If you blink driving into Boulder City, you might miss it and that'd be a shame, because this place ain't just a stop... it's a stroll. The kind where you park the truck, stretch your legs, and suddenly you're wandering past little shops, mom-and-pop eateries, and front porches that practically dare you to slow down a minute. It's got that old-school charm, like time agreed to take its boots off and stay awhile. Now yeah, I did the "TV thing." I swung by The Coffee Cup Cafe you know, the one off Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives. Had my cup of coffee, tipped my cap, said "alright, that's solid." But let's be honest... just because it made it on TV don't mean it owns the crown. Sometimes the real gold's tucked a block over, minding its own business. Enter Big T's Cantina. Now listen... I may be a little biased toward Mexican food but I know greatness when it hits me in the mouth. Those asada tots? Lord have mercy. That's not food, that's an event. That's the kind of plate where you take a bite, lean back, and look at your buddy like, "We ain't leaving, are we?" Drinks were flowing, cold and strong strong enough that at one point I'm pretty sure I told a stranger from Florida he was my long-lost cousin. He didn't argue, so now I might have family in Tampa. And here's where the story turns... We start out minding our business, right? Next thing you know, we're sliding tables together like we're hosting Thanksgiving. Some folks from Florida, a couple locals, and us just talking trash, swapping stories, and somehow it turns into a full-blown drinking contest. Not the official kind, no trophies... just pride on the line and bad decisions being drafted in real time. At one point someone says, "You think you can keep up?" And I go, "Buddy, I work on an oil rig. Hydration is a lifestyle." Five minutes later I'm questioning my life choices and ordering another round anyway. That right there that's what made this place my number one. It wasn't just the food (which slapped). It wasn't just the drinks (which definitely slapped back). It was the people. The way a random afternoon turned into a table full of laughter, strangers turning into friends, and one of those memories you don't plan you just walk straight into. Big T's might not have the biggest ratings. It might not have a TV crew parked outside. But from where I'm sitting? It's the heartbeat of that strip. So here's my advice don't just follow the hype. This place was a big miss for me. We ordered the "tableside" guacamole, but it wasn't actually made tableside, which was confusing. The menu was also a little unclear. There's only one guacamole option listed, but it says you can add things like pineapple or bacon without listing any additional pricing or the original ingredients. I ordered the Loaded Carne Asada tacos, which came with rice and beans. Honestly, the tacos needed about double the meat. It felt like they added extra cabbage and pico to bulk them up instead of giving a proper portion of carne asada. It was weird to have the cabbage on the bottom of the taco instead of the meat. The beans were good though. They tasted like traditional refried pinto beans and were probably the most solid part of the plate. The rice was a miss for me because the cilantro was extremely overpowering. The complimentary chips and salsa were great. The salsa definitely has some heat, so if you like spicy, you'll probably enjoy that part. read more

This is a fun little cantina right in the historic downtown. We stopped in for lunch on a Sunday afternoon. The bartender and local patrons were all fun! The bartender suggested a local craft brew beer that my husband really enjoyed. He also had a delicious plate of cheese enchiladas with verde sauce. I found them gem when I moved here in 2021. The bar staff makes the best cocktails around. Especially Dane!!! I travel often and love trying specialty drinks, his by far are the best. The local regulars are so much fun. It's like dining with family anytime you visit. Solid Mexican tacos! Stopped by for some beers and tacos, big selection of beers to choose from and cold glasses to go with it. Complimentary chips and salsa as well (salsa is homemade and spicy). My friends and I were really happy to fall upon this place after seeing Milo's was closed! So sad... But this place had outdoor seating, perfect for dog parents and their babies. The server even brought my friends pup a fresh bowl of water. So sweeeet! The chips and salsa were phenomenal! This is the best Mexican food I've had in Boulder City within the last 15 years! I was there for lunch, and ordered the cauliflower tacos. I was amazed at how good they were. They were light, seasoned well, and not greasy. If fried cauliflower was made into an appetizer, I think it would work. The salsa was flavorful, but too hot for me, although I can see how others like it. Cute restaurant right on the main avenue close to all that's happening in downtown Boulder City. We came in first thing New Years Day and were seated right away. You can seat yourself anywhere you like, there is also bar seating. They make your guacamole right in front of you which is pretty cool! Service is great and so is the food. read more

First time here on a busy Saturday night after a wine walk event. The restaurant was welcoming and seating was quick on the patio with our party of four. Overall 3.5 rating from us. Definitely try again. Just room for improvement on rice quality, beans, and hope table side guacamole available next time. The server promptly asked us for our drink order. Also, chips and salsa delivered to the table shortly after we were seated. We got four waters, two beers, and one margarita before the food and it was quick. For dinner, we had Tony's Burrito 3.5-4 rating; Swordfish Tacos 3 rating; Trout 4 rating; and a veggie dish 4.5. The food came out very fast. We all enjoyed our meals. Friendly service. Cute place. Chips and Salsa were bomb! Salsa was spicier than I expected it to be (that's a good thing) hubby got the carne quesadilla. I got the tacos and ladies and gents my husband is Mexican and has made papa tacos for me multiple times but these are by far the best I have ever had!
