We've come here serval times in the past but have made this our taco Tuesday spot regularly over the last 3-4 weeks for our family. Today we ordered some tacos and then ended the order with 3 of the pastor tacos. As the cashier lady told us our total, I asked if there was a taco Tuesday deal and she said "yes on the pastor, buy 2 get 1 free" and then just stared at us. We asked if we could take advantage of that offer and she told us that we have to tell her when we order as if she was scolding us and we were in the wrong for not knowing their offer or that we have to tell them when we order. The whole interaction was so weird and made us feel very unwelcome. There are no signs anywhere nor did we see it listed on their menu. I'm only rating with the second star because the food here is genuinely good but the customer service is lacking. It's always felt very rushed when we order here, even when there isn't a line to order but this felt very unwelcoming and we won't be coming back here. There are so many other good taco spots much closer to us, with more taco Tuesday offers that going out of our way to come here just isn't worth it anymore. read more

Chatos Tacos was a pleasant surprise. A small taco restaurant with nice presentations and big flavors. Walking in, the tables were stark clean, and so were the floors and ordering counter - always a great first impression! The fish tacos are a must-have with a perfect crispy exterior breading and a flaky moist fish interior. I loved the garnish and sauce on top, giving a fresh flavor while delivering a great subtle amount of spice. Classic menu with fun fusion ones like birria eggrolls and papa loca (loaded baked potato). There's a salsa bar at the back and plenty of table/seatings inside. You order as you walk in and food is served to your table pretty quick. Didn't get to try their elote but must've been pretty good as they sold out by noon. read more

My sister recommended Chatos right before leaving back to L.A. We stopped and enjoyed an early lunch and let me tell you.... Everything was amazing! Fresh tortillas and the asada was juicy, and full of flavor topped with fresh guacamole and fixings if preffered that way.The chips and pico was also a must as the chips came out hot,thin and crispy! The pico was fresh and tasty. There's a salsa bar with many different salsas, cucumbers,and perfectly sliced carrots. Honestly the best tasting picked carrots and I get them from every taco truck, restaurant, etc. 5 The service was great as we were greeted right away and the food came out really fast. There's plenty of parking and seating inside. The decor is cute and restroom is immaculate. I consider myself a foodie and have eaten at many different Mexican restaurants but Chato's blows them away. Fresh,fresh,fresh and I can appreciate all the extra time making the ingredients by hand. I had a really frustrating experience at Chato's Tacos this morning. My husband stopped by to order some breakfast burritos, but we didn't even get the chance to try them. There were a couple of families ahead of him in line, and the employee taking orders was handling things in a very inefficient way. She would wait for each order to be prepared and handed out before taking the next one instead of moving the line along by taking multiple orders. By the time it was finally my husband's turn, he ordered breakfast burritos and was told that they stopped serving them at noon. The frustrating part is that he had already been waiting in line well before noon, but because orders weren't being taken in a timely manner, he missed out. He even pointed this out, but was still told no. It just seems like this could've been easily avoided with better organization. Really disappointing experience. read more

It's Taco... Thursday? Chatos Tacos is a taqueria located in a small but relatively new plaza on the southwest corner of Stephanie and Wigwam. They have the sort of menu familiar for anyone who frequents similar spots around town. I showed up for an early dinner and found both the parking lot and dining room pretty vacant. I had tacos on my mind and got several ($3.50, with one exception from my choices). The portions are in the 3-4 bite range, which was plenty enough to fill me up. The al pastor was the al pa-star, with juicy marinated pork, delicious pineapple, and a mild-medium creamy green salsa served on two tortillas. Carnitas, buche, asada were all good too. The carnitas is packed with moist pork, the buche is soft and flavorful, and the asada is surprisingly tender and carries some light char. The quesabirria ($4.00) was a little salty for me though. That's surprising considering that the consomme ($2.00) is not too salty and is actually drinkable just as a soup. I wasn't feeling the taco and would have preferred skipping it, although it did do the most to make the horchata ($4.50, 24 oz) seem worthwhile. Their recipe is a little sweet for my taste, although I'm sure I can blend some coffee with it tomorrow morning. There isn't much service in their business model, and you can grab your own goodies from the salsa bar, including very juicy lime wedges and thankfully mild tomatillo salsa. There's a mishmash of stuff on TV, including reruns of Kitchen Nightmares (maybe to make these guys look better), but the loud music seemed like all reggaeton beats blasting over the speakers. Chatos has some of the best al pastor tacos I've tasted in a while, so I'll definitely be back when that craving hits. They're a must-try if you live in Henderson for the al pastor alone and mostly do other proteins well too. read more

