Bill miller's sauce is the kind i'd like to replicate at home in Del Rio. It was spot on satisfying to my taste buds! I ordered the Wrangler plate "with your choice of meat and 2 sides ( very reasonably priced). I chose that delicious German- like cole slaw and the fantastically seasoned green beans. Had we been at home i would have lifted the plate to my lips and drunk the deliciousness down. The rye bread and roll was great! I wd be in big trouble if Bill Miller's was in Del Rio. The french fries came out cold, the sausage looked liked it had been in the warmer since Friday, the bun on the chopped beef sandwich was hard, the portions were small, etc. We are pretty sure they just dropped our cold fires on the grease to heat them up. Their breakfast tacos are all equal tasty as my favorite is the carne guisada and the bean and cheese. The pork ribs are "fall off the bone type" And most of all their employees are very friendly. Each taco was 4.5" (yes I measured them because it was THAT hard to believe). They were baby tacos. More narrow than the inside of my palm. Definitely felt ripped off. We tried again a few months later, which was on Saturday. We got home... and couldn't believe it. The tacos were normal size but the egg was not there. If you looked VERY closely, you can see a little bit of yellow. Yep.... we figure each Bill Miller taco has about 1/3 of an egg. That's $50 wasted on 2 visits. Take a look at the pictures. I would give 0 stars if I could. I went in on 08/20 around 7am. I ordered a biscuit and gravy and 2 tacos with an orange juice. On the drive-through window is a sticker that says something along the lines of forks spoons salt and napkins available upon request. So, I asked for a cup of Ice for my OJ, a fork, and some salt. I couldn't even believer the shit that happened next. The girl at the window says, "Okay really you want FOUR salts?" Then walks away and starts talking to the lady making the tacos and starts telling her that I asked for exactly FOUR salts. Rolling her eyes as she gets my ice. The lady rolling tacos (chubbier, older, mexican lady) hands the young girl my food, and when the young girl turns to hand it to me, the taco roller said, "Wait I think I forgot the...". The young girl turns to her and was going to hand the bag back so the taco roller could check the bag. The taco roller flicks her risk and says in Spanish, "Don't worry about it. If there's anything missing, he will come back." The taco roller and the girl at the window laugh and she hands over my food and says "Thank You!" I don't know what's worse: The fact that she thought my order was incomplete and just waved me off as they laughed and joked in Spanish or the fact that they talked shit about me being picky directly in front of me. You'll have to check your order every time you use the drive thru and when dining in, you'll find yourself watching people who ordered way after you get their meals before you. And when you address that your order hadn't come out yet, they will ask what you ordered and then just say, "Oh, sorry we must have lost your order." Absolutely the worst bill millers location ever. Terrible service. Portion size is like getting a child plate. No BBQ sauce on the condiment bar like at EVER OTHER BM IN EXISTENCE. Let me just get to the point. Went through the drive thru in Castroville, TX and ordered the Bill Miller breakfast. The girl asked me to repeat my order 5 times and laughed the whole time. I added 2 orders of "griddle cakes" and she proceeded with laughing and then told me "it sounds funny the way you are saying it" then I changed it to PANCAKES. She then laughed and said, "oh, okay" and then she really couldn't contain her laughter and talking to someone else over the microphone as if I was incompetent when that is how Bill Miller's has their pancakes as griddle cakes. After speaking with the manager a young lady, she didn't seem to care, she said the girl was new. When you have a new employee someone superior should be guiding her. I'm not sure who is doing the training there but they need a new manager in charge! Customer Service at the Castroville location SUCKS!!!! This isn't my first "bad" experience at this location but it's the only one by my house. I have been eating at Bill Miller's (mainly in San Antonio) 25 yrs or more, and I've always been pleased with the quality, taste, and prices...UNTIL we had lunch at this location. From the moment I stepped in the business, the experience was bad...The young lady taking my order, acted as if she'd never heard the term "combination plate"...the next cashier held up the line, because she couldn't figure out how to finish an order and use the register at the same time. And it only got worse... once I got my meal, I could hardly recognize the meats on the plate...The sausage was old and dry, and the brisket likewise, or extremely "wet, or just simply fat, which was soaked in barbeque sauce,as a disguise. Then the dessert, peach cobbler (both mine and my wife's) was nothing more than almost raw, uncooked dough, with little, or no peaches. That was TOO much! Spoke to the manager, who's reaction was very nonchalant. Her explanation was they received it from the Commissary like that, and offered us another serving. I declined. She was done.
