My step-dad is a big fan of these guys and I understand the reasoning, fully. We use them for special occasions because I try to do an awful lot of baking at home as well. There are times when the help and additional warm wafting smells are appreciated though! Typically if there is a get together or holiday parties you will see a pancaked loaf of sourdough or honey wheat next to something spectacular from Big Sky, lol. Their granola earns this place five stars. When the health food store where I used to work would get in their Big Sky granola deliveries, folks would be calling throughout the day to reserve bags or see if the truck had arrived and it would always sell out almost immediately. I've even given bags of it as Christmas gifts. They also offer plenty of other very interesting and tasty bread options so be sure to try as many as you can. You truly can't make a bad choice here. This is my favorite place for bread! I discovered this place through whole food. This is the bread that they use to make sandwiches. Most of the bread are made with whole wheat. My favorite is the French bread. However, they don't keep very long because they don't have preservatives in them. I like their brownies too. Their staff is very friendly and helpful! read more

Big Sky Bread Company is one of those institutions that you wish you had in your home town. The people are awesome, the offerings are fantastic, and well... it just doesn't really get "crowded" because its essentially just a carry-out bakery, all said and done. Apparently all the cookies are whole wheat. I couldn't tell, so that doesn't bother me in the least bit. I studied dietetics, but I could honestly care less if someone is eating an all purpose flour baked good or a whole wheat one... you are still pounding down carbohydrates, right? Chocolate chip walnut cookies offer up huge chunks of walnuts. For those who enjoy walnuts for all of the health benefits, also take note that whole wheat flour is used. Yes, I just helped you out you granolites. The White chocolate chip was a good addition to the variety of flattened, sugar laden baked goods. Muffin wise, the honey oat bran would be hard to beat. It had all things going against it, but I loved it. It was certainly not as moist as most, and there was not as much crusting on top as you would want, but the subtle flavors inside and the $1.80 price tag were big selling points for me. If you are somehow on Yelp looking for an extremely local OKC kind of bakery, this is your spot. I seem to be on of the only Yelpers ever looking out for the coolest little bakeshops around towns, whole sale ones, nonetheless. I found one, and I lift this one up to you. read more

Best bread (especially German rye), awesome cinnamon rolls, and really great prices!!! GO HERE! They have a cinnamon walnut raisin bread that is so yummy.... Well then let me just add my review to the hundreds of well-deserved reviews already on here (I should have looked at the number of reviews or just used the descriptor "many"). This is a delicious candy land of rotating fresh loaves of warm bread. Obviously it is healthy. So go get bread. By rotating, I mean they have different breads each day of the week, so be privy to your favorites or take an adventure and just choose from what they have that day because that is a good life choice as well. I am in love with Spelt bread. But really, I love all bread. I guess I'm no longer paleo. But I was only that for like 5 seconds (and possibly three Yelp reviews), so bread me. Kelly is bread man extraordinaire. Everything he makes is incredible. If you find a restaurant that serves his breads, that's reason enough to visit. For what you get in terms of quality and quantity, his goods are true bargins. I absolutely hate when we mistime our purchases and have to buy supermarket bread to get through the weekend. After reading the yelp reviews I was really excited about coming here. Upon eating several of their items, I was seriously underwhelmed. The blueberry scone I had was bland, as was the bread. I've got a cookie that I'll eat later tonight but unless it's the best cookie in oklahoma it can't make up for the lack of flavor in the bread and scone. Oh, and I was seriously underwhelmed by the granola. It's alright, but it's not as good as the other reviewers make it out to be. read more

There isn't anything like being surrounded by the smell of fresh-baked bread. I was in heaven as soon as I walked into Big Sky Bread Co. and was so excited to try some of their goodies. I have purchased their bread before from Sprouts but hadn't made it to the store yet so decided to stop by when I was in the area. I really like their Three Seed bread that is whole wheat with poppy, sesame, and sunflower seeds. I also had a peanut butter chocolate chip whole wheat cookie and it was delicious! I definitely could've eaten a lot more than one... Everything was fresh-baked that morning and was still warm. You just can't get better than that! They also have a rewards card for every 12 loaves you buy, you get one free. I usually neglect to fill any rewards cards up fully, but may as well give it a try to get some free bread! read more

Have you ever wondered what heaven smelled like? Go in to big sky and you'll know. This bakery is wonderful. Fresh baked breads and baked goods never disappoint. But you have to get some granola. We absolutely LOVE this bread! I discovered it when I was shopping at Sprouts and found the jalapeno cornbread. YUM! I love that there is no oil in the bread, since we don't eat oils. We buy 6 or so loaves at a time and keep what we aren't eating, in the freezer. The cookies are so so good and I'm really picky about cookies. The store-bought bakery cookies often have an aftertaste that is not good. These are just like homemade, as is the bread. The best is when we get there in time to get warm loaves. On our way home, my husband and I eat the heels off of the tops of each loaf we buy. We moan after each bite of that warm deliciousness. The only thing that I wish they offered, is bread made with organic wheat. Maybe someday. :) read more

I don't understand the 4 stars, because this place is truly as good as it gets. We are in OKC poeple. THE BEST EATING GRANOLA IN THE WORLD. Period. Dot. Yes, all caps, it is that good. If you have not tried this you are doing yourself a dis-service. I typically buy 3 or 4 bags, because I almost kill one bag before I get home and I end up giving another away. Forget trail mix and chips when on that road trip, this is where it's at :) Now the bread. Fantastic. I can't eat regular store bread anymore. The German Rye is my fave, just perfect.
