This salon doesn't live up to it's reviews and I would suggest anyone go elsewhere. The hairstylist knotted my hair and then brushed the knots she created for over an hour. Her methods showed a lack of experience working on humans and careless attitude toward clients. By the end of the service I wanted to burst into tears because she essentially hurt my for an extensive period of time. Although, I voiced my pain, she continued to whip my head and hair around. To top it all off, I was charged for a blow out that i didn't request nor approve. When I questioned the receptionist, he simply said it was too late. AVOID this place! I'm a tour manager for a band based out of Austin. I look forward to getting my brows waxed at Bijou every time we have a show at the Blue Light. They are always very nice, and are able to work me in whenever I am able to swing in there after we get loaded into the venue. I just give them a call while we're on the road, so they know I'm coming. They're fairly priced, and Faye always does a great job on my brows! Plus the wax they use is almost painless! I laughed at myself when I was there a couple days ago...I've become a regular customer at a salon almost 400 miles from home, and I'm not even close to being a regular at a salon at home! I had my hair cut this past Saturday and needed to fix my bangs when I got home. Also noticed I still have several split ends; when you ask to have your ends cut I'd imagine ALL the split ends gone. The cut was mediocre at best and not worth $55 or driving to Lubbock for. Figured this place would be better than what I would find in Clovis, NM but I was wrong. read more

I walked in for my appointment and everything was so timely. they greeted me, asked me what I wanted to drink, my stylist walked up to get me, we went over the haircut I wanted and she got it. I showed her a few pics for ideas and she knew what I was wanting. Before I knew it we were shampooing cutting and styling. My stylist Katie was confident, friendly, did an excellent job on my hair, and she was so easy to talk to. Some stylists are awkward to talk to or don't talk at all, Katie was very pleasant making conversation, but she didn't over do it either. I had to pay more than I am used to paying but to get exactly what I want, it is worth it. This place was buzzing with activity, very busy but no wait time. I plan to come back. read more

When I moved to Lubbock I began the search for the perfect hairdresser. I loved my stylist back home, but flying to Illinois every time I needed a hair cut was not an option. I went to five different salons before coming to Bijou. None of them resulted in bad haircuts, but none of them were so great that I came back. A friend of mine had recommended Bijou before, but the $50 price tag for a hair cut seemed out of my budget. But when I decided to grow out my pixie cut and it became kind of mullet-y, I knew I needed a good haircut. Mickey at Bijou knew exactly how to fix my hair into an angled bob that would keep it looking cute while I grew it out. Definitely worth the $50. Being a native New Yorker, I had my doubts about finding a decent place to get my hair cut and colored. I am so glad I found Bijou Salon and Yesenia! We're winding down our 3-month stay here, and I've had an excellent experience each of the 3 times I've been there. Yesenia is a doll, and for such a young person, I am so grateful for her expertise in both color and cutting. It was SO HARD to find a hair salon based off google. Thinking things like "what if I totally hate my cut" I mean getting a hair cut is a big deal when you've never gotten a haircut in town before! I am originally from California and would WAIT to visit my hometown just so I wouldn't risk getting a bad haircut. But I found out about Bijou Salon! And I called (still a bit hesitant) but I got an appointment the NEXT DAY with a hairstylist named Andi. She is honestly THEE BEST! not only was it Not awkward convos (you know especially going someplace new and the stylist trying to hard to make convos when u kno they don't even care). But she was sweet and funny! She took her time and I absolutely looooooove my new haircut and style! I was worried that I won't get a good hair stylist when I moved to NM 2 hours away out of Lubbock. I was so glad I found Lubbock and Bijou! The salon itself is really nice. I've had a haircut from Jennifer during my first time here, but she moved. I was worried I won't get the same quality of haircut, but they gave me Yesenia, and she gave me a great haircut as well. The price is not bad as well. This would be my salon until I move back to Cali. I definitely recommend this salon!!! read more

I've been here quite a few times as I moved here not long ago and was a little hesitant to try somewhere new after this was recommended to me. I have been underwhelmed and the last time I was not satisfied whatsoever. I called about this to see if I could get my color redone. I was told I may or may not be charged (?!). I've never heard of a salon who charges you again for fixing a color. Also, I've never had a bill under $160 when I've been there. And this was for 10 foils!! Also I'm there for 3+ hours. Not reasonable. Last time I also had my hair ripped from my head. Maybe I am just tender headed but it was extremely painful. I've given this place more than enough chances and I will not be going back. read more

I decided to try this place out on reference from a friend. I will not go back. I have thick hair and it took my hair dresser 15-20 minutes to wash, cut and blow dry my hair! It cost me $45 for a terrible job. That's rediculous. My hair is straight cut, uneven and looks like a friend decided to cut it with no experience. They are way over prices for the crummy job they do!!! read more

I was needing a bang trim and couldn't see my regular stylist in Dallas so I made an appointment here in a pinch. The girl I saw was nice but did a terrible job on my bangs. I walked out of there with choppy, uneven, over priced (for a trim), too short bangs. I had to wait weeks and start taking hair growth vitamins so that I could have them fixed at another salon. I don't know if she didn't have experience with bangs or what, but they looked nothing like that photo I always use as reference. My hair still hides in fear when I think about that salon. read more
