I was perfectly satisfied with this motel after a long day on the road. The man at the front desk was warm and helpful, the room was comfy and quiet, and its theme was right up my alley (weird). There was no coffee maker but I came prepared with a microwave-ready cup, tea, milk and stevia. So no worries there. There's no hairdryer, FYI. read more

I'll admit; we stayed here because of the name, and because Ryan and Shane from Buzzfeed: Unsolved stayed here. I literally wasn't expecting too much. Still, we did alright! I got a phone call the day before we were supposed to check in and the young man told me that the room I had reserved online was out of commission for renovation, but offered me similar quarters at ten dollars less. That was a great heads-up! We arrived around 8:15 at night and it took a bit to check in, but wasn't that bad at all. The room itself is very obviously dated, but if they're in the middle of renovating, then it would probably be a good thing. We didn't have enough towels (two beds, room for four people, and only two "full" size towels?) and the shower controls were a bit wonky. The heater worked fine, although it buzzed a little, and the curtains could use some work. Altogether though, we got what we were looking for, which was a clean room for the night. We also got to check out the "Bigfoot Cage" they keep in the parking lot and it was right in the middle of the town, allowing us to walk everywhere we wanted to go that night and the next day. I didn't have anything special to say about it, but it wasn't horrible. Perfect three stars. If we came back, I'd consider staying again. However, I'd make my reservations via phone to try and get one of the renovated rooms instead. read more

We have never been in this part of California. Pick the big foot motel from the Internet. The price was reasonable so we stayed 4 days. Was very rundown and we were told no one around to clean our room. I have poor vision and trying to manage all the different levels of stairs they have. The room was very old and outdated. Do yourself a favor. Spend a little more money and enjoy your stay at a better location. read more

The manager started banging on our door at MIDNIGHT demanding payment when in fact I already paid. I showed proof of payment by showing her the receipt that she gave me. Apparently that wasn't enough and threatened to call the police so I decided to call them as well. When the police arrived they reviewed my proof of payment and at that point she admitted her mistake. For my own safety I decided to leave because she brought a strange man to my door with her (not a staff member) and I no longer felt safe staying in that room. Horrible experience. Ruined my trip! The room was absolutely filthy and unsanitary additionally it was unsafe. The door did not function properly to we're the key would not lock or unlock the door. Could pop it opens by just pushing on the door. Both beds were filthy, clear not washed or maintained. Every fixture had layers of dirt dust and stains. The bath was littered with used dirty wash cloths that clearly had been there for more than a day. Noise level was horrible the room next to us had a screaming baby and loud people. Upon check out the lady just said yea sorry your not the first compliant. We requested a refund as we checked up a day early due to the over filthy and unsafe situation. They check out lady just said no ! . I have attempt 3 times to reach a manger at this point to discuss this matter and nothing. I have filed a dispute with my bank. It was clean, the staff helpful and friendly. The motel is in the center of town which allows you to walk everywhere. Our room had no tissue box, iron or ironing board. Just so you know to bring your own. read more

I would not recommend - save your time. My truck broke down on the side of the highway last night 06/12/23 miles from willowcreek. While I was waiting for a tow, I called this Bigfoot hotel. While I was talking I got hung up on, then received a text stating bad cell service. After waiting hours and getting a tow Into town, I was waiting at the office door where I was met with a overly drunk lady. She was completely out of it. Forgot who I was, stood there for a while staring into space. Gave me multiple keys to different rooms. The amount of alcohol from her breath was crazy. I felt very VERY uncomfortable. After the most unpleasant experience I ever had with a place of business, i went to my room. The room was upstairs above the office. When I entered the room at 12 midnight, it was 85 plus degrees. I turned the ac on and after 20 mins and the room was still super hot, I noticed heat coming out of a floor vent I had no control over. I tried going back to the office to where I had no answer. I tried calling and same regard. I ended up walking to another hotel down the highway at 1 AM. Can't believe this business is still open. read more

