Big difference between their beans and the dry discount Kona beans sold at the farmers market. They are a little hard to find off the gps just look for the Aloha Adventure Farms sign and go past Aloha Adventure and follow the signs to Coffee Tour. We toured one of its neighbor coffee farms only a few days before we went here so we didn't need to tour another farms. If you end up being in the same situation then go here just to sip some delicious coffee and tea samples and pick up some gifts/souvenirs but most of all, walk around the property to enjoy its stunning environment or just sit in one of the lawn chairs to read a book or quietly meditate. That's exactly what we did. The workers we interacted with were there to give you hospitality. They never force you to buy anything. We hadn't had coffee just yet as we went here mid to late morning so after sampling some coffees and teas we were going to buy some cups of coffee to truly drink a full cup but they didn't even let us; they gave us free of everything (from some complimentary cookies to nuts to munch. What a generous gesture that was!!) After that, we sat in the lawn chairs and spent at least an hour in the spacious yard that overlooks the ocean for some journaling and meditation. With the view and the nature that surrounded us, we were truly healed from inside out. We got to meet and pet all sorts of farm animals. While walking around, one of the female workers (who greeted us upon arrival) came and educate us on all kinds of tropical plants, trees and flowers. She was so personable to us where she truly wanted to get to know us. The hospitality is top-notch at this place. On top of the farm tour, tea ceremonies and coffee tastings they do, they also offer yoga (I think that's what she said), and (possibly) massages. This place is so much more than a typical coffee/tea farm. But most of all, its stunning 80-acre property is in itself a place for people to rejuvenate/recharge/meditate so they'll be refreshed in mind and spirit as they walk away from it. This is like everyone's dream place to work and live. You got to put this place on your "must visit" list while you are in Kona.

Long Review: Hans and Marsha Eckert are the owners and operators of Lyman Kona Coffee. After Googling "Kona Coffee Tours" we came upon this place - and Hans opened his home and business to our tour of 5 people on an early Sunday morning. We sat out back behind the Bed & Breakfast under a covered trellis with a 180-degree view of the ocean while Hans sat us down and proceeded to give us a 45-minute lecture on his background, the coffee business and his farm. Well no wonder we felt like we were in school...turns out he's an ex-college professor with a PhD and two Master's degrees! After getting sick of not making the money he wanted as a professor, he and his wife decided to move to Hawaii and set up shop. The details of the story are absolutely fascinating, and especially Marsh's connection to the land as a 5th generation immigrant to Hawaii. After his talk, we walked over to where the he mills the coffee and he explained the whole process. Afterwards, we got to taste their coffee. Its absolutely fantastic! We purchased a half pound of it, and were on our way. Absolutely great time, especially because we got such a rich history lesson not just about coffee, but about the world and Hawaii and commerce. Highly recommend the tour. Just a note, the farm is for sale as of this writing (June 2019) so if you're looking to become a coffee grower and producer, you should call Hans. I purchased…read moregreen coffee beans from Lyman Farms for years after searching high and low for a real farm that sold real beans, actually grown in the region. It is so hard to find reputable sources of roasted and green coffee when the name commands a premium, so I was very happy to find this farm. I was very sorry to hear the farm was sold, and sad when I roasted my final batch. I sincerely hope whoever the new owners are take care of the farm, and hopefully start selling beans again soon.
