I ordered their two item noodle soup. 1st item: beef brisket 2nd item: wontons The beef brisket was very touch and not tender at all The wonton had an amazing shrimp flavour. The broth was kinda bland at first. Not a good start. But As I continued to finish my meal. I must say the soup broth, the egg noodles and shrimp wontons got better and better with each mouthful bite. The beef brisket was still tough I recommend you avoid this item. Overall all, upon finishing my meal I was thoroughly pleased with this experience. I will be back and recommended for their wontons, again recommend avoiding the beef brisket. read more

Service was good both times I went in. They remembered me as "the vacationer" during my second visit. They serve both wontons and Cantonese style dumplings here. This is my regular go-to wonton noodle restaurant. Don't go in expecting great service and you'll have a wonderful experience. The service is incredibly fast. Within 5 minutes of walking in the door and sitting down, I can expect to have a bowl of noodles in front of me. My typical order is the wonton noodle soup or the beef brisket noodle soup with the noodle option switching between wonton noodles and rice noodles (ho fen). My favourite thing about them isn't on their menu, but rather their spicy chili oil. 10/10 restaurant to grab a quick lunch. Be prepared to bring cash as that's all they accept. Washrooms are kept clean. Parking is a little difficult since there's a lot of establishments in Langham Square. There is a parking garage but it is somewhat far from the restaurant. read more

Usually I don't give a 5 for a chain restaurant , but based how much my husband and I enjoyed the noodle soup, it's a 5. Nice atmosphere, not fancy, needs a little freeing up, very clean, the kitchen was clean. The portion size of the meal was good. The brisket was tender, had a nice amount of meat to fat ratio. If it's too lean it's not as tender or flavourful. This was good. It had a bit of tendon attached. I was so happy. The wonton was big , but only had 4. The wontons were delicious. We had the thin noodle in the soup. It was not home made noodle. , but very delicious. I wanted to know the brand. Service was excellent, the tea was refilled quickly. The meal came without delay. Not many customers as it was getting close to close. Meals might take a few more minutes at meal times. The servicer saw we were new customers and came over to be sure we enjoyed the meal after we finished. The cook wanted to know if I enjoyed the brisket. Located in Langham Square plaza across from New Kennedy Square, the parking is not the best but luckily there's parking in the underground garage. The resto itself is like 10 tables and turnover is super fast. Wonton noodles: Fresh egg noodles and wontons. The egg noodles are springy and firm, comparable to Jim Chai Kee and the wontons are packed and taste great but I still prefer JCK for my wonton noodles. Dumplings in soup: Nice and plump. And the wood ear mushrooms added a really nice crunch to the filling. I wouldn't order this again but it was tasty. Beef brisket rice noodle soup: Ok so the brisket was tender and the noodles were nice and slippery. My mom can definitely make a way better broth though. It was slightly on the bland side for me. Maybe cuz her soup is just so damn rich, salty and umami. On the menu they should also change it to beef brisket and TENDON noodle soup because I literally got like 2 pieces of brisket and the rest of my bowl was filled with tendons. I love me some tendons but be careful if you want brisket, you might have to specify to the waitress you don't want any tendons. Pricing-wise, I do feel like these wonton noodle joints are starting to creep up into the "not worth it territory" if I'm being honest. Any item at these joints should always remain under $10 no matter how much inflation hits the resto. Right now the items at this place sit at $10. As it stands, I'd give this place 4 stars. Doesn't beat JCK on quality which is why JCK gets 5 stars from me even though both places inflated their prices astronomically. read more

To be completely honest, for what you're getting, it really isn't value and for me is now just a once in a while guilty pleasure. This place has a lot to like, with fast service with reasonable pricing to delicious classic hk style noodles. I definitely can get my fix of hk noodles here! A nice simple menu thats easy to understand and straight forward. Wontons definitely are very plump and filled with fresh ingredients. I personally prefer the pork and shrimp dumplings because I find them to be more flavourful given theres pork in it as well as wood ear which gives it that textural contrast. Either way, both are well composed and good balance in flavour. Can taste the shrimp throughout with a hint of chinese seasoning and sweetness. The noodles are well cooked. I like the yellow noodles with my wontons, but would opt for the flat noodles if I'm ordering beef brisket. Both are nicely cooked and not mushy/ overcooked that it splits apart. In terms of the brisket, nice big chunks and tender as well. The soup base for this is very fragrant and I honestly can probably drink it all. Nice beef flavours with soy. Rich but not oily or heavy. The beef stomach, which is a love of mine, is texturally present with a good chew but still soft to eat. Highly recommend if you like the offals! They also make dace fish balls and cuttlefish balls, which both are springy and full of the flavours as described. A nice change. Lastly, I highly recommend their jajang noodles, which is a mildy spicy meat sauce with their noodles. It has a hint of spiciness from the chili oil, but also some sweetness shining through, then a little bit of sour which completes the dish! Good pork pieces and I believe some mushrooms to add to the flavours. Well marinated and flavoured overall. Would definitely come back. Even for takeout it's quite hot and keeps temperature well. Wonton Chai is now Big Trio. Same big, bouncy wontons. The egg noodle has good texture and chewy feel. The soup broth is bold but not too salty. The bowl is small, so portion is even smaller than before, but the serving is sufficient for a lunch. You could add an extra serving of noodle for a fee. At $11 a hot meal, Big Trio qualifies as an inflation buster on my book. read more

