The fries were crispy and the cheese was baked to crispy on the edges. The burger was thick, fresh and just the taste you want when you're in the mood for a burger. Bought a few pizzas to feed a group recently and they were very tasty, plus the owner came in as I was jazzing up the pies with condiments from the counter and made sure I received some extra pepper flakes, oregano etc. to take away. The cheese steaks and pizza here are delicious and well worth trying. Service is fast and my pizza and sandwiches were ready and hot on time when promised. This is not an eat in type place but their parking and access is great for pickup. This was our first time ordering here. We ordered a small pizza, half pepperoni, got all pepperoni ($13.45), a cheeseburger ($11.00), Mozzarella sticks ($7.50) and a chocolate milk shake ($5.50). The pizza was very good! The burger was good. The roll was very good. The Mozzarella sticks were horrible. No flavor and the cheese was like rubber. Judging by the color, possibly not cooked long enough. The milkshake was just ok, but no where near worth $5.50. Couple of things to note; there was an "open item" charge of .50 cents and they charge extra to use a debit/credit card. There is also a "local business" fee of $1.49. Love the 20" and 28" pizzas. I always order here for parties and will continue. Lesser known is they offer excellent values for catering trays. The baked ziti and sausage with pepper trays are very good and my guests always give good feedback. This is a great pizza shop for ordering, but you need to know what to order. Pizza is excellent, sandwiches score D+ like most pizza shops. I can't give them 5 stars because no pizza restaurant makes a good hoagie, including this one. The cheesesteaks are big and filling, but not the best quality meat (a little greasy). Big Sammy's prices are reasonable for the generous portions. Try their catering trays when you have company and don't want to cook for a party. Keep in mind the sandwiches won't be as good as a sandwich shop. I can't speak for the other Italian dish entrees as I have not tried them. Delivery has been fairly reliable for me and as good or slightly better than the other local delivery places. read more

I got their menu in the mail, and they had some pretty good deals, so I decided to give them a try. This was one of the few times that I didn't check yelp first before I ordered. Had I checked first, I wouldn't have ordered. They had a cheesesteak deal going on, so I ordered a couple. Came home, and I was very excited because I LOVE cheesesteaks. Took my first bite, INSTANT SALTINESS! It was as if the cook accidentally knocked over an entire container of salt into the meat and just continued to cook it anyway. I had 30 times the daily requirement of sodium in just one bite. I had to drench it in ketchup to force it down. So many changes not reflected in menu My family has been ordering from Big Sam's for quite some time. We've loved the selection of foods, and it has foods my sister can have (she is on a strict diet). Recently with changes to ownership, the menu has been cut down and changed, but not reflected on their website, GrubHub, or even menus. This has caused issues from price discrepancies to ordered food having completely different ingredients than ordered. They used to call us about the changes, but have stopped. We have called them nearly every time after our orders for a refund or for them to remake something we ordered. Case in point, my sister always gets the grilled chicken wrap, having it on a spinach wrap, with yellow cheddar cheese. So good. Today 7/31, she ordered it. After getting it, she called me over to show me the "cheese" inside what white and cloggy and mushy, almost like mashed potatoes. When we called Big Sam's, they said the yellow cheddar cheese was changed to yellow cheddar and mozzarella shred. This was not reflected in the menu. When asked what other cheeses they have, they only had cheese whiz. Could this be because of shortages? Possibly. But another time we ordered the tuxedo bomb desserts. Big Sam's called us to say they no longer get those items because of the new ownership of the restaurant. To this day, tuxedo bombs are still on the menu. Overall, Big Sam's has been getting worse and it is sad to see. read more

I felt compelled to update my review based on our last three experiences. Big disappointment. We took a break from Big Sam's about a year ago because they delivered wraps that were tortillas loosely folded around its contents. It was a mess and frustrating. About a month ago, we ordered again. We ordered the appetizer sampler (which we had before, with no complaints); it was missing corn bites and everything was barely room temperature. My veggie hot wrapper (which, again, I'd ordered before and really liked) had a dirty-grease-taste. Tonight, we ordered for the last time. Food arrived about 25 minutes later than the window they gave (I get that it's a Friday, but that's pretty late). If the food was still hot (or even warm), that would be ok, but it was not. My wrap was good, as was my husband's gyro. The chicken cordon bleu bites were cold and so were the garlic fries. We love garlic, but not enough to eat a few tablespoons caked to fries. They were flat out disgusting and not salvageable. I am disappointed to see the decline. read more

