The Food - It was good pasta and sauce. Really simple and not trying to be anything else but what it is - a fastfood take on pasta. You get a big cup of pasta topped with your choice of sauce. The Place - It was small but clean. Not a lot of seats inside so be ready to eat standing up. The Service - The lady that helped us was very accommodating, friendly, and helpful. She also spoke fairly good English. She explained how ordering works and accommodated our requests. All this considering the fact that we came in WAY past the closing time, she still served and fed us. If in Venice, Italy, I'd recommend Bigoi for a quick lunch or dinner. Found this place on Yelp and decided to stop by for a fast no-nonsense dinner. My wife ordered the duck and I got the beef. We also ordered the pesto to share. The service was wonderful, and we got our pasta in less then 5 minutes. As far as the taste goes, it's nothing special. It is a fast food pasta place. I liked the beef and the pesto tasted okay, but a bit salty. My wife on the other hand, hated the duck. I would go back here, but my wife would not. She thinks the duck meat smells funny. Now for portion size: One is good enough for a single person, but after a long day walking around we were both hungry. That being said, 1.5 was perfect especially because we had such a small lunch. Hands down some of the best pasta I have ever had. The specificity and limitations to the menu allows for the perfection and dedication to each sauce and the pasta itself. Came here on a rainy day before COVID and just found it on my Yelp saved. Bigoi was a welcome respite from the high prices for okay food that we found in the rest of Venice. What you get is a cup filled with pasta for a decent price that has plenty of flavor for your buck (err...euro) and will leave you satisfied. Plus it doesn't close super early, so win for that too. As with all of Venice, finding this place is really the biggest issue. But when you are in a town full of nothing but alleyways, that applies to every single restaurant or shop. What did we get? What should you get? It doesn't really matter. But you are in Venice, so go for the seafood if you can (really good seafood here). Friendly customer service too, which is always welcome. Compared to the other popular pasta cup place, I would say this wins out, if only for the fact that it naturally has a bit more flavor. well done, Bigoi. read more

This is a unique little place that makes fresh pastas. There are no chairs so be prepared to stand while eating your pasta in a little cup. If you didn't know already, eating while standing is also a common practice in restaurants that are cheap and fast. You are also NOT allow to bring wine/alcohol in there so drop it off before coming in. We had the cuttlefish with black Venetian ink (6.5 euros) and it was pretty delicious so I'm glad our local tour guide recommended this. Definitely had a fishy taste to it and if you're not careful, you'll get black sauce all over your shirt and face. We were told that this is a common dish in Venice so we tried it. I really liked it but my friend didn't so take that for what it is. I'm also a lot more adventurous with my food. read more

As others have mentioned it's standing room only. They also only have the pasta, no drinks are sold here nor other food. There are 8 different kinds of sauce, all served atop homemade pasta. I was feeling adventurous so I got the cuttlefish in black Venetian sauce. The bf got the duck ragu. It was prepared quickly and ready in less than 5 minutes. I was a bit skeptical when I got mine as it looked like just a big black blob, however the taste was surprisingly good. The duck ragu was good but the flavor was a bit overpowering.