Love this place!! The new staff is so much nicer & makes you feel welcome. Last time I was here, it was dingy & dirty. The improvements made to this Motel are quite noticeable. It's welcoming & fits the essence of the area. Down to earth. Even the guests who stay here are friendly & Respectful to one another, it's just a great vibe. The Managers bend over backwards & truly aim to please. They want you to leave feeling like you had a great stay there. Very rare. I especially love the touch of the little table & chairs outside of the rooms. I'm not the type of person who wants to be stuck in a room watching tv so this is perfect. Too bad they filled in the pool, maybe they will put a jacuzzi instead. read more

After a very long day of driving some of Northern California's more challenging roads, we were all very happy to roll up the Bigfoot Motel. We'd called to say we were running late and arrived just as the lighted sign was shut off (after 11pm), but the lady behind the desk was kind enough to come back out to sign us into our rooms. The overall feel of the rooms is a little rustic, but as promised the heaters work incredibly well and we were all quite toasty and happy for the night. Willow Creek itself is a neat little town with a great deal of Bigfoot heritage. More than once I expected the theme from Twin Peaks to start playing as the clouds skirted through the trees. We were all happy with the accommodations and the little coffee shop around the corner (next to the NAPA auto parts store) was also quite good! read more

Oh Bigfoot Motel how much you have fallen. My family has come up here every year for two weeks every summer. We've been here and have seen this place at it's best of times and it's worst of times. However I have never seen it so low. I remember when the current owner Ester took over. My girls played with her son and had a great time and got to know her. We sent you an email thanking you for the wonderful summer we had. The new manager is a complete nightmare. Between the drug abuse at the hotel and the craziness of how it is run. When we first arrived I asked for room 19 for two weeks. We were originally booked for it but instead we got 14, another full size room with the kitchen. She had told us nobody had been in it for a few years. When we checked in, the TV was torn apart and no wires attached and was not working. We checked in anyway and some young guy who said he didn't even work there but yet was running the office came by and try to reconnect the wires. It didn't work. Then we found out the toilet was not flushing. Literally for the first day, poop was flowing up to the top and not going down. It was the most disgusting thing ever. My wife went to complain to Cheryl the manager and Cheryl started going off on some rant seemed absolutely crazy. And I'm talkin far out there crazy. Told my wife that if she expected the stuff to work she'll just cancel us off the books and we can go stay at a Best Western in Eureka. I guess requesting a TV and a toilet that flushes is too much. So I walked over to Cheryl I said are you kicking us out of here because we want a toilet. And then she tried to say I never said that and said it's hard enough that she has to talk to her staff let alone customers. I couldn't believe what she just told me. This is the manager of a hotel. I went back to our room and I told my wife let's just pack up and go. I asked for Ester's contact and Cheryl refused. Then all of a sudden I got a knock on my door and she realized we were here for two weeks and it just dropped $2,500 and said oh let's start things over and gave me a menu for a restaurant that opened up across the street and try to give me 20 something dollars and said please don't leave. I refused to take her money and I said good let's start over all we want is a toilet that works. The next day or two they got somebody out to fix the toilet but the TV still doesn't work. In the entire two weeks we were here the TV never worked. She kept saying something somebody is called but nobody ever showed. Every time you try to talk to her it was crazy. Now let's go to the cleaning staff. Every day that lady would come in and she would have her son's working with her in the room or somebody else. When she was done my room reeked of the smell of pot smoke. I had to specifically ask not to have my room cleaned just give me towels and toilet paper. It was a complete nightmare! The maid has a dog that she just lets roam wild around the whole thing, no leash, no nothing. I have a big dog and other people do to and her dog would come up create problems it's like if you're cleaning in a room put your dog in your room or on a leash instead of creating that. The manager has a dog she keeps locked up in his gated area 24/7 and I felt sorry for the dog it just sat there and whine and if it made any noise Cheryl came out and blew a whistle really loud to get it to stop barking. Maybe if you took care of your pet it it wouldn't welp cry like that. I am sorry Ester we love you and we love the Bigfoot hotel and I stayed here for I can't say 20 years but under this current management I would never come back. Until I would hear that that lady is gone and this current system is changed we'll just stay at one of the Cottages nearby because we love it up here but it has gone so downhill with you not here. I didn't expect that a working toilet for a TV was too much to ask. It was sad that my girls were scared to go get ice without Cheryl giving them dirty looks. You expect a manager to want to help people and not say she doesn't want to talk to them. I still can't believe she said that to me but when she found out I dropped two weeks worth of bookings did she sure changed her mind. This hotel always provided free Wi-Fi so my daughter's asked for the password and the boy that was in the office who apparently doesn't work there said Cheryl doesn't give it out and charges people for the Wi-Fi password. That completely blew me away and when I told him it's always been free he then said fine and he handed it to us. Low and behold, Cheryl changed the Wi-Fi password the next day. Anyway I hope to actually hear back from you Esther because I know this is your business and you are a good person. However your management is destroying your livelihood. Beware of this place. Crazy tweaker owners that don't care about COVID, neither of them were wearing masks. Worst experience I've ever had at at motel. Went to check in and the lobby/check in area was locked, wasn't answering the bell or phone for about 10 minutes. A woman that was apparently the owner starting waving me over in the parking lot and rudely told me that they were full before I even had a chance to say I had reservations. When I said I had second thoughts about staying there she exploded with anger and started screaming at me and my friends to leave her hotel or she was calling the sheriff. She was getting in our faces and we got out of there as soon as possible. She called me a B*tch with an attitude multiple times. We have it on video. Unfortunately, I wasn't impressed staying here. To begin with, the attendant never answered her phone. I called multiple times over a 2 hour period and no answer. Then when I get there at 7 pm. I see her laying on her couch. I had to ring the doorbell twice to get her up so i could get keys to my room.The room was clean, but smelled of smoke. I opened the door for fresh air, and there were people smoking outside as well. Couldn't get away from the smoke. The attendant still wouldn't answer the phone. So i couldn't ask to change rooms. I became terribly I'll with a migraine and vomiting that I'm convinced was triggered from the smoky smelling room. I paid over $400 for 3 nights (didn't stay the third). It was clean. I spent $140 (before tax) on a two room w kitchenette. One room had no windows and no air. I was given a fan for circulation. The other room had a (very) old wall unit I had to leave on all night. The "porch" to the unit is creepy. Someone enclosed it a while ago so it's very dark at night (especially when the lights are out -- thanks!). The WiFi doesn't reach the far units. The owner was nice, but you can't have units with no air and no windows. read more

