IF YOU OWN A SCOOTER, DO NOT COME HERE!! DO NOT! DO NOT! DO NOT! DO NOT! DO NOT! I really wanted to make this shop my go to for my scooter repair. Everything started out great. Customer service was awesome. The guy who answered my phone call asking if they repaired scooters was so kind and nice. Told me they would work on it, just bring it over. I dropped it off and the guy was still nice. Still so very helpful. I told him I just needed my right brake checked out and my rear tail lights reconnected, which was an easy fix bc I've done it before. Just didn't have the right tools to finish it completely. He took my information, I gave him the keys and away I went. A few days went by still no call. I called them 2 days later to see the status of my scooter and was told "you're the next one!" Ok. No word back. A few days later I call, "oh ya, your still the next one." Over a wk later my scooter was still in the same spot on the lot. I called and again, "you're the next one." Over a wk later and I'm still the "next one"? I told this guy this was going to be my main transportation and I'll need it ASAP. After calling several times, finally the call the last minute on the last day I was giving them to tell me it was ready. I arrived and instantly he wanted me to pay for the job. Not even going over exactly what they did for me before having me pay so I can see what kind of job they did. I being the stupid one, I paid trusting that since it took them so long to fix it, it would actually bc done right. I ask him to show me what they did, he briefly went over it. I said ok kewl. As I drove away i noticed that the brake was not bled properly. The handle pretty much has to be "pumped" in order for it to stop. That means they didn't get all the air out of the line or didn't bleed the brakes properly from the cylinder down by the caliper on the wheel. I also smelled gas, stopped, pulled over and noticed that someone had dropped my scooter on the left side. The gas smell was mostly likely from it leaking when it was on the ground. There were also damages done to the left side by the kickstand. Then as I started driving I noticed a burning plastic smell. The duct tape that showed the guy prior to the repair that I wanted done properly that the previous owners had used to hold up the wires near the connectors had been tucked up and wasn't fixed at all. It had dropped down on my exhaust while I was riding it. I then take my scooter back pointing out the work I paid for was not actually complete at all. The guy, who I'm assuming is either the manager or the owner then tells me, "this is why we don't work on scooters, because scooter people are not all there!" EXCUSE ME? WHAT DID YOU JUST SAY TO ME? You mean to tell me I'm "not all there" bc you didn't complete the job properly that I paid you $250 for? I paid you $250 for you to do a shitty half ass job and to bleed my brakes of which weren't done right and took you over a week to complete. The guy tells me "lady you're rude" RUDE? B*TCH! You just did a crappy job and expect ppl to just let it be. I showed him the duct tape that was next to the connectors and he said, "that's not the job you wanted us to fix." EXCUSE ME? That whole wiring system is the lighting system. You do this for a living, you should know this. You mean to tell me you don't have integrity enough for your business to do sh*t right? You're going to just leave half of the wiring like Sh*t? NO! YOU WONT! $250 for labor is what I paid for for literally 30 mins worth of work tops. I took it here bc I have 3 jobs and don't have the time or the place to work on my scooter myself. I don't give a F whether it's Chinese or not. ALL THE PARTS ARE MADE IN CHINA! That's no excuse!! Don't work on scooters if you're going to over charge and do sh*t half ass. Before going here, do yourself a favor DONT! Go somewhere else. If you want to get your bike treated just like you treat your kids, this is the right place guys.. When i went to get my bike, it was shining like new, without me even asking them to clean it. Israel and Adrian did a great job on my CB1100 and gave me a good deal which would have been a bomb if i took the bike to any other place. The customer service was great and he made my bill even and gave me a discount after the final quote. Now there's no need to search for a better place to get my bike serviced. A hole busted open on my manifold on my Aprilia Scooter. Honestly it's an easy fix if you have the tools. It took these guys forever to get it done. Finally when I go to get it. The secretary of whatever he does there dcomes out and tells me I have to remove my kick stand because that's the problem. If you know anything about bikes you know that's some of the dumbest shit I have ever heard. Especially that he tells me I have to fix it. WHAT? So I pay them 300 bucks and after installing my Seat back on myself in the parking lot I cruise home. I'm happy with the exhaust the bike sounds great. Next day I'm riding it and hear all this clanking and banging. They didn't reattach the exhaust pipe back to the frame. So I go down there again and ask for help. Luckily one of there mechanics was a nice enough guy and came over and helped me brace it on and the bike was cool again. These two dudes are ridiculous they have