Ok so we bought a 2003 Toyota Tacoma 4-door PreRunner. When we got there everything seemed normal, but one thing that stood out immediately was the truck having almost no fuel in it. We completed all the paperwork and took the truck home. The very next day, Saturday, we drove it to Azusa and immediately noticed the truck was struggling badly. It had almost no power and could barely get past 40-50 mph. On the drive back home, the check engine light came on. My boyfriend notified the dealer right away -- not even 24 hours after purchasing the vehicle -- and even sent them a photo of the check engine light. We were told they would notify the maintenance department. We then took the truck to a mechanic to have it inspected. The mechanic diagnosed it with a bad catalytic converter and a bad mass air flow sensor. My boyfriend even went and purchased an original sensor for the truck himself trying to resolve the issue. The mechanic quoted approximately $2,500 in repairs. Again, my boyfriend reached out to the dealership and eventually got in contact with "KIKE," who was supposedly handling the issue. Instead of professionally helping resolve the problem, he was extremely rude, disrespectful, and made unnecessary low-blow comments toward my boyfriend. We were continuously given the runaround whenever trying to discuss a solution. The dealership was notified immediately about the issues, yet they denied any responsibility or assistance. In California, dealerships still have legal obligations when selling vehicles, especially regarding smog and emissions systems. A vehicle with a failing catalytic converter raises serious concerns about how this truck was approved and sold in the first place. At this point, we will be moving forward with legal action and filing complaints as necessary. We have documentation, messages, photos, and mechanic diagnostics supporting everything stated above. ‼SUPER SHADY‼‼ We were super interested in 4Runner, was told nothing was wrong with it. Test drove it everything seemed great, but the sales man definitely did not want us to drive it for long and kept suggesting we go back. Before calling I had asked MULTIPLE times if everything was fine I asked about everything from the engine to past codes etc was told everything was checked out and fine. Was super excited day of about to buy it we asked if we can bring it to our lot and leave our insurance personal car, and keys, and they declined so we decided to pay for a mobile mechanic, and he found 7 different CURRENT codes on the 4 runner. Specifically issues with the engine , that would need to be fixed either now and/or very soon in the future. We obviously decided not to buy the car , when we left our personal mobile mechanic was told and questioned why he told us everything about the car and he was told that mechanics would not be able to come inspect cars anymore. If you want to buy an overpriced car or truck here that will break down here's the place to do it. read more

SCAMMERS!!!! STAY AWAY!!!! Recently dealt with these guys while looking into buying a new daily driver. Unfortunately got scammed into buying a car that seemingly had great maintenance prior to their ownership. Within 25 miles of driving the car to get a full inspection of the vehicle the scanner my mechanic used indicated they had cleared 4 different codes prior to me picking up the car. $4,000 worth of repair hidden by a bullshit detail job and brake cleaner sprayed around the car hiding the oil leaks and other faults in the engine bay. read more

If I could give zero stars I would. Bought two trucks from this place. Never told me anything about the car's problems. The first car everything started to fall apart within six months. The transmission broke. The full injections were really bad. The coils were all broken from the engine. Next car was a truck. Within three months the transmission broke. Save your money DO NOT BUY from this place. They only give you a 30 day warranty. They just sell cars that break down within 3 to 6 months. These cars are trash and so is the company! read more

Drove all the way up to this dealer from Orange County to see a 2012 Hyundai Accent they were selling. Roberto showed us around and was quite helpful and courteous. Car appeared to be in great shape though the turn signals weren't working during the test drive. We left a deposit on the car as Edgar, the finance manager, had promised they'd get this fixed, but their mechanic was off (it was evening). There was also no spare tire, but Edgar said he'd try to locate one for us, which he did. We came back to the dealership to pick the car up yesterday (2/11/23) only to find that someone had taken the rear cargo privacy shelf (it's the cover that covers the area between the rear seat and hatchback) from the car. When brought to Edgar's attention after the sale he wanted nothing more than to make things right. He and the dealership could have easily turned their backs at this point, but chose to keep a customer happy. This is a rarity in this day and age and changes my perspective of a used car dealer, at least Super Select stands out among them. I had been to Super Select before - though it was years ago. The car I had wanted wasn't at the Van Nuys location - I wound up going to the Sepulveda location on that trip. But this time...this time I went to this location. And it would turn out that they would hold the test drive as hostage. I had been in a car accident, totaled my car, and remembered that SS was down the street. So I walked to this location. I wasn't expecting to see anything I liked but was wrong. There was a cute little 2007 Acura RDX. Then Roberto came into the picture, and things went downhill. He asked what I was looking for, and at first I said I wasn't sure, but then told him I was looking for an SUV. A few minutes later I asked about test driving the Acura. He said I wouldn't be able to do that today (I thought it was cause the car was tetris-ed into the back, but he told me they didn't have anyone to do the test drive with (even though there was a couple there doing a test drive). Within this time he had already told me to go online and fill out and application so they could run credit and all that OR we could go inside and do it now...2 times. Both times I told him I wasn't going to do that cause I hadn't tested the car first. I was told to comeback tomorrow. So I left, and I did go online. And saw the car. Listed at $10,888. The car on the lot was list $10,955. I investigated further - the car was $2600 overpriced. I still wound up setting a test drive for the next day. It states they will call and/or email. I got neither. Nothing to inform me that I wouldn't be able to do the test drive. Nothing stating when I WOULD be able to do the test drive. The next day I called. I waited for a full 5 minutes (there's a lot of rings in that time) before just wobbling over there. The car hadn't been moved. It was 10am. And here comes Roberto. He asked if I remember him I said yeah. I asked bout test driving the car again. He said they didn't have anybody there for that. I asked why was I able to sign up for a test drive today if there was nobody there. He apologized and mentioned covid. I also asked why they didn't answer their phone, or send a email. He didn't have an answer for that - but based on the reviews I read it seemed par for the course. He bumbled his words, and then had the nerve to tell me to go online to fill out an application - or I could do it right there and then, that way when i come back the next day I could be paperwork ready. So I explained that i wasn't going to have them look at my credit (which effects your score) just for a car that I wasn't sure I would be getting. He proceeded to tell me to go online 4 more times. I asked which credit bureau did they use. He said Credit Karma. (blank stare) I said that's not a credit bureau. I asked why the car prices were different? He said might be an online deal. Might be? You don't know? I asked when could I test drive the car. He said the next day...at 6pm. I said that wasn't going to work for me. He said well we might be able to do it at 9am, cause those 2 hours were the coolest. (blank stare) I pulled my mask down and said, "So when I come back tomorrow this car will be ready for a test drive?" I was assured yes. I walked by the next day, it was not. It hadn't been moved at all, and moving it would take a few minutes. I just went back home. They don't pay attention to their website, or their phones. All Roberto wanted was for me to fill out an application. I get the stereotype of black people having poor credit, but don't ever let someone pressure you into looking at your credit BEFORE you're sure you want a car! Never going back to this place. Side note looking at the car online and they dropped the price to $9888-wonder if that is reflected on the lot. It's still $1000 overpriced. read more