Wanted a sandwich last night, wife enjoys their appetizers. She got mozzarella fries & corn nuggets, both were tasty. I got a meatball parm. sandwich. I've never had a dry meatball until last night. Yup, the meatballs were actually dry, texture like there were sawdust in them. The sauce was bland, the sandwich was dead on arrival. Past sandwiches were much better. I have to hand it to the brave souls opening a new pizza shop in our area, especially when they are closing down almost as fast as they opened. Their menu is as big as the phone book and they have so many Italian and American choices for appetizers, salads, sandwiches, a huge selection of pizza and entrees. Fifteen soups, seriously and they claim to all be homemade! I asked three times, you have all of these soups and they are all homemade? I am so obnoxious at times and she claimed they were, okay, I'll have the cream of mushroom, the cream of potato and the New England clam chowder. Ha! I figured out how they do this! They start with the same very thin and milky broth that is so bland and unseasoned and then to one they add the mushrooms and to the next the clams and potatoes and so on. Ugh and I do mean ugh, if these are what you call homemade soups then my little granddaughter is ready to start her first try at cooking. I should have tried one of the many Italian soups, hopefully they take more pride in these. Hubby had a cheesesteak, he loves his cheesesteaks and he is not picky at all. This sandwich was loaded with chopped meat and I mean enough for three cheesesteaks with sauteed onions and cheese. He was not thrilled at all, he said the meat was "garbage" and bland and not of good quality and he never did find any cheese. They have a hundred choices of fries, not really but close and he made it a platter with their choice of fries and they use crispers when not specified and neither of us are a fan of these. On to my small pizza, a 12" Florentine to which I added shrimp, total of $12.00. Description was olive oil, garlic, spinach, mushrooms, onions, feta cheese and mozzarella. I had asked if the mushrooms were fresh before ordering and yes they were, but there was not one teeny tiny speck of spinach on my Florentine pizza and there was one small shrimp sitting in the middle of each slice! The pizza really needed to be dressed more with the ingredients they did provide, very little feta, mushrooms and onions, it was basically a cheese pizza with a surprise bite here and there. I must admit though the ingredients were of good quality and I did like the crust. Last but not least was the first time I have ever heard of or tried a Panzarotti, they are made to order and stuffed with their choices or yours, a nice sized pocket of dough that I had "stuffed" with pepperoni, got to have my roni, onions, peppers, sauce and cheese. Well it was good, greasy good and I mean that in a good way, but they have this thing about omitting the cheese ( not to mention the spinach ) and if you call this stuffed I hate to see what barely dressed looks like to you. We were not overwhelmed enough to want to give them repeat business, like I said there are too many local shops that have been around for years and deserve our business because they give the customer what they want. Food is pretty good but they are very expensive. They are more expensive than every pizza restaurant in the neighborhood. Pizza, wings, pasta all very good. Lots of variety on the menu. The portions have gone down over the last few years. So now they charge more and give you less. Whenever you see they have a new menu- it's a guarantee prices went up again and portions got smaller. Delivery is hit or miss. They mess up the orders a lot. Either forgetting something or not doing it right. Sometime the food is just right and sometimes it's like a totally different place. Not consistent. The people are friendly. Usually young kids working the counter like high school age. Only problem with this place is the prices are outrageous for what you get. I love this place and was just checking in this evening to give them a positive review! I've ordered from here easily 20+ times and have always had a good experience. However, I havn't gotten too adventurous beyond an upside down pizza (DELICIOUS) and choosing some variety of their 75 kinds of fries as a wild card. My boyfriend has ordered cheese steaks and hoagies which have been large and he claims also delicious. This "review" is not a reflection on Big Sam's food. They have excellent food and we have been going there forever! My complaint is with the snotty little brat who took my order. I don't know if I interrupted her while she was filing her nails or if I interrupted her selfie of shoving her breast implants back into her push up bra; but she could not have been more ignorant, dismissive or rude if she tried. I canceled my order because of her and got a magnificent pizza from Nina's instead. I know places are desperate for help, but you guys really need to train your staff on customer service. read more

