I brought my friend here because she was looking to buy a used car. I always drive by this place to go to the freeway, and they always look like they have a nice stock. I've even thought about coming here myself if I were ever in need of a car. After what happened here on Monday though, they can forget about that for sure. We came in, and after a few mins of looking around, we were approached by a man named Humberto. He was nice, and friendly, and showed us a few cars before my friend saw a Toyota Rav4 that was around the size and price she wanted. She and Humberto took the car for a test drive (I stayed behind). When they returned, she was looking sort of put off. I asked her what was up, and she said during the drive, the car was making a strange noise in the rear. She said he stated that it was the LENGTH of the car that was making the noise. What? I've never heard of such nonsense in all my life. I asked if he wouldn't mind taking it for a second run, this time I would join and listen. We did, and it sounded terrible. "Whats making that noise?" "Um, its the length of the car... its so short, that it catches a lot of wind." Ok... I've been driving SUV's for years. A new Rav4 isn't going to make a noise based on the size. Gimme a break. She still liked the car though, even with its scratches, dings, and weird noise. When we got back to the dealership.. I couldn't get out. That's when we realized that the electrical door locks were trashed. "Um.. we will fix it, if you're gonna buy the car." She was still fairly interested, though it was waning pretty quickly because of Humberto's flirting and sweet talk. Why do auto salesman try to play female buyers like a fool? Its such a turn off! No one is sweetie, or baby, or honey. This is a business transaction. They wanted $7,900. She offered them $7,000 with $5,500 down. They said no. ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!!! They REALLY REALLY wanted her to finance, and were really being pushy. She said she would think about it and return the next day. Return she did, with our mechanic Jack Mehon (see my review for Sal's automotive). He listened to the car, and found the bearings were bad in the rear, and after a closer look, discovered the tires were no good. All that on top of the locks/ electrical work would be about a $2,000 repair. Needless to say, she didn't buy it. If Humberto wasn't a liar, she might have bought it anyway, but they acted like they were doing her a favor by fixing the locks... and who would lose a $7,000 sale for $900 on a car that needs about $2,000 in repairs and maintenance? Someone who thinks women buyers are soft fools, that's who. Forget this dealership. They are liars who sell lemons. read more

Don't ever buy a car from here! they sold me a lemon. A week after purchasing my car the check engine light turned on... Turns out the catalytic converters were bad! The car has two, and they're $900 EACH! They just turned the check engine light off with their computer, but eventually the light will come back on because there's a problem. This place is the reason small dealers have suck a bad reputation. I wanted to write this review for a couple of months now. I purchased a vehicle here with the intentions of getting a good deal and supporting small business. For starters I got what I wanted from my trade in which was the best part of the deal. I purchased a 10 MB GLK350 with under 80,000. After only two days of driving out of the dealer I had major issues come up. I was doing some maintenance on my other vehicle and I smelled gasoline. I looked under my MB and saw huge amounts of gasoline dripping down. I called my salesman who said that "no problem bring it to a third party and he will fix it." Now at this point I decided two things believe him and risk him putting a bandage on it or actually fixing it , or taking to my own guy that will tell me the truth. So I did the second option of course. The salesman told me not to worry but didn't tell me ahead of time that he was only going to cover $150 of the cost. I was shocked at that. I was quoted from 3 different mechanics over $900 for the repairs. Now keep that in mind I only had the vehicle for over a week. A weeeeeekkkk.!!!!! All to this date I have had major repairs done to this vehicle that made me so angry and my will never recommend. To date I have spent over $3000 on repairs and counting. This place is a joke and not to be trusted. I should have just gone to an actual dealer. If you really want a dealer who is going to stick to there word and mean what they say this place is not it. I got three tickets cause i couldn't register it after they told me they were gonna help me since they sold it to me with expired tags to begin with. The worse thing is i dealt with the owner who i believe her name is Carol who failed to tell me the car was salvaged. so after i purchased a new car elsewhere i drove the one i bought there and i parked it behind the building and i walked out. I normally never want to leave a bad review, but after my non-existent interaction with this place, I feel the need to leave my opinion. My family and I have been looking for weeks for an affordable, suv (preferably Tahoe, Yukon or Suburban)that isn't loaded with miles and has cloth seats ( needle in a haystack) so when I came across two vehicles from Big Valley Auto that matched everything we were looking for I became ecstatic. My only problem being I live 1.5 hours away from the dealership so before driving that far to even look at the vehicle, we wanted to make sure we would even be approved. I filled out a request first online, never heard back. I called two days later and this is what I get...."hello?" So this I first thought was odd, not really your typical greeting from a business, but ok. I proceeded to tell him I was interested in a couple vehicles and would like to speak with someone regarding financing. He then quickly replies with "ok, I'll have somebody call you back" and HUNG UP without even taking my name or phone number down. Mind you, he also seemed to sound irritated that he even had to be on the phone, or was busy with something else, idk. To me, first impressions are EVERYTHING and this was definitely not a good one. Very disappointed because I was very interested in the two vehicles I found on their site but I will take my interest somewhere else now. Sorry, Big Valley Auto. I bought a Nissan Back on June this year , the worse experience with this Guy German (sales man) he sold me a 2005 Nissan Altima, asked me for $4,000.00 as down payment , this vehicle had mechanical problems since day 1, when i took the car to get insured, the car wouldn't start, i took the car back and forth to dealer and vehicle keeps breaking down on me, different problems like, transmission, battery etc, German would never really fix the car till I decided to give it back to dealer, and when I ask for my $4,000.00 back, he said that was used for taxes?? i sent a couple letters but they completely ignored me, I would advice to be careful with this dealer, so far i haven't seen a penny back, stay away from this place. read more

BUYER BEWARE! I bought a car from them just over a year ago. In the first week, the transmission had to be rebuilt. A month later, the suspension had to be replaced. Since then I have found cheap repairs that were done that I've had to replace, including supergluing an intake hose and securing it with a zip tie. They have great service until you buy the vehicle. Found a car that peeked my interest, called to confirm that they still had it on their lot and confirmed the price. Got a solid yes and an invitation to come down. They gave me time to take that first look without interruption, loved that. Decided that I liked what I saw and met with Humberto. This guy couldn't have been nicer. Calm, not pushy, very knowledgeable. Left all the decisions up to me. Before I test drove, I wanted to talk numbers. He was very willing. I then met with their finance manager, Carlyn, who was equally as knowledgeable about loan terms. Was able to answer my questions and walk me through the numbers. Best part about it...completely transparent. Every number was explained, every line item was discussed. The prices that we talked about were the same prices listed on the final paperwork. Gave the car a test drive. Felt good. There is always risk in buying a used car. No matter where you go. But at least here, I felt that I was given honest communication about the process. Drove the car home that night. Can you buy a new car with less risk? Sure, but even then you are subject to the level of customer service. You can overpay at Carmax all you want. But if you want a car at a fair price from people that have been doing this for over 25 years, check out Big Valley Auto. We bought a car here and paid in cash and it only lasted 7 months, until it started giving me problems. When we tried to trade it in for another car, they gave us the run around for a week...and then started ignoring our phone calls and emails. The car we got looked good cosmetically, but we found out after few months that it had a lot of problems. I suggest you have your mechanic inspect the car before buying it. If I could give this place a fat ZERO I would. I bought a car here for 15,000$ and the dealer did not mention any of the major problems it had. When I took the vehicle back for them to repair it, it took about 3 weeks!! Ridiculous. They gave me a loaner vehicle that died the same day i got it! After calling and being lied to several times about the finish time of my vehicle I finally got it back and it was not fixed at all! They just reset all the lights that turned on a few days later.