This was a recommendation from my friend. She raved about the loaded baked potato. I got a loaded potato (papa loca) with al pastor and a buche taco. The buche taco was super soft almost melt in your mouth and very flavorful. The loaded baked potato was topped with cheese, guacamole, cilantro, crema and al pastor. I had the onions on the side. Very delicious and the flavorful. The only side note for me is they need to add more meat for the price point. I also had a cucumber/lime aqua fresca which was fantastic. One of my top fave after this first visit! Flavorful chicken tacos, seasoned and cooked perfectly! Delicious elote on the stick or off is a must have! Friendly service with kind greetings as you walk in! Seating inside only with a casual set up of chairs made of metal barrels. Really cute! Music playing overhead with two 65-70" TV's for viewing! We got the birria ramen, birria burrito, birria taco (bet you can't guess we are big birria fans) elote and gringo tacos. First off, their birria. Oh. My. Gosh, so good. We have another popular place we thought was the best but the birria here was hands down the best we have ever tried. So juicy and flavorful. You don't need the extra consommé on the side in my opinion. The elote, which is my go to always, was equally impressive. My daughter who is so picky and doesn't like many things have this a try and loved it. In fact, she asked to finish the rest. It was a bittersweet moment since I wanted more! When you walk in it is nice and bright. The cashier was sweet, but seems a little bit hectic. Overall from the time we ordered, picked our seat, and grabbed condiments it was a quick turn around. The horchata is not self serve, but it was delish! Pricey side for almost $5, but good. The food was the star. The burrito was pretty traditional, nothing special. The cheese taco was a bit oily but had a nice crisp. I loved the pickled onions on this. Now the true reason we came was for the stuft potato. This is the STAR and worth every single penny. Nice find just down the street! Elevated flavors and attention to quality here. From the uniquely designed interior, bright and beachy, to the food itself, great attention to detail given here. I had the Mulita which is sort of like an open faced street taco with another tortilla on top, making it sort of a street taco sandwich. More filling than a normal taco. I got the Al pastor since it looked really good and boy was it. It was so fresh and flavorful, it reminded me of Tacos El Gordo, I hope they consider that a compliment, because it's meant to be. The true indication of their authenticity and freshness is their tortillas. I love fresh "homemade" tortillas and these corn tortillas were just that. Slightly thicker, tender, distinct organic corn flavor. I'm a sucker for bean and cheese burritos as well. The beans had the perfect flavor. And I liked that there was just enough cheese to taste it every bite, but not so much where it's super thick. The beans are a little runny, I don't mind that but makes it a little messier to eat. Would probably add rice next time for structure. But once again, the tortilla was so fresh and flavorful. Appreciation for fresh flour tortilla is a whole different palate than it is for a fresh corn tortilla. And I'm happy to say they are both A+ quality here. The green salsa was best for me. Didn't care for the chipotle salsa or the other red as much. I had the pleasure of visiting with Ashley Oré ,and we even ran into a BMX champion and reality show host, TJ Lavin The Mexican food here is amazing. We tried the street tacos (both al pastor and carne asada), the Gringo taco (loaded with meat, melted cheese, cilantro, onion, guacamole, crema, and cotija cheese on a handmade corn tortilla), and the birria egg rolls. The street corn "Elote" and the birria plate with beans and rice were also delicious. Our absolute favorites were the Papa loca (mashed potatoes dressed with al pastor, carne asada, guacamole, salsa, and sour cream) and the Pho con birria (a flavorful soup made with slow-simmered beef stew and Vietnamese rice noodles). I've been here before for their delicious tacos. I recall writing the review, but I don't see it now, do let's do this. I had to go to the dreaded DMVvdd and knew exactly where lunch would be. Today I tried the massive baked potato! I got it with pollo and all the fixings. This will last me 3-4 meals. The pollo is well seasoned, juicy and succulent. Not one dry piece. I love their guacamole. I love tomatoes but for whatever reason not in my guacamole. Weird, I know. But their guacamole is amongst the best. And the potato is tender and fluffy and perfect. I hardly ever feel compelled to write reviews but this is the best Mexican food I've had in Vegas in a very long time! Cute spot, I love the beer chairs, no frills but the food blew my mind. Without meat, the regular burrito is vegan with whole beans and no need to modify it. I added the papas and it was amazing. But the salsa bar is what makes this spot even better; the smoky hot red salsa is out of this world. The ingredients used are all SO fresh. You can taste the quality. The service was good as well!
