Great coffee, dole whip and ice cream! They had pumpkin spice in July! And their ice cubes are made of coffee!

    Cappuccino

The place was walking distance, about 7 minutes away. Pretty walk for 9am. Lots of people out walking and grabbing coffee. The cappuccino was average, oatmilk, no art on top, pretty expensive for what it was. Nothing special. The place was cute, fun mugs to purchase and extraordinary coffee beans. Very pricey beans so they must be good. The server was kind and good at her job. The smoothie was way better than the coffee.

This is a cute little cafe and gift shop on Ali'i Drive in Kailua Town. They have indoor and outdoor seating too. Inside they have lots of locally made gifts, including many with the cafe logo. Prices are reasonable. The barista was super friendly. This is an alternative dairy cafe, no actual milk products are used including in the cheeses. A favorite highlight was the use of coffee ice cubs in the ice coffee; delicious and refreshing!

Super cute coffee and gift shop. I tried their iced matcha latte with oat milk. Matcha was a little muddy and I mostly tasted the oat milk. The color was a little too light green in my opinion. Maybe skip the matcha and try their coffee or ice cream! The person who took my order was super nice too!

Tried their acai bowl. Asked for recommendation from the person at the counter. Got the Tropical Thunder which she recommended. It had granola and mixed tropical fruits. While it had pineapple which is definitely tropical, it also had raspberries, blueberries, and blackberries. It was alright. I did not think it was special. They serve coffee, frozen drinks, ice cream, and pastries. They have some outdoor seating as well. Service was alright.

I ordered an iced latte with 1 pump Mac nut and 1 pump vanilla! Omgosh! Amazing!!!!! I just love Kona coffee so much! Such a cutie little shop with a tiki hut vibe. The barista was nice! At first I couldn't decide on what to get and he was patient with me. So kind! There's inside and outside seating. I prefer sipping my coffee outside because of the breeze and view!

My son recommended this shop from a previous visit and so glad we stopped in. Right on Ali'i drive in a great location surrounded by shops and other restaurants, Bikini Bottoms offers some great food to start your day. Great breakfast sandwiches, açaí bowls and lattes. Staff were super friendly which really did seem to be a consistent vibe in Kona.

Cute spot in downtown Kona. I had the passionfruit ice-cream sooo delicious. I didn't like that the owner doesn't allow tastings, but otherwise i would recommend if you're craving ice-cream on the big island.

mauna kea and lava acai bowl

this place needs more reviews!! best açaí me and my best friend had on our vacation. vibes were great and the staff were very friendly. the lava açaí bowl and mauna kea açai bowl were amazing and we had to come back again to end our trip! definitely a cute stop for breakfast and it was busier than we thought in the morning!

The chocolate Acai bowl with raspberries, bananas, granola etc.

I decided to try an Acai bowl. There were two to choose from and she recommended the one with chocolate. It was very good. I sat on their patio and did some people watching. The service was good and nice place to relax eating indoors and outside. It's a casual coffee shop with different items to eat.

    Lava Açaí Bowl

Walked around Ali'i drive and came across this place. The inside and outside of the shop was super cute and there was seating. Ordered the Lava acai bowl and was very disappointed. For $18 it was not worth it, and the acai base and sesame butter was just alright. I feel there's way better acai bowls for cheaper too. Staff was friendly but probably wouldn't come back for an açaí bowl.

Got a decaf mocha and was delicious. Aldo had the bagel w avocado and that hit the spot

I had the mocha and bagel with avocado. Both were yummy and hit the spot. The mocha wasn't overly sweet.

Best coffee I've found on the island. Strong, chocolaty - it's what I expect when I think of Kona coffee, but can still be hard to find.

Their customer service reply really made up for the previous experience with their staff and they ensured me they would address the issue with their team. :) Old review: I visited the Gypsea Gelato in Kona today and was extremely disappointed with the service. I ordered a single scoop child's cone and was told "We only have our Ube waffle cones, we are out of the rest... but don't worry they don't really taste like ube". I said ok, that should be fine since my daughter wants a cone. When I get to the register, after they had already filled her cone, I was told the price was $8.50 for the child's size ice cream and charged an additional $3 for their "specialty cone". Prior to choosing the cone, I was not told anything about it costing $3 additional dollars. Nor that a kids size scoop for that cone would be $8.50 when it should usually be $4.99. So I paid $11.50 for a child's ice cream. When I brought my concern up to the 3 teenagers working there, they all made me feel as though I was in the wrong for not knowing my child's cone would be $11.50. One of the staff checked to see if there was a price on the front of the sample cone thinking she could rub that in my face but there was no price shared. So, I had literally no way of knowing how much I would end up paying until it was too late and no apology or kindness was shown whatsoever. Another staff member said "we aren't in charge of what they give us"... and to that I say, that doesn't absolve you from sharing the price of this speciality option -which again, was the only cone option offered. Had I known I would be paying $11.50 for a child's cone, we would have happily ordered the $4.99 cup. I'd appreciate if the manager would get in touch with me -not so much for the outrageous cost but more for the fact that their staff provided such poor service in not sharing the price, and not trying to kindly resolve the issue.

They claim the fruit is fresh and local but who knows how fresh it really is since it's frozen. The finished product is soft ice cream with icy chips of fruit throughout. I wasn't a fan. I based on the good reviews, I was really excited but this was a big miss in my opinion. I tried both the guava and the passion fruit and I preferred the passionfruit as it was less icy. Also at the bottom of the cup there's fruit flavor from the previous person as they use the same mixer over again so there are remnants from the previous customer's fruit in yours. The man working was super friendly so that's why this gets two stars instead of one star but this was a disappointment.

We arrived to…read moreHawai'i over the weekend, and I've been waiting to try this place since I laid my eyes on it. I see it everyday outside my window, haha! What a roller coaster of emotions. I guess I should have researched more thoroughly, but I wasn't sure if this place just had a small selection of vegan ice cream flavors available for the dairy-free crowd or if there was more to it. Don't get me wrong, I appreciate the companies that make an effort (big or small) to accommodate for people with special dietary restrictions, but sometimes I also want more than the usual fruit sorbets or vegan chocolate flavor I usually come across. I would have been low-key disappointed if the only vegan-friendly flavor they had was coconut. So I have to say that when my partner and I decided to give this place a try after all, it had surpassed my expectations! They have two ice cream bases you can choose from - sweet cream (dairy) and coconut gelato (vegan). And they have three different sizes you can choose from. We went with Scoopah Doopa since my partner and I shared. Then you can choose 1-2 fruits which ends up being your flavor. I thought the fruits were going to be toppings, but they actually mix it all in together with the base so that you get a delicious, fruity, creamy ice cream! Flavor wise, we went with Soursop and Jaboticaba. Pretty new flavors to me, but they mixed deliciously well. The ice cream didn't come out to sweet and I'm contemplating on giving some of the other flavors a try while I'm here. What a treat! Service was really friendly as well. I highly recommend you give this place a try!