me in there shop grabbing tools and fixing there fuck ups and lazy work. Fast forward a couple weeks I sell the bike, the dude who bought it calls me up and said the pipe blew out. So I call the shop again pissed off and they blame me because the kick stand wasn't removed. Well what the fuck fellas. Aren't they the mechanics if thats the problem. Fix it. I'm the type of dude that when something breaks on my car or bike I bring it where it has to go and expect it be fixed and I'm expected to pay. It's like going to the doctor with a broken arm. And he says " yea your arms broken you should make a cast for it " So finally they agree to do the labor for it but won't cover the part so I have to go on EBay and order a manifold. I bring the manifold down they put it on. Everything is hunky Dory for about 3 days. Well guess what happened. The god damn manifold Blew off the engine. I'm not even calling down there this time. These two dudes are the worst mechanic/shop owners I have ever dealt with. I'm a damn good customer too, I come from a small town and respect what it's like to give business to small shops But this is crazy. I absolutely would never recommend this shop to anyone. This place sucks. I had to hound them to get updates on my bike repair status. When its completion was going to be late they didn't tell me until I finally got a hold of them. They stored my bike in the RAIN!!!! Once I finally got the bike back it had the same problems as when I took it in, Oil leaking and bike breaking down due to alternator not recharging the battery. Wasn't going to write a review but saw that this business (owner / manager) is still extorting bikers, I brought my bike in about a year ago he said he would fix the rectifier but he basically had his assistant put electrical tape around the external wiring and charged me 300.00 dollars, the wires basically melted while I was riding on the freeway (dangerously breaking down on the freeway) leaving me to get towed back from San Clemente to Long Beach, when I went back for my refund I explained to him what happened and demanded a refund back, he knew they were responsible because he offered my full refund back, for some reason I felt sorry for the assistant who seemed nice it's just that he didn't really know about how to fix this issue not his fault, so I only took back half of my 300.00, but I see the reviews and it appears he's still scamming people for even more and getting away with it, and probably didn't even pay the guy who worked on my bike when they scammed me, the manager / owner didn't appear to be remorseful or apologetic what so ever, except for the partial refund, DO NOT GO TO THIS REPAIR SHOP, if you value your safety, others safety around you on the road and your bike, it could be a fatal decision. There have been many complaints about this business it's odd that Long Beach law enforcement has not cited this establishment for criminal fraud... read more

When I had moved to Long Beach, I started having a problem with my bike. I took it to Long Beach Motorsports...and I would recommend to anyone in the area to not do that. Check out M & C Motorcycle Repair FIRST and save yourself a lot of time. I took my bike in a total of four times to LBMS. The first three times they said they had fixed the problem. And all three times, they had not. My bike would sputter and lose power after a seemingly random amount of time or miles. They kept telling me it was vapor lock due to over topping the tank. This explanation sounded more than a little ridiculous to me considering it happened regardless of how much gas was in the tank. They just kept changing the spark plugs and giving the bike back to me. I should also mention that I would leave the bike there for 2-3 weeks and would only find out the status of the 'repairs' if I called them. I got the impression that they were understaffed for the number of bikes they had queued up for service. The forth time I took it in, I stressed that the problem only occurred after riding it for a while. They tried taking it out for a few minutes on two occasions and did not see the problem, so did not run any tests on the bike. I picked up my bike with the intention of taking it straight back as soon as the issue reappeared. When I picked it up the tank and seat were loose and not bolted down correctly. Not tightening bolts on a serviced bike seems to be a common and dangerous practice for many motorcycle mechanics in my experience. They said they never removed the seat or tank. But I am very sure I don't make a habit of riding with a tank rattling around and a seat about to fall off, so I know it wasn't dropped off that way. This time the my bike died again on the highway and I had to get towed home. I was not about to take it in to LBMS again after a year's worth of services that did not fix my bike's problem. I checked Yelp reviews and found M & C Motorcycle Repair. They came and picked up my bike and found the problem within one hour after starting their diagnosis. They found in one hour what LBMS could not find (or maybe did not really try to find) in four separate visits with my bike in their shop for a total of 2 months. To be totally fair, I have done a fair amount of customization to my bike. So perhaps LBMS is good with servicing stock bikes. Personally, I have found my local mechanic that I trust at M & C Motorcycle Repair....and most of us know that is hard to find. read more

