I've been to this dealerships service dept numerous times over past few years , I have never not once had a bad experience. They have always been polite friendly professionals. In a past life I worked for dealerships service dept and know all too well how most are forced to be ran , which would be pushy aggressively pushing various high dollar services that the customer truly is seldom ready to afford . Looks like their star rating is well earned! Predatory and incompetent best describes Bill Estes Jeep STEALERSHIP in Brownsburg, Indiana. As the owner of 10+ Jeeps, I have never experienced anything close to this level of dysfunction from a dealership. When I scheduled my appointment, I clearly disclosed that the Jeep had a brand-new Mopar direct-replacement engine with fewer than 150 miles. After the first 100 miles, I experienced misfire codes and suspected a possible electrical issue. Despite this, the dealership asked me to approve $3,600 for camshaft replacement and $670 for an auxiliary battery--a battery that had been replaced less than two weeks earlier and driven fewer than 15 miles. After I questioned the estimate, they backtracked completely and admitted that the $4,300 worth of proposed work was unnecessary. Had I not challenged it, I would have been charged for repairs the vehicle did not need. Next, I was told the Jeep needed catalytic converters. I again had to explain that one converter is brand new, installed with the new engine. It is concerning that a dealership could miss both a new engine and a new catalytic converter during diagnosis. Today, I received a revised estimate of $643 for one catalytic converter and O sensors, which I electronically approved. Hours later, they came back with a new price of $2,460 for the exact same scope of work--no explanation, no additional findings, just a massive increase. This experience raises a serious question: how often are customers scammed by Estes? I would strongly caution anyone considering service here to question every recommendation, request written justification, and seek a second opinion before approving anything. This is the worst dealership I have ever dealt with. I came in to get my 4x4 serviced only to be told they couldn't duplicate the issue and they relearned my transmission! I drive it off the lot and not even 5 minutes later the light is back on. The charged me for the so called diagnostic and I can't even get anyone to call me. They claim they have left me messages which is a lie!! DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR HERE!! Oh, and let me not forget the very unprofessional comment that was made by the guy that was check me out. My husband scheduled an appointment for his Ram pickup truck for an oil change, wiper blade replacement and 3 vehicle recall notices. We always take our vehicles to Andy Mohr for servicing but they do not own a dealership in Avon so we thought we'd try Bill Estes in Brownsburg. We made a 9:30 appointment on a Thursday hoping they wouldn't be as busy as the weekend. We dropped the truck off and they said give them a couple hours. The service guy was friendly and polite. Around noon we received the expected call to pick up the vehicle. Instead we were informed the brake fluid needed to be replaced so we approved the additional work. We assumed this would go fairly quickly but we weren't given a new time frame. We knew they were working on the truck at noon so we assumed things were progressing well. We waited throughout the day still with no idea of when we could pick up our truck. Finally, knowing they closed at 6:00, my husband attempted to call the service department at 5:00. It took 3 attempts before he reached a person. They informed him the service would be completed right at closing time at 6:00 p.m. At least it was going to be done the same day instead of being told it was being held over to the next day. We arrived at 5:50 and they were just finishing up. We paid and were on our way. All went well but we still missed the communication, the timeliness and personable service we receive from Andy Moore. The service was completed in one day, the guys were friendly enough, no parts had to be ordered and we will be back for additional service as needed. read more

Had my car towed to them because while at a stop light my car would no longer move in while in drive, put it in neutral then back to drive and it went in reverse and the service transmission came up on the dash display. The service depart called later that day saying they couldn't find anything wrong, now 3 weeks later yes car as been there for 3 weeks they believe its just the tires. The ignorance is epic... absolutely replacing the tires will explain the service transmission and the car going in reverse while in drive. Left several voice mails requesting a status on my vehicle to which none were returned. Finally showed up at the dealership to ask why its been 3 weeks and my car is just sitting in the lot to be told well the tires just arrived and they will call once the new tires are on. read more

