I literally thought this place was a vintage shop based on the branding I could see and the TIKI STATUE in the main window display. The location itself was neat and clean, and totally packed. I was impressed with all of the inventory they had. That said, I didn't know what some of it was and I couldn't tell what a lot of it cost. Clarity of labeling is important to keep things from feeling like clutter and to allow customers to help themselves. Also, I just didn't really feel the love which tells me that at this location customers do have to help themselves. I came by to see what the place was all about and what kind of services were offered but didn't really find that out. Did speak with someone who appeared to be working and it looked like there was a huge shop area in the back but I didn't really get a sense for what was going on, what was available, who would be helping me/my new baby girl (haven't named her, yet), etc. I'll definitely check them out again if/when I've got something specific going on, but this visit felt pretty average. If you're going to help me with my wheels, I want to feel like you love her, too. Even if she's been around the block a time or two!

We stumbled upon a referral on Next Door for a mobile bike mechanic/service, and have to admit- Andrew is the reason we now have a beach cruiser and VERY happy 2-yr old who can ride with us! He was very informative with our bike selection, was prompt in picking up the new bike & kids seat, and very attentive with getting everything assembled for us to enjoy it ASAP. This review is for the service as I have not purchased a bike from bicycle sport yet…read more So I was out on the trails at airline bike park trying to get a couple of late afternoon runs in before the rain hits this weekend and I popped a flat. With the bike sitting all winter, my sealant had completely dried out, and so I was forced to retreat, back to the house. However, on my way back home, I remembered that my neighborhood bike shop is sometimes open around this time so I decided to test my luck and see if I could stop by for a quick repair. When I pulled up to the store, the parking lot was packed, so I assumed the store was open, but when I walked in with my bike, I realized that they were having a reception for an upcoming, charity bike event, and the store was actually closed. However, there was one gentleman still behind the service counter, working on a bike. So after I explained to him that I simply needed a tire repaired, he decided to help me out. What started as a quick repair on my front tubeless tire ended up being a full refill of sealant in both my front and back tire. He also checked out my gears and brakes and recommended that I bring the bike back in to have the chain and cassette serviced. While I was standing at the counter, waiting for my tires to be completed, another one of the store owners, walked over and invited me into the bike reception and encouraged me to grab a couple of pieces of pizza. I thought this was pretty dope because the bike reception was mostly roadies, and I'm a mountain biker. Typically, the two crowds don't mix, but I appreciate the hospitality. This is my second or third time getting service work done at the store and each time has been a great experience. I would definitely recommend them if you're looking for service with a personal touch!

I called ahead first to make sure they service all kinds of bikes and they explained their first come policy. Parker helped me out by giving my bike a once over before settling in. Recommended a new chain, but not pressured to replace it at all. Just provided the options. After getting my information, they gave me an estimate of when to pick up the bike... I think it was 3 days and they called on the 3rd day to tell me the bike was ready. Came to pick it up and paid without any issues. Just need to start putting some miles on the bike now (no excuses for me). All of the staff are super nice an knowledgeable. I would come back here in a heart-beat. My only ding would be the parking lot... I have a roof rack and some of the spots in front of the store "dip"... Probably a short-person problem, but I did have some issues off loading my bike since I was a little shorter standing in the dip, but totally understand it is probably for drainage. The traffic on Selwyn is a little crazy, but there are multiple entrances, just watch out for the other cars parking for the neighboring businesses. It looks like you can easily park on the street on Brandywine so that you don't have to deal with the spots... I'll keep this in mind later if I come for a group ride or future visits.

The Charlotte Recyclery is really not a safe environment for small children being left alone…read morewithout their guardians present. Bicycles are donated by total stranger's and sometimes we don't know the hidden illegal substances that are left behind. Bicycles they sell staff doesn't check them thoroughly. Hidden drugs are a concern in my mind because I was doing a tear down on my bicycle and I found white powder illegal drugs inside of the handlebars when I was changing my my handlebar grips. The restroom is usually dirty. The sink they constantly wash bicycle grease down it. Customers never know what kind of chemicals are left on the bicycles that are donated those chemicals can be dangerous to touch. Bicycles here can usually be stolen we never know where the bicycles come from. People's personal information such as their names are on a sign up sheet up front for anyone to access. They really don't use a filing cabinet for your names and addresses. The employees are shady around young children and I just don't care to be a part of the environment any longer.

We took it in they said it would be maybe a week. The next day that had it all back together, new kickstand and mirror installed everything back in order and I was back in business.
