First of all I want to express how thankful I am for The Rock Movers…read more Being a full-service moving company, I needed someone to help me pack AND move due to a recent injury crippling me right before I was scheduled to move. Their reliability and ease of setting up the packing and move when I was not even able to be present and the timing was truly helpful. It was more expensive than I had ever paid for movers, even without the packing, and that's honestly why I could not give them full 5 stars. As a military member going through an honorable discharge to help my family in crisis while already injured myself, I had to empty out my own savings and my children's I had saved up over a 9-month deployment in the combat zone to move back to my family when they needed my help, not even sure if I could then provide for them. So while I really thank them for the job they did, I never financially recovered from that and I do ask Rock Movers to consider the vets or military members in San Diego and to complete a weight estimate for them to be reimbursed.

Booked 24/7 to do the work. They showed up on the scheduled day about 8:30 am and we did a walk thru, showing them what was going and what was not. moving from a 4 bdrm to a 2 bdrm takes some downsizing. They started right in, wrapping, filling boxes and moving them out to the truck. Taking apart the furniture that needed it and moving it out to the truck. They are definitely good at their job. It took them till 10:30 at night to get it all packed and stowed in the truck. They were prompt on delivery day too. Showed up at 9 am . started unloading and putting together furniture and placing it where requested. Took till 4pm before they were finished with their part of unpacking . Great job! I highly recommend this company. They are prompt, polite and very good at their job.

Honestly, it got worse from there. The two movers were very slow and you pay by the hour. I started loading and unloading stuff myself. I even unwrapped and moved furniture myself (ending up cracking my Apple Watch screen in the process). They movers left behind a ton of stuff at my old place. It has taken me at least 15 trips in my Honda Civic to get it all. They took my desk but left behind my desk chair, so I had to beast that myself. They left behind my big, heavy bike rack and I had to move it in my car, cracking the center console in the process (the car is brand new). I've called multiple times to try and get some money back but I paid in cash. They got my money so I'm SOL. DO NOT BOOK WITH THEM! Very shady practices, too. They are definitely not insured. I feel so bad for the guy who ended up in the ER. He will definitely be covering that himself (the other movers confirmed this). They didn't have me sign any paperwork beforehand. They didn't check the time or anything. Just a Docusign at the end. They should call themselves D- Movers. It's way more accurate. I move often and this is by far the worst moving experience of my life.

We focused on large furniture first, got all the key items handled, then worked through the rest. Communication was constant. They asked questions, followed direction, and adjusted quickly without any pushback. The team was professional the whole time. No hesitation, even with heavy items or sending things upstairs. Everything was wrapped appropriately, not overdone, just done right. Nothing was damaged, and they were careful with walls and flooring throughout. We had discussed heavier items and drive time ahead of time, and everything was handled fairly. No surprises. I also compared pricing beforehand, and their rate of $199/hour (cash) plus the $60 truck fee was in line with what I was seeing. We ended up at about 3 hours 45 minutes total and paid $825, which felt great for the level of effort and coordination involved. Every move is different, but there were no surprises. Vladimir, Dima, Greg, and Aibek were a great team. They worked hard, communicated well, and stayed professional throughout. I was out running last minute errands for a cross country move. They said they would go to other pickups and come back, I came back early to get them my car. They did NOT wait 2 hours for me- I watched the guy pull up the second time. They actually said he would be there in about 2 hours, it was 4. I didn't need to rush home. Also, they did not pay for my Uber to dinner (but they did pay for my Uber to Walmart upon me picking up my car though after delivering it to the wrong location aka asked for my address and location but forgot to pass it on to the delivery guy and picked a random Walmart in a big city that was 35 minutes from me, so yes that Uber they paid for). Also, I am not a "young person" like your daughter. Let's stop assuming people's ages and even then basing how we feel about them off that. Plain and simple, the communication was poor, nobody on your team talks to each other which is why things are falling through the cracks, and I let you guys know that as a way to improve. Both delivery drivers were great, but telling someone to drop off their car at the downtown office after dinner and then showing up at noon "because of a miscommunication" and then going to the wrong delivery address "because we forgot to pass along the updated information" doesn't work for a business. Own it and move on! *** He responded again and is now saying my friends planned a surprise dinner for me (not true, I was going to dinner with one friend) and I blew them off. I am attaching photos of the emails and text communication with them. It shows the email they sent me when the driver thought my car was already at the office so I had to reroute and make myself available for them, which they thanked me for.... not I blew them off for a surprise dinner lol.