First and last time giving this dealership a chance to service my cars. I have four dodge automobiles and have been looking for a consistent place to take them to. I set an appointment on a Tuesday morning and dropped off the Jeep. Didn't get a status update that day which didn't bother me. Called the next day for a timeframe and left a message with no returned call. Called again in the afternoon and was told they hadn't even looked at it yet and offered no additional explanation other than they were short staffed and had techs going to training. This I completely understand. No issues. It's happening everywhere. However, when I asked when they would look at it she said 'probably next week'. Unacceptable. This wasn't made remotely clear when I dropped off the car. So they planned on having it a full week before even looking at it. I asked if I could pick it up (it's my daily driver) and drop it back off when they could actually work on it and was told I'd have to bring it back in a month. Basically, terrible communication. Offered no expectations for me with regard to timeframe and somehow assumed I'd be fine with having a specific appointment day/time just to be told they'd have my car for who knows how long. My visit started of good but got worse each day for more than a week. My check engine light was on and my vehicle was leaking transmission fluid. Since I had a Car Shield warranty I decided to take it to a Jeep dealership. I called to make an appointment without a problem, but after that, the phones to the service area were NEVER answered and would hang up after ringing more than 5 times! I decided to give Bill Estes Jeep a try because the service at Champion Jeep is horrible! After more than 3 hours of waiting I was told that they were having trouble contacting the warranty company and to go have lunch and they would give me a call. This was at 2 pm at 4 and 5 I called and no one answered and the phone hung up after 5 rings. I go back to the service department and was instructed to go home and they would get back with me the next morning. The next morning I receive a call from the warranty company about the parts; the dealership wanted to use Mopar parts and I would have to pay an additional $125 above my $100 deductible or I could go with aftermarket parts for my deductible. I chose the aftermarket parts because I'd planned to sell the vehicle in the near future! Because a rental car is included in my warranty, I was told that the vehicle should not have let the facility once the claim started. This was on a Wednesday, I was expecting a call from the service department that day...I did not receive a call. I TRIED calling Thursday and Friday morning do I decided to go to there Friday afternoon. Upon arrival, I was told that the parts were dropped off but they never received authorization for the repair. I informed her that they were probably trying to reach her but you can't get through to them. I used my phone to call thr warranty company to get the process started....by now, it's late afternoon and my car would not be repaired that day..it's Friday and my birthday is the next day so I needed a vehicle. I have a rental until Tuesday. On Monday, I receive a phone call from Whitney informing me that my vehicle is ready. I decided to pickup the next day but when I arrived, Whitney had a family emergency and wasn't in and they couldn't find the paperwork nor the keys to my vehicle! I leave with the rental and wait Wednesday, Thursday and I finally got a call from Whitney Friday to pickup my vehicle. I went in on Saturday morning to pick it up...Whitney was not there. We had a bunch of snow the next week so I didn't drive much. Two weeks later the tire rod broke...something that should have been noticeable if they did an inspection. Even after alllll of this, I was going to have my vehicle towed to Bill Estes again but noone answered the phone! read more

They have the worst customer service that I have ever experienced. 1st off I dropped my vehicle off on a Thursday for an appointment for Friday morning at 8AM. I then received a text telling me my vehicle needed approximately $6,000 worth of issues that " needed immediate attention." Not even worth a phone call to explain what was going on. I called them and someone explained the situation. I told them to fix 1 issue and the person I spoke with told me that my vehicle would be done on Wednesday. Friday came around and I called several times to find out what was going on with my vehicle. No one called back. I called Saturday and asked to speak to a manager and he called back and left a message saying my vehicle would be done by Tuesday. Well Thursday that week I am had to call times and they finally had my vehicle done. They had my vehicle for 2 weeks with 0 phone calls made to me. Next they are ridiculously overpriced!! They quoted me $687 for 4 new tires. I only needed 2. I took it to another business and got 2 tires for only $280. Now I know it could have been a better quality tire so here is another example. Bill Estes quoted me $620 to fix a ball join and alignment. The other business quotes me $340 Horrible customer service and completely overpriced!! This is about 6 months late. I only thought about it when I needed to take my 2020 challenger in for it's next scheduled maintenance service. When I went here for my 1st scheduled maintenance I was shocked by the price I paid out the door. $101 for a basic oil change and inspection. After inspecting the bill it turns out they did a tire rotation, and charged an extra $33. My last new car was a Kia Soul. Tire rotations where always included in the oil change and car inspection package. Typically $55 to $65, but my first visit was actually $35 from the one in Avon, Indiana. It just seems to me if you are going to charge for something extra, you should run it by the customer in advance. There is no question that I will no longer be doing my scheduled maintenance here. read more