Idle was keyed extremely high to mask unresolved low idle issue. So couple weeks ago I was about to go on a ride to San Diego from long beach. As soon as I get on the highway my bike started to bog out... It was so bad we pulled off the highway and my Buddies went on to San Diego since my bike wasn't working right.. I tried to seafoam it and run the gas out but the bike was getting even more boggy. So I broke down by 7th and pch.. Called these guys up and they sent James (real cool guy) to load the bike on the truck and take it to the shop. Once the bike got to the shop they were quick to diagnose it... All in all the bike only took 2 business days to get repaired.. I had oil getting into my air filter which was choking out the bike. They fixed the whole bike and even polished up the chrome. Now it looks and runs better than before. Great service at a great price. And the guy Q knows his stuff! The only reason I didn't give them a 5-star rating is because the problem my motorcycle has still persists after visiting... I also took it there with a physical list of possible issues for my type of bike (Yamaha Virago, lots of hiccups) and even new parts to replace each and every old one that could have been giving me these problems. Here's the thing- the mechanic I had didn't want to chance replacing the "working" parts with my aftermarket ones, in case they were cheaply made and unreliable. Okay... I can see where he was coming from but I paid a fair amount of money for the new ones and would have rather chanced the new ones instead of relying on the old crusty ones that were still installed and still having a bike that doesn't run. Its still unfixed and I have had to forego riding for the entire summer, but the staff there was so courteous and patient that I would suggest going still and I will even be going a second time to see if they could help me again. Brought my dad's 2006 Harley Dyna in for some major tank damage and other misc. items. Here's my review of some of the major points: Customer Service: Israel (shop mgr.) was always a pleasure to talk to. He's a cool dude and I trust the man. But it seems like some things fall off his plate from time to time as his shop is very busy. Israel always took the time though to explain what was going on with the bike and what it would need. He was honest with his observation and never pushed for anything I didn't need or want. Time: Bike took longer than expected to repair - 2mo. + some days vs. approx. 1 1/2 mo. quoted. It wasn't a big deal for me because I did not need bike back right away. But if I did need my bike back right away, then I know our conversations would have gone differently. I would just ask for a REALISTIC timeframe as a customer and hold the shop to their word as much as possible. This is really the only reason I'm leaving 4 stars and not 5. Price: Is very competitive. I felt that my money was well spent here. Israel did remove a couple of hours of labor for the inconvenience of my bike's repair time. He did this without my asking, so thank you for that. Repair: Is 100% complete and bike is running fine. They returned it washed and ready to go. I would go back to LB Motorcycle Repair because the customer service is important to them, the price is right, and the result is a fully functioning motorcycle. I was a bit upset at the time it took, but that's why we talk/communicate to each other instead of leaving nasty reviews. I communicated my concern to Israel and it all turned out well. This review is for Tire replacement only. I purchased a new set of tires online for my 2006 1700 Yamaha Roadstar Midnight Silverado and NOBODY in the Southbay would replace the tires if purchased elsewhere unless I remove the wheels myself. I was not about to go through the hassle. I did a search online, found M&C and spoke with the Manager Kevin. He said they had no issue with my request and said to come on down. I arrived within a couple of hours and my bike was inside the shop within minutes. The job was quoted to take 90 minutes and I was not disappointed. The mechanic onsite was knowlegable and I was at ease. Kevin assured me that the next time I needed tires to give him a chance to earn my complete business. God forbid that I need an MC mechanic but if I do I will definitely give Kevin and M&C Motorcycle my business. read more

Update: After initially writing my first review for this business the owner gave me a call back later hat day to aplogize and find out what exactly was wrong that I left them a bad review. We talked through the issues that I had with the shop and he offered for me to come in and he price matched quotes that I had from other shops. I am glad that the owner called me, this shows me that he does care about his shop and what customers have to say about it and takes their concerns/opinions to heart. I was referred to this shop from a co-worker. The service here is amazing and they know their way around a bike. My 2006 GSXR 1000 had a recent short and some other repairs that took a week overall, they could of taken me for a lot of money like another shop probably would of, but I am happy because