Lately I've been getting a lot of stuff from here, but oddly have never had one of their pizzas. However, I've had a few other items off the menu and they've ranged wildly in quality. The worst item I've had was the buffalo chicken fingers. Extremely soggy, weak sauce, just generally unappetizing. The best thing I've had here was their garlic knots, and while not the best garlic knots ever, they were fluffy and well prepared, though needed a bit more garlic. Their sandwiches are huge and usually good, and their vegetables at least are fresh. I'm not the biggest fan of this place. If I didn't get it with my coworkers I wouldn't think to go there on my own. However, their food is edible and they have a great deal to choose from, which is a plus. Ordered via EAT24. Estimates time 45-60 minutes. Called after an hour, eat24 put me on hold, called the restaurant, restaurant says should be here any minute. Get off the phone and 10 mins later I get a call. Delivery guy is in the lobby. Says I didn't put a suite number. Dude you just got here. It's one building. Thanked him and he waited like I was going to tip him. I just turned around and walked into my office. Bag was cold. This was a Philly cheesesteak and fries. Fries were cold as hell. Didn't eat that, cheesesteak was meaty but barely any cheese. Some advice when you put the meat and cheese in the roll, make sure the cheese ends up on top so the meat doesn't fall out. Cheesesteak was edible, could be cuz I was starving, fries trashed, delivery time poor. Second guess any pizza orders. Will pass next time. Update: Julia called to ask about my experience, very sincere and apologetic. Offered to correct it and sent me a Works Pizza to my hotel. It's rush hour by now, she called 15 mins later to update me as her driver was caught in rush hour. Pizza arrives and WOW . Bomb!! Stay away from big Sam's. After years of ordering on a weekly basis, my family and I are no longer ordering from Sam's. Great food but their customer service leaves a lot to be desired. If they get an order wrong, DO NOT EXPECT a refund OR them to correct the error. I'm STILL waiting for a platter that they missed from Friday (8/7). Me thinkith it. Isn't arriving any time soon. I'm switching to Nina's. They have way better food. I might be a little more expensive but it's well worth it. OMG what a meal. We ordered a 18 inch pie instead of a 16 inch no way could it be finished. I had to cut slices in half to finish. We ordered a cheese steak and onion rings another way to much to eat. Ordered thru GrubHub since it was my 1 at time ordering thru Big Sam's I received $10.00 off. This is my new to order thru establiment. The food order was correct and hot. I had preheated my oven prior to the delivery but never needed it. I have so much leftovers for another night. Great food, great prices and delivery. Way to go GrubHub for your consideration using the proper gear for delivery. Be generous and tip more than the usual. read more

OK, lets start off with the huge menu selections, way to many items for a pizza place to much to read and to many choices, if there were less choices maybe they can focus more on quality. I order there a few times a month it takes a long time to place an order with who ever answers phone, even when they repeat it back they miss items not sure if language barrier is problem or maybe they have a computer problem. Again menu might be issue. The food mostly ok, pizza's never burnt big selection of desserts decent delivery time. I have never had a complete order correct yet, you order a ham and cheese with hoagie with mayo and tomato only, you get ham and cheese with lettuce tomato onions and mayo and seasons, you ask for coke zero you get regular coke, you order a tomato basil and ravioli soup you get a watery tomato soup with no basil no ravioli's in it, we ordered a pizza Philly style but ask for Alfredo sauce instead of tomato sauce we got a reg Philly style pizza. Now, these are a few screw ups on orders over the time we have order here, it seems when you ask for special orders they still make it the way it is on menu, I have never gotten a correct order yet, its almost as they don't even care how food goes out or check to see if it is made correctly. Again it might be a problem with computer or person taking orders or person making orders somewhere its lost in process. Yes they run great specials free pizza over $30, a free 2 liter of soda, but if your not going to get orders correct what's the sense. Solutions can be made easily less on menu so they can focus on making orders correct, have a person who can take order over phone easily and quickly with no language barrier, then have cooks make orders as they are on slips, they have great potential however not my go to place yet and its a shame. read more