My experience in owning a Chrysler for six years is that they have only two types of dealerships--there is the extremely predatory kind out of your worst nightmares that will punish you for needing repairs on your car. Then there is the extremely efficient, honest, and customer-oriented kind. Bill Estes Chrysler Dodge simply has an awesome service department. Having moved towns, have been here twice and had expectations exceeded by unimaginable levels. No appointment, no problem. It all goes quick. Communication--excellent, and you can look out the glass window in the lounge and see what is going on in case you want to know. Lounge--very comfortable, with a Keurig if you want some coffee. Bathrooms v clean. First time I came in I thought I might have two issues going on. They ended up being minor, and were fixed no charge along with oil change. I left with $22 bill where unscrupulous folks could have done me in. Second time in got tires changed no hassles--the mechanic and service manager both super nice. Just a good vibe here. None of the customers look stressed, never heard a bad story going on, and the employees happy. read more

I'm over this place. What exactly does "Estes Earn?" They have lots of crappy business practices. They don't do quality service work. Third time in for repairs for same problem within 4,000 miles. Then they say two days... that turns into 5 for simple brakes and calipers. With no explanation. Now on third trip gotta deal with some smar mouth kid because his dad is the "GM" and "doesn't feel like walking around the dealership to find the service advisor I need." Excuse me? Well Weston, maybe find a different job. Then I get promised "I will call u first thing in the morning to get you a loaner", 5 hours later no call so I call up. Took my car here beginning of December to get a diagnostics done and was told the problem was a transmission solenoid pack, bill was $928, got the work done and was told the car would be done the following Tuesday, never received a call that Tuesday so I waited a couple more days to get a call and never did so i tried to contact Jason Shores my service rep on Thursday and got no answer multiple times, so again Friday tried to contact him and the service department multiple times and got no answer. Finally I decided to just go there that afternoon and talked to Jason and he said the car would be ready at 5 that evening, went and picked up the car was on my way home and the car was still doing the exact thing I took it there for, went back the next morning and he didn't even act surprised I was back with the car, so they looked at it again and tried to tell me I needed something done that I had already had done prior to taking it there which I then told them I had already got that done so then they decided it was an electrical wiring issue, left the car with them again and was told it would be done that following Monday or Tuesday, never got a call from them either of those days, so I again gave them a couple more days to contact me and never heard anything, also drove past the car lot on my way to work and back home Monday-Thursday and the car was In the back lot not moved every single one of those days, so I tried contacting Jason Thursday afternoon and the service department again multiple times and couldn't get ahold of anyone so I had to drive all the way back to the place again just to figure out what was going on with my car and jason told me it would be done the next day around 12ish, never got a call at that time so I tried to contact him around 3 and couldn't reach him so had to go back up there and he said they were finishing it up, waited 45 minutes and finally got to leave the place with the car, next morning went to go to work and the car was still having the same problem so I took it back up there that day and was told it still had some kind of electrical issue and it would be done Saturday. Never got a call Saturday and have tried to contact them multiple times over the last week and can't get ahold of Jason or anyone, have drove by the lot multiple times over the last week also and the car again parked in the spot it has been all week and hasnt moved, so almost 2 weeks now that they have had my car since the last time I took it there and I have not heard a single thing about it and can't get an answer from anyone there at service. Very frustrated that I have been dealing with this car lot for almost 2 months now trying to get my car fixed and have been having to find rides to work and to do errands and they cant even communicate anything with me about my own car and keep giving me days it will be done and I don't hear anything from them and ALWAYS have to go to the place to find out anything and paid them $928 to fix a car that isn't even fixed after 2 months now. read more

