We stopped in on a saturday evening close to closing time just to get a glass of wine. The owner was there who was super nice. The decor is simple yet with some visual interest, like you would expect a french cafe to look. (The picture of Serge Gainsbourg) We had a glass of rose each and got a complimentary bread and spread. While we were full, we had to try it and it was delicious. He even gave us an extra little top off after we were halfway done with our wine. I traveled last night from Manhattan to Brooklyn, in the rain, to try this recently opened spot, and I was well rewarded for my efforts. The selection of delicious, organic wines was amazing, and the food was delicious. The atmosphere is charming and intimate, the service warm and welcoming, and it makes me feel like moving nearby so I can stop by more often after work. Do give it a try. The heirloom tomato salad is screaming for me to come back for more. I never knew I could love a little salad so much. The cheese plate accoutrements were more than expected giving you many ways of enjoying each bite, and the cassoulet left me very satisfied, especially for the price point. Very disappointing - staff was very unwelcoming, the food was below average. Meatballs were too spicy, too oily and greasy and too salty. "Classic" French onion soup was onion water with a piece of toasted bread with cheese, not the rich deep flavored classic onion soup. W I won't be back for sure. read more

The place was so small, yet didn't feel clustered at all. The ambiance of the environment was wondrously intimate. I loved the design of the walls and the ceiling, featuring eye catching artwork and other designs. Really enjoyed my first outing to Big Tiny, I say first because there will be many subsequent visits in my future. First off, I really enjoy wine bars and saw this one pop up as something new in Brooklyn. The place itself is really cozy and I loved the decor. We met the owner and he happened to be waiting on us. He made lovely suggestions of wine (and let me taste quite a few before deciding on a glass) and helped with the cheese plate selection. Really enjoyed the complimentary olive taponade. We also ordered the scallop dish ( which was lovely and light), oxtail terrine (interesting dish) and the octopus salad ( really nice flavor). What a disappointment! This seemed like such a lovely place from the outside. The bartender (or was is the owner?) was so unwelcoming as if he had done us a favor when we walked in. The food was mediocare not to say bad. The classic onion soup was awful- the place is french, so obviously we expected a classic french onion soup with rich and deep flavors but ended up getting a dull flavorless soup with a piece of tiny toast on it with some cheese. As the main course, we ordered a certain dish, but our server was probably confused and ordered us something different, insisting that THIS IS what we ordered when he served it to us. We decided to try the dish that was served to us by mistake, which was just NOT good. We ended up paying for a dish we didn't order and didn't eat. We won't be back! read more

Went there for the wine, but ended up loving the food. We shared a few plates. The pesto burrata was fresh and flavorful. The mushroom brochette and mini ravioli were also both filling and tasty. They also offer complimentary house made olive tapenade and toasty bread. The wine list is compact and well curated. The by-the-glass wines were mostly old world and again, well chosen. The place lives up to it's Tiny name, but it is cozy and well designed. Will definitely be back. read more

I was concerned that this place wouldn't be anything special because it doesn't have a lot of reviews before coming, but after i sunk my teeth into an oxtail terrine I was proven wrong. All my scepticism faded away when I tried the immaculate octopus salad, it was the right combination of zesty and savory. I was a little worried about the prices here since it seemed like an expensive place, and I was right to worry.. I'm not going to state any prices but let's just say that you won't save a lot of money eating here. read more

The food here is excellent in my unbiased opinion, the oxtail turrine I had when I was here was a blend of flavors I hadn't experienced before, but it really hit the spot.
