage, cheesy potatoes and Mac n cheese along with 2 double meat platters that had burnt ends, pull pork , and sausage along with the beans and brisket, Mac n cheese and coleslaw. The burnt ends are so yummy and tender, the sausage was a tad dry but has good flavor , the pulled pork was Yummy as well. The beans and brisket were delicious and had a little bite to them . I loved the twang that the coleslaw had and the Mac n cheese was on point. I wish the portion sizes were a tad bigger with the sides but all in all we really enjoyed the meals . The most disappointing was the burnt ends which were way too salty, fatty and smothered in barbecue sauce which rendered them gloppy not crispy. The brisket was excessively salty and almost inedible. The sides were just ok. The ribs were the only item that was prepared well and I enjoyed them. All portions were on the small side especially the burnt ends. My wife and I were worn out this Memorial Day weekend, but really wanted to have some bbq. We searched Yelp, and Big Pink's had eight 5-star reviews. We had to check it out. We got baby back ribs, cheesy potatoes, a Mexican BBQ bowl, and coleslaw. I'm happy to report that everything was delicious. It's REAL food. Everything is layered with flavor. ° sweet and smoky for the ribs ° no stinginess on the potatoes fixins ° the Mexican BBQ bowl picture speaks for itself ° the coleslaw is a bit tangier and spicier than usual (which is nice, compared to the heavier stuff you might otherwise encounter) $26.75 covered all of that, along with a messy ribs face, cleared plates, and the onset of a mid-afternoon nap. (I struggle to finish this review.) These are the effects we were looking for! We're lucky to have them in our community. IMHO, bbq offerings in this area are good, but not great. We were in the area and looking for a decent place to eat. We both wanted something different, so I went on Yelp to see what was around. Among the numerous restaurants, I saw Big Pink's in the mix. We're always on the lookout for great BBQ, so I figured we'd give it a try (plus it has all excellent reviews). Needless to say, we weren't disappointed. The meat was so tender and juicy. The BBQ sauce (he has a bunch of flavors, but I went with the house sauce), has an amazing flavor. The sides were just as good and the cornbread was simply amazing. I'm about 40 min East from Big Pink's, but I will absolutely be back soon! We got the Burnt Ends Platter w/coleslaw and fries as well as the Brisket Platter w/lime rice and mac & cheese (both platters came with a piece of cornbread). I just wanted to add one more thing. The gentleman taking our order (I'm guessing he's the owner...not sure) was so nice and polite. Texas BBQ in NJ - doesn't get better than this I can't say if it is the best BBQ I've ever had, but for food that is typically watered down outside of its home state, I will gladly enjoy this food truck. I got the beef brisket sandwich (topped with Cole slaw and onion ring) and boy, did it satisfy my taste buds. The brisket was perfectly cooked, the sauce was tangy yet spicy - my mouth is oh so watering thinking about it For the side, I got the cheesy potatoes which was pretty much potatoes in Mac and cheese sauce. Really good though - the potatoes had that rustic flavor you will find at typical bbq joints I discovered this place back in 2018 and it's a shame it took me so long to check it out. Lived in Bridgewater 20+ years, travel Rt. 28 most weeks, and have never seen Big Pinks BBQ. I've been missing out. Hubby spots it, with cars and small line in the lot, and that was enough for us to stop. OMG! Best BBQ I've had up here in forever. I started with the Big Texan (burnt ends and briskets, onion rings, on an onion roll). Not a cheddar cheese fan, so left off the cheese. Hubs had the Big Pink (brisket, pork, chicken, kielbasa, etc ...). And we split the order of seasoned fries. My sandwich was incredibly seasoned, moist, juicy, and pretty much perfect. My husband is a gigantic eater and his sandwich filled him. Said it was delicious on every level. The fries were seasoned with just enough spices and perfectly fried. This is a food truck parked in an empty lot so it was easy for me to miss. I got the pulled pork sandwich and pulled chicken sandwich. Both were good and overstuffed on a potato bun (not a kaiser roll like their menu states) but I prefer the potato bun anyway. The pulled chicken was large pieces, not chopped to death. The pulled pork was also good. I got the cheesy potatoes and they were soft chunks of potato with a thin cheese sauce but it was tasty. I also got the lime rice and maybe they weren't ready yet but it was plain steamed rice (like from a chinese restaurant with absolutely no flavor. Not sure why its called lime rice. Overall I would go back and get the same items except for the rice. BTW I charged the food on my credit card, did not get a receipt and when I calculated the price I guess it was rounded up to the nearest dollar. Had to deduct a star for the rice and lack of a receipt/being overchrged. read more

The flavor was good and everything was seasoned nicely but I found the food to be above average and not great. Definitely better than anything we have in the area so I will be back to try the other meats. I'm sure this place gets crowded when the weather is warmer but the lot was empty when I got there. The food here is very good. I've eaten here a couple times. The pulled pork is smoky and delicious The pulled chicken is great as well. The burnt ends are fantastic. The sauce is great and they explode in your mouth. I haven't tried the ribs or sausage but I've heard excellent things. The brisket is mediocre. It doesn't have the same smokiness and juiciness as the other meats. Instead of bark it has some wet peppery seasoning on the surface. It's not too bad in a sandwich, but definitely my least favorite thing on the menu. Update- I went back and had the brisket again. It was fantastic. Since I'm from Texas and I've been all over the country sampling slow cooked and smoked meats from every region, I think it gives me the right to critique. It doesn't, but I will anyway. Enough about me. Big Pink's is phenomenal. The burnt ends are probably the greatest single food item on the planet with the brisket beans a close second. Obviously the word is spreading because the burnt ends sell out early. The ribs are tender and flavorful and fall off the bone as any self respecting rib would. If I had one criticism, it would be that the brisket was just a tad dry. Fortunately there are 3.2 million sauces to choose from to lube it up. Without asking for anything back and without any hesitation the owner took it upon himself to refund me for the food I picked up for my family. Everybody in every business has bad or off days, myself included. What differentiates great businesses from mediocre ones is how they handle problems.