Drove my 2014 jeep trail hawk- mileage 61k. to the Bill Estes Jeep dealership Brownsburg-Indiana sept 2020. I called their service department after almost a month of not hearing from them. They said they had forgot about it totally. Then 2 days later they said it needed a new $4300.00+ transmission! And if I just wanted them to add trans fluid it would cost me about $480.00. So i left after paying their so called inspect fee. I initially took it there for water pump noise & cvc axle bearing noise! but nothing about the transmission. I've never had transmission problems of any kind! I had just took a 800 mile trip with no problems. They said it was almost out of trans fluid which was a lie ! Wouldn't show me proof of any kind. I was forced to pay their $145.00 so called inspection fee. They told me my concerns with water pump & cvc joint noise were probably due to the transmission! I don't believe Estes even inspected it. I drove it right to Edwards transmission shop. The shop & district manager put it up on their lift. They showed & told me the transmission was not low on fluid nor was there any evidence of any leaks up to that date! I then drove it to another major Jeep dealer who did a thorough inspection & stated the same as Edwards did to me. So it cost me $145 & a month's loss of use for Bill Estes jeep's theft by deception scam! This is 100% true statement as sure as I'm alive! I have documentation & statements to prove it! We spent $100K buying my truck and my wifes car. We got the Lux Care package on both vehicles. While changing a map light in my truck, the tech did not wear gloves and got grease all over my headliner. They tried to make it right but wasnt able to do the job to my satisfaction. April this year we had a noise and took them 3 days to find it was the brakes. They fixed the problem however left a tool on the car which caused a rattle. Took it to Westgate Chrysler, they found the cause in less than an hour and reported that it was a hanger the last brake technician used was left on the vehicle. Called Bill Estes service manager to ask them to cover the $135 charge from Westgate and they refused. Now thats piss poor service not standing behind a mistake!!! read more

As someone else said, if there was a 0 star, I would select it. We have had our 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee in for service at the Brownsburg dealership for a tire pressure sensor that will not go away. They have had the car for a week here and there and given us a loaner while they've worked (?) on our Jeep. We cannot get Jason Shores to return phone calls even though he gave us his director phone number and assured us he answers his phone and returns calls. The last time our car was in (probably 4th or 5th time for this problem) they had the car for 4.5 weeks. We called on a weekly basis for updates, with no return calls. The last time we called we asked if they still had our car, because we still had theirs. His return message to us was "I thought I called you 2 weeks ago to tell you your car was ready. When we picked it up, we asked if they had driven the car and the answer was "YES", There was a 4 mile difference in the odometer from when we left it until we picked it up. We left the dealership and hadn't gone 8 miles when the Tire pressure sensor light came back on. We were also promised a refund of the $345 module they put in that didn't fix the problem. We are still waiting on phone calls and responses to promises that are not kept. This problem started soon after we paid cash for the car used, with 86K on it in March of 2017. I was there today to have a recall item fixed. When I left I received a text message from them informing me of additional services I needed to complete and that were over due. They claimed to have completed a multi-point inspection and that these all needed repaired. Alignment Total Toe , Brake Fluid Flush, Rear Diff Flush & Exchange. This car is babied and rides like a dream. It only has 30,000 miles on it. Also on the inspection they had may items checked as being inspected. However I was watching and the guy never opened the hood and never check out anything. I also watched him talk with other mechanics and Jason the service check-in person. I just hope he actually make the recall replacement correctly. If I was to have the items that they claimed needed done , it would have cost me almost $1000. I tried replying back to them and some person just wanted to have the service manager call or email me. I declined. Just do the right thing and don't try to BS customers. Had my van serviced there, many issues! First, they had the van for 3 weeks before we even got word of what was wrong. Several phone calls to them during the 3 weeks were never returned. Finally got our quote and approved the things to be done. A few days later the van was ready. One of the things wrong was the AC wasn't working in the van. When we got it back, it wasn't blowing out super cold air. Within a few days it was back to blowing full hot air. We called again to get the van back in, as they didn't get it fixed. Many more phone calls with them and messages left over a couple weeks! Even left message for service manager. Finally got a call back and got car back in. Only to find that supposedly the freon never got added like they said. Told my husband they would take him to work, and have the van done by end of the day. Except...we got a text stating our van needed yet another part, which was going to be another $500+ (we had already shelled out over $600). Husband talked to them and they said OH we misdiagnosed your van before! What!?! So we refuse service because we feel they are pulling our chain and guess what my air works...oh but now the kicker. Today, the very next day after get van back it dies! Yep has to be towed! Sure in the heck not taking it to them! Rude, won't return phone calls, and awful at diagnosis! Stay clear! read more