they were honest and personable and saved me a lot of money. I also feel they do the absolute best they can with your bike. You can tell when someone is just out for money versus what they enjoy doing.. this business makes money doing what they love. I WOULD RECOMMEND HERE TO ANYONE! Only reason I didn't give a 5 STAR is because they are busy busy and fail to call back even though they say they will. They picked up my bike and towed it to the shop at no cost. Then, gave me an estimate and a time frame of when I should expect it to be repaired. I had my bike back in less than a week! I have a 2000 Suzuki VZ800 that I bought off of Craigslist in horrible condition, These guys have really helped me get it into running shape I have brought my bike to them a total of 3 times and Its actually at their shop right now awaiting a final carb tune so I can finally break it out for a long distance ride! So far the service has been great! Kevin is awesome and so are all the mechanics, Kevin does a great job on updates of the repairs, and the mechanics also make a point to fully see the bike they work on out until it reaches your hands! They also give you pointers on how to run the bike on the new repairs and tell you what your bike may need in the future. Overall I cannot expect anymore from these guys so thank you! Not so sure about everyone else's experiences I see allot of complaints but this is why you should check your bike thoroughly before you head out of the shop just like a car mechanic shop and let them know what is wrong! Also not to diss on any riders but some of you are bringing total pieces of rusty shit/or f***ing scooters to this shop and are expecting miracles! Be realistic on your ride and what to expect out of it, it your bike is being held together by duck-tape im sure the mechanic can only do so much for you..... read more

Came back 6 days later for a tire change and there were more broken parts on the bike then when i droped it off... of course they took no responsibility... they even tried to ac silver tape my turn signal (that they broke including the side panels that fell off) and not tell me...lol then they said its Chinese and they fall apart all the time and I should Use ZIP TIES TO HOLD IT TOGETHER! Back in June 2018 I took my 2008 Vstar 1100 in to get ready for a cross country ride. My bike was In Need of some love (oil leaks, valve adj, etc...). Gotta say she ran great and continues to do so. Not only during ride but even now as use her for my daily commute (500 miles a week). The cost of repairs were so much lower than what I was expecting and the service was exceptional. I took my 2014 suzuki boulevard s40 to have the breaks checked because the front brakes were squeaking. Israel examined my brakes and told me I don't need them replaced. He said most likely the noise is coming from build up, but I still have 40% life on my brake pads. He cleaned out my brakes and tightened up my rear brake, and the brakes felt great on my ride home! Israel (manager) not only answered all of my questions but even took the time to adjust my aftermarket blinkers which were blinking at a much faster rate than OEM. The good: These guys are accomodating and friendly. There is no pretension, they work fairly fast, the storage situation is reasonable. The bad: I've been here 3 times with 3 different bikes, 2 of the 3 good, but my last trip there wasn't so sweet. I believe someone dropped my bike, there were scratches, and my kickstand wasn't functioning normal. To make matters worst my starter button literally disconnected after only around 8-miles. I didn't bother to contact them because they would've denied of course. I just got some tools and managed to fix it. read more

My 1982 yamaha JS 650 Maxim had a problem shifting out of 1st gear. Was going home from work. My bike would not shift gears turned it off. Then I couldn't even get in to neutral to start her back up. Called my road service to to it to Long beach motor sports where I had work on it done about 2 yrs ago. Got there. They said they no longer work on bikes older than made in 2000. One guy suggested LB motocycle REPAIR and the tow guy was cool and new about this place too. So we towed it to here Got there and was like wow all kinds of old school motorbikes there lined up like a museum. A few cool trikes too. Was pretty cool being there just too look. All the mechanics seemed pretty busy though. Dropped off my bike, Israel said they would check it out. Read other reviews saying how they are too busy to call you. And let you know anything. But I was waiting until payday anyhow so I could pay for any services. Stopped by a week later or so to check on things. Israel told me there was nothing wrong with my bike. They simply removed the gear shifter and cleaned it out basically. And the didn't even charge me a dime. Talk about friendly service. Helping out a rider in distress. I am thankful I did find this shop. I plan on bringing my bike here regularly now that I know about it. Was planning on buying a new bike (from long beach Motorsport ) but screw them. Gonna keep my good old yamaha for a while more now that I know I can take it somewhere that has good old fashion service. And isn't scared to work on older bikes! Thanks guys at LB motorcycle repair.