5 stars for Cheryl's service. Wrecked my motorcycle up the mountain and had to stay a few days in town. Cheryl treated me like family and was great company. I didn't have food and nothing was open the first night so she gave me some of her own burritos and shakes to get me thru the night and next morning. She even checked on me the next day to make sure I was ok and offered to grill me burgers for dinner. You won't get this level of attention and care from any 5 star hotel. Cheryl will make sure you feel at home and she deserves your business. Don't pass this place up! read more

I absolutely loved staying here!!! I stayed a few weeks ago on my way to Redway and the motel owners and staff were so friendly it felt like having new friends away from home. The managers are very easy to talk to and would say hello every morning which really makes you feel at home. The prices are very reasonable, they are dog friendly(which is amazing), nice area outside if you are a smoker, good location within walking distance of places to eat and grab snacks. I've stayed at a lot of places and even expensive hotels were not as memorable as this motel. Thank you so much for having us there and treating us so kindly!!! This motel is disgusting. Horrible moldy smell that they try to cover up with flowery cleaning products. Worn out threadbare bedding, the carpet was stained and had huge burn marks. No toilet paper holder, the toilet paper was just sitting on the back of the toilet, one roll had already clearly been used. The AC sounded like a helecopter hovering overhead and did not cool the room down even slightly. We initially booked 2 nights and tried to speak to the manager to check out at 8am after the first night, no one was in the office. While waiting for someone to show up, I watched a man with no shirt or shoes, wearing swimming trunks change the garbage bins out. Had to call 2 different numbers before I could get anyone on the phone. The owner lives on property and refused to come down, she said she cleans the rooms herself, which means she knows just how nasty and run down the place is, and still refused to refund our second night, and she hung up on me. Incredibly unprofessional. Do not book here, it is a health hazard and a waste of money. And to top it off, they don't even have a bigfoot theme, and the statues and stuff in the pictures are no longer on the property. They obviously have people they know leave fake good reviews on here. read more