I had to buy a new car by emergency since my old car was a total loss and everything seemed fine but once a few days passed the back passenger door wouldn't lock. I went back and told them about it and Eric whom I'm assuming is the owner or manager of the place told me I bought what i bought and that was it. I said it would be nice if he would let costumers know what was wrong with the cars if anything and let the costumers make up their minds if they want to buy it or not. He said he only does the minimum that is required by law and the rest the owner has to deal with. Total bs and not how you run a business or do costumer service. Honestly, I don't like to write bad reviews but I hope this one helps whoever is considering purchasing a car from this place change their mind and run the opposite direction. I don't believe the positive reviews that are on here (they're probably family friends trying to clean up their bad rep) but I do relate with the negative ones. Just like everyone else, I came in looking for a decent car obviously used but in good shape to take me from point A to point B. They had a cute 2015 Chevy Trax that looked really good in person and on paper. The "carfax" showed no accidents and zero issues with the car as if their was virtually no wear and tear except for the miles. Everything looked almost perfect at a very reasonable price so of course my husband and I bought it. We took it in for an oil change a week later since the car seemed to need it and ever since then it has been a domino effect of just car problem after problem. The car would legit turn the oil black in a matter of every two weeks and when the mechanic took a look under the car it was a hot silicone mess, we were victims of a Mickey Mouse job. We took it to 3 different mechanics who all seem to point to the same direction of having to do an ENORMOUS amount of work to get it somewhere decent. I called the main guy about what was happening and the only thing he would say was " you're passed your warranty so theirs absolutely nothing we can do about it" which is a total BS answer to give since we were within the 30 days. So now we're stuck with a brand new lemon that happens to be a bottomless pit of money and now I'm definitely considering lawyering up. read more

If I could give this dealer 0 stars, I would. They sold me a warranty for engine and transmission and when my transmission went out, they wouldn't cover it. I demanded a refund on the warranty to help get my car out of shop. They said they would return warranty money on Feb 4, it's not March 9. I call everyday and everyday I get a different story. Oh, it's been mailed. Oh, we have to cancel it first. Oh, managers is out of town. Oh, I will call you back. No help! Today's excuse was one of the office assistants was out of town until next week. Just back on January I got a 2008 toyota tacoma from this dealer, next day I went from Van Nuys to Santa Fe Springs, just to find out, the truck was pulling to the side when breaking at 55 miles per hour, noted the tire pressure sensor was on, brakes were not properly working. AC stopped working. Took it back so the can fix the brakes, tire sensor and AC. They only fixed the brakes. After getting back, next day, the truck stopped working because it had no gas BUT the gas pump was marking 1/4 of gallon. Had to pay tow truck to take it back to dealer. The gas pump was not fixed, they only added gas to truck and said it was ready for pick up. 29 days later, the truck started to over heat and the check engine light was on. Apperantly Enrique the so called service manager took it to the repair shop to replace the radiator but seemed to me they only replaced the coolent and nothing else. Before this, I had told Edgar the finance manager, that I did not want this truck because it had giving me SO MANY problems. He said he would check and get back to me on SUNDAY. NEVER got a called back instead I called back and Enrique said the truck was ready. Nevertheless, After all of these issues, I had previously purchase a new set of 4 tires because the tires it initally had were in bad condition. I had also bought a camper shell. So for the 3rd time I got the truck back, but a week after I had it, it began to over heat again. Now Enrique, the un professional maintenance manager, said the truck needed head work because there was water passing through the heads. Now he is telling me today 3/11/21 that I have to pay 50% of the repair cost because the warranty had expired. THESE GUYS ARE CROOKS, I want people to know how these people do business, please dont risk your money nor time that you have worked so hard to get. Now they are telling me that if I dont want the truck, they will sell it at an auction and if the selling price does not cover the pay off value, the rest I have to pay. These is really rediculous.
