The good: I heard about this new HK noodle house that opened and had to try it. The owners supposedly opened these noodle shops in Hong Kong before, so this is as authentic as it gets! First off, the menu is easy to order. You get to pick the number of toppings and the noodle. I ordered the round noodles with beef brisket, fish balls and vegetable. The serving size is decent. I enjoyed the mild spicy sauce that I was able to add to it. The service was prompt and friendly. They were accommodating whenever I needed something. The ambiance is a simple set up. There wasn't much decor but I guess no decor is decor when it comes to a classic HK restaurant haha. The bad or needs improvement: I did find the chicken wings a bit heavy on the sauce, but still quite tasty! Tip: They are closed on Mondays!

This place is located in the plaza beside golden plaza on highway 7. It is on the side of the building and you can not easily see it from driving as it is almost like a hole in the wall. The outside is very unassuming but my other half and I were on the hunt for some food to fill our bellies and we ended up here at Cart Noodle house. Cart noodle house is derived from the Cantonese of "cha jia meen" which is a play off the very classic original "cart noodles" that was very popular in the 1950's in Hong Kong and Macau. Usually a cart noodle has quick fast eats that are affordable. This place is unpretentious and is on point with everything that they do. We were instantly greeted upon walking in and seated right away. It was decently busy but not crowded. We were given menus right away with piping hot tea. The menu is small, simple and to the point. Nothing crazy, just a lot of variations of noodles and toppings is the heart and soul of this place. It was easy to order and was taken very quickly. English or Cantonese is welcome here when ordering. The server was detailed and asked for all options, left and what seemed like a minute later our table was filled with food all piping hot. My other half and I got two lunch specials where my other half got hainan chicken which was actually deboned! (Thats a bit of a rarity as a lot of places come bone in to save themselves time). The sauce with the hainan chicken was sweet and tangy with a very mild hint of spicyness that is along the lines of a Thai flavors. The rice, chicken and sauce was all good and on point. We also got the lunch special with noodles. We had the curry fish balls, pork skin with thin noodles. It was piping hot, noodles had a great bouncy chew and fish balls were cooked perfectly. Often times with small places you may find that the food is "over done" where its been sitting in its sauce all day and cooked to an almost mush. Everything here tasted like it was made to order, had a nice chew and flavor. There was no extra charge for cold milk tea (a bargain compared to other HK style cafes!) and the pricing was on the lower end compared to other restaurants but not a screaming deal. The table was clean and the environment itself was very pleasant,, not humid and slightly cool. Some noodle places when entering are very muggy and humid where they cheap out on the AC or humidity, this place was not one of them. The enviroment was clean and tidy, plesant, the food was piping hot with a nice bounce and solid flavors given its price point. All in all a good spot to eat it, though I dont know if I would go out of my way to eat here. Its a solid option but there is nothing here that would wow you and have you posting all over your social media that you eat here. Its unpretentious, fills your belly while not emptying your wallet. Nothing more nothing less, but solid all around.

Solid choice if you're craving cart noodles, or noodles in general. Located in a small plaza, just west of the commerce gate and Times Square area. Really simple and straight to the point menu for cart noodles along with a couple of staples from Hong Kong like imitation shark fin soup which actually was really good. Prices were quite reasonable as well. The cart noodle itself was very good. The broth was flavorful and the toppings were relatively generous. I had the beef brisket, pork, intestines, radish, and red sausages as well as split a bowl of imitation shark fin soup. I had picked mild and there was still a small kick. Extra small cost for a drink (hot or cold). Will be back for more!

I came here last sat for dinner at 6:30pm, not too many people, excellent service the waitress is very talkative and always check on every table. I find the owner is very passionate about food, he/she uses high quality fish ball, tea base and cart noodle soup base. Milk tea is a MUST try, I can tell they use high quality tea base. I also drank quite a lot of soup, but I never feel thirsty after a few hours provided that my msg tolerance level is quite low. Their Thai style marinated chicken feet is also very good, lots of flavor, the satay squid I found ok, more sauce than squid itself. Price is definitely on a pricey end with this presentation. There are a few things they can improve ... menu is quite misleading as I didn't know the drink is extra $2. Paper Menu is almost A4 size paper with 3 layers of sheet, they can just simply use a small paper (1/2 A4 paper). They need to work on the presentation as their competitor in Markham comes with different condiments like green onion, parsley etc.

This a a small restaurant. Decor is very Hong Kong inspired, very cute. They serve noodles here with your choice of either 2-4 toppings. A good selection of toppings, mainly what you would see in a Hong Kong street vendor. Service here is quick, not much talking, but gets your food and order down on a check sheet. They also offer afternoon tea with your choice of noodle or rice dish. The food is nice and hot when it arrives. Definitely a good place to come for a quick and simple bite. If I lived closer I would definitely come here more often to fill my hunger pangs.

Pretty authentic HK style noodles. You can customize your own toppings and noodles to your likings. We really enjoyed the skewers as not many restaurants make these. Restaurant was pretty clean and spacious. The service was also very good.

So glad a hidden Hong Kong gem has been brought to Richmond Hill - the 車仔麵! Cart Noodle House (incidentally, the English translation of the noodle dish), offers a HK classic bowl of noodles. For those unfamiliar, guests create their own bowl by selecting a noodle base, toppings, and spice level. This restaurant offers a wide selection of popular noodles (thick noodles, thin egg noodles, vermicelli etc.) and must-have toppings (red sausage, chicken wings, curry fish balls etc.). The curry fish balls might have been my favourite - strong curry taste, and a fish ball with a bite. Many restaurants use cheaper fish balls that taste very powdery, and this was definitely not the case. For those feeling adventurous, I highly recommend getting the Pig's Blood and Pig Intestines as toppings. Unfortunately, I was slightly disappointed with the spice level - the highest was not spicy enough. Nevertheless, having recently been back to HK, I will say Cart Noodle House stays true to HK tradition, and their broth/offerings tastes like home. The restaurant also offers a small selection of HK snacks (Squid tentacles, curry fish balls etc.) for those who might want to try some appetizers. You can also add a HK drink (milk tea, lemon tea, lemon water etc.) for $2.50 to your noodle dish. A definite steal for sure. Make sure to stop by if you're in the area; you might spot me slurping down another bowl of noodles.