After dealing with the man who runs this place, all I have to say is - meth is a hell of a drug. He is incredibly rude, and once he has your ear (or your credit card) he regales you with long, uncomfortable, slightly sociopathic stories which are a bit too grandiose to not be lies. This is one of those tourist trap places that gouges ($90 a night, I've paid less for 5 star hotels in Vegas) anyone driving through, considering the shoddy accommodations. (Dirty, foul smelling, tattered/ripped items, random phone calls, knocks on the doors, and random people loitering around your door all hours of the night.) There are several signs regarding all the 'rules' you must follow in order to 'get your deposit back' and most of them are common practices that most people will 'conveniently' forget so they can get even more money out of you. This is an extremely shady place filled with shady people. Willow Creek seems like such a nice town that it is unfair to judge it by this experience, but unfortunately this being one of the only motels, people are left with no choice, and consequently will wish to never again return to Willow Creek. Had to make a short notice trip through Willow Creek recently and needed a place to stay overnight. Stumbled upon The Bigfoot Motel, which was a deal of a price for 2 people and my dog to stay (very pet friendly, even has a friendly resident cat). The manager over the phone was friendly and accommodating, letting us know she would turn on the heater ahead of our arrival since the weather was rainy and cold. When we arrived she had done just that, the room was cozy and perfect after a long drive. The room was nice and clean and had all the amenities that one would need, cable tv, fridge, microwave, and you can't even find that at a other chain motels anymore. You are in walking distance of plenty of places to eat, get gas, or groceries. The Motel itself had a lot of character inside and out, and was like staying in a cozy cabin. Again the manager was the sweetest lady and really made the short stay a pleasure. I felt very comfortable and welcome with us and our pet there and would definitely stay there again in the future. Kind of on the fence on how to review this one - it really is a 2-star motel but the town itself merits I give it an extra star. At close to 90.00 for a double it's probably about double the cost of what it should be. Very uncomfortable beds - and the rooms are just sort of generally run-down. You do have a fridge, microwave and TV so that's all good - but, in comparing other motels that are priced at 100.00 (Red Lion, Comfort Suites, etc) it's very hard to say the Bigfoot Motel is a good deal. Nice staff, though. Oh, and although the town itself is great, there is a bit of a transient / hippie-kid population that seem to wander the small town aimlessly - a number of them would gather in the covered area of an abandoned (?) building right next to our room - no one bothered us but it was still kind of awkward sitting outside of our room in the provided outdoor chairs with a bunch of transient kids camped out a few yards away. And the little town of Willow Creek is pretty awesome - the motel is located so that you can easily walk to just about any tourist spot with ease - Bigfoot Museum and market just down the block (you'll need to drive a little ways for a Bigfoot Burger or to check out Bigfoot Books) If in town I'd stay here again - but then, there's not much of choice is there? read more

We came here in Winter and was freezing. We asked to be moved as heater wasn't working.....allegedly it just "takes a while"....but after 4 hours was still freezing. Betting it won't be fixed. Rooms are very run down. Cobwebs, dirty carpets. The reason we came is my son watches "Finding Bigfoot". Staff were friendly enough, but this place is in desperate need of refit. If you are visiting Willow Creek, I would advise staying in Eureka and driving up for day. For what it is, it is not cheap. I think there is a AAA discount. read more

My friends and I were headed home one night from Oregon when we hit some wet roads and went off the road and totaled our car. We miraculously all walked away okay but it was about 11:00 pm and we were still 2 hours away from home. Our towtruck driver dropped us off in town at the Bigfoot Motel and told us they always open for people. He said he had dropped people off at 2:00 am before and they still open for them. The sign read "Anything after 11:00 pm use the night window." My friends and I sat there from 12:00am to 2:00 am banging on the window and ringing the doorbell. No answer. Being freezing out we decided to walk to the Chevron down the street where the cashier let us sit at their tables until our ride arrived. Would recommend the Chevron 10/10 over this motel. read more