Wonton Chai recently rebranded themselves as big trio wonton noodle! Their website is also completely revamped and I love how their new menu looks. They still have the same staff and menu but prices have increased. The food still taste the same. My favorite order is the Two Kinds of Topping (Beef Brisket and Shrimp Wontons) with Rice Noodle in Soup. I love their shrimp wontons because they're huge and have a lot of filling stuffed with shrimp! They also have a Chinese dumpling called Sui kow" (水饺) which filling is mainly made up of shrimps, black fungus and bamboo. The noodles do not come with vegetables but you can get it as a side dish with an additional cost. Since their price keeps increasing with the portions not changing, it would be nice if they included a few vegetable pieces like other places. They also have frozen raw products that are perfect for hot pot/ making your own noodles at home. They have chilli sauce available for purchase as well; it is pretty spicy so a little goes a long way. read more

OMG it really hit the spot for us and I mean we ate it all. The broth was really nice, and the noodles were perfect. The portion size could have been a bit bigger, but I guess we were also starving, so that's subjective. The lo mein was delicious and I love that they add a ton of mushrooms in there. These rival the best I've ever tried in Hong Kong. But if you can only try one thing -- make sure you try their amazing shrimp dumplings. This is a step above their other excellent options and an unforgettable experience. This is so juicy, the shrimp has the perfect bounce, the wood ear provides a nice small counterpoint to the saltiness, and the dumpling skin is perfectly thin and silky. Probably a destination dish if you are looking for a taste of Hong Kong. All of this is at extremely reasonable prices and nice portion sizes. This place was recommended to me by a fellow instagrammer. I haven't had wonton noodles for a very long time and being easily influenced, I decided to order delivery from Big Trio Wonton Noodle via UberEats! I was quite amazed that the broth was still piping hot when I received the delivery. The noodles had a great bouncy texture and the plump wontons were packed full of large, juicy shrimp. Highly recommend adding a dash of their insanely fragrant hot chili oil if you like your wontons with a kick! P.S. I didn't order veggies with my noodles so I just added my own baby yu choy. P.P.S. A very consistent chain! We spontaneously wanted some wonton noodles and decided to have lunch at Big trio in the Langham plaza location. The parking for this location is either on the ground level outdoor area or in the underground parking lot. It is quite convenient as there is plenty of parking in this busy plaza. Since we had a late lunch, the restaurant wasn't too full and I was pleasantly surprised with the fairly "new" interior compared to the Scarborough location. We were greeted and seated quickly by the staff. Next they checked our vaccination records and ensured that we provided contact details for tracking. Our orders were taken promptly and we were served our hot and tasty noodle soups pretty quickly. I ordered the 3 topping noodle soup with egg noodles. The three toppings included 2 of each item: Dumplings, Squidball and beef brisket (this may have been 4 pieces actually). This combination made the noodles super flavourful due to the beef brisket sauce. It was quite tasty! I enjoyed the dish as all the items were very fresh and the egg noodles had the perfect chewiness along with the bouncy squid ball and tender beef. The hubs got his usual which was the wonton and dumpling rice noodle combination. All I have to say is his bowl was completely empty at the end of the meal...I guess he enjoyed it lol! Hands down the wonton and dumplings are delicious and you can never go wrong with these items. The hubs mentioned he likes how Big trio uses thick/wider rice noodles so this is definitely a plus. Oh! I was really surprised by the portion sizes. The shrimp wontons and dumplings were huge and there was a lot of noodles. The shrimp wontons were so delicious and was actually full of whole pieces of shrimp. I was expecting it to be minced and mixed with more pork than anything but that was not the case. I was honestly not expecting it to taste that great as most restaurants use lower quality shrimp compared to what I'm accustomed to eating but it definitely surpassed my expectations.. by a lot. Yum to wonton and noodles. Came with a bunch of friends on a cold windy day and needed something hot to warm up. The wonton and dumplings were very big with lots of shrimp. We also had some fish balls and beef with our noodles and veggies. Place has tons of tables but keep in mind that it is on the south part of the mall. Lots of parking underground with limited above ground spots. Service was quick and they also have plugs at bottom of some tables.