Sharp fin soup (food street) Curry squid Coffee is good. A little surprise - they use a duplicated order form

Tried this cart noodle restaurant today and felt it was okay. We ordered the cart noodles and the noodles were a bit over soft, the soup was not quite strong enough, and the toppings were okay. Overall not impressed. On top of that, one of our bowls had a hair in it. I probably won't be returning unless the restaurants next door at the top full.

A classic dish in Hong Kong cuisine, the cart noodle is a favourite of mine. Recently opened in Richmond Hill, Cart Noodle House offers not only cart noodle, but also a handful of snacks and apps. Their cart noodle menu has about 15 toppings to pick from - which you can order 2 to 4 toppings plus your choice of noodles. I went with round noodles and 2 toppings - red sausage and curry fish balls. The noodles were nicely prepared, good bounce to it. The toppings were decent, came with about 4 pieces each. Also ordered a side of deep fried fish skin, good to eat as is or dip in the broth. 2 Toppings Cart Noodle ($9.99) Deep Fried Fish Skin ($6.99) Mixed Tea & Coffee ($2.50) Price Range: $4.99 - $12.99 IG: #The_Yum_Report

My family and I came here because we had eaten at the owner's previous location in Hong Kong. The flavours were still very reminiscent of the original recipe and great value for your money. While the portions were a little small, the soup base is still very worth it.

Overall food, price and service was decent. First time coming here so need to play safe. Ordered pork blood jello, fish ball, pork intestine and spicy chicken wings. Pork blood jello and fish ball is just like ordinary where you can buy it from any supermarket. Spicy wings were good, not too spicy. Pork intestine is quite good as the texture was not too hard or soft. It's clean and flavourful. I've also order medium spicy but I don't think it spicy at all. Will try spicy next time. There were not too many choices but will definitely come back to try other toppings.

We ordered the lunch special $14.99 includes (1 snack, a soup noodle with 3 pre-set toppings, 1 drink). This is an excellent deal and the taste is 8/10 which is acceptable. Service was ok and they only accept cash/debit. It's a small decent restaurant but no wait time, which is great for a quick bite.

The duck tasted ok, but the flavour was a little mild (and I have a very simple palate). It was ok. The skin was excellent though! The YC fried was huge. Overall good taste, but the BBQ pork was a tad too sweet for me. I prefer Auric King's BBQ pork instead. The guy server was super nice and attentive. He asked for feedback and suggestions. We suggested an "all day meal" menu like the traditional hk cafe. The vibe is very 80s Hong Kong style. Very aesthetic, like Garden Cafe, who also does the same style. Check out my interior pics to see! Tables and bowls are a little sticky though lol. Overall, I might come back when they have an all day menu. I see most people ordering noodles, probably because the portions aren't as massive. As of right now, they have the white menu for non members, which is BOGO half off. Also, $30 for lifetime VIP.

The dish comes with a thick flat super chewy ribbon noodle. It doesn't look like a big portion, but the noodles never seem to end! We particularly loved the aromatic garlicy spicy oil, which was full of umami and slightly sweet. It coated the noodles perfectly without making it seem like a noodle soup. The spice doesn't hit you at first, but sure enough it comes back with a vengeance. Be cautious if you decide to up the spice levels! It comes with quite a bit of seafood - scallops, baby abalone and crawfish tails. We've never really had crawfish tails in Chinese cuisine, so this was quite interesting. Make sure to suck on the tail before you de-shell to really get all the umami, and then dip the tail back into the spicy oil for a burst of flavour. Surprisingly, the chewy texture of the seafood complemented the noodles really well. Customer service here is impeccable. We saw nearby tables with phone holders, which we suspect you can request if you want to eat and watch your videos in peace. The staff also hand out individually packaged plastic bibs and gloves to avoid the oil from slashing onto your clothes and will top up your napkin supply without asking. The restaurant has a couple of tables but noticeably, some long benches that run throughout. We were sat in the middle, and were asked kindly by the Owner to move to the end of the table once a bigger party arrived. We had no issues with this, but the Owner decided to give us free pop and apologized for the inconvenience. So nice! Little surprise - there's a Beef Noodle Special after 8:30pm on Monday-Thursday. "Authentic hand pulled noodles in slow-simmered beef bone broth". Sounds like music to my ears - can't wait to come back and try this one out.

We ended up getting the ham macaroni soup with a cheese ham sandwich combo, along with the O Street signature beef sandwich and fries from their new menu. Despite how busy it was on a Saturday, the food came out at a pretty reasonable speed, which I appreciated. The macaroni soup was just okay, very much the kind of simple comfort food that fills you up, but nothing especially memorable. I was most excited for the signature beef sandwich, but it didn't fully meet my expectations. The burger/sandwich itself was smaller than I imagined, and it only had about 2-3 pieces of beef brisket inside with marinated bell peppers and their homemade sauce. The sauce leaned sweeter than expected, which might work for some people, but personally I was hoping for something more savoury and more generous with the beef. However, the brisket was tender, which was a win... ish. Overall, still a decent spot if you're craving classic HK cafe vibes and variety, especially for a casual meal with family.
