I wanted to get rid of my pool table so I called and spoke with Brandon (the owner) who asked me to send photos so he could take a look at the pool table. I sent 5 photos; after Brandon reviewed the pictures, he told me he would remove it at no charge. Once his employees came to my property, they said, it's in worse shape than we thought, we need to charge you to remove it. I called Brandon and told him that it didn't feel good to have this "switch" at the last minute and asked him why he did NOT just tell me that his guys would assess the pool table once they arrived and IF it was in poor condition, then I would have to pay for removal? Total waste of our time with no effort to remedy the situation. We felt like we were involved in a scam ("bait and switch"). Do not trust this business. read more

Devon and Marco did an excellent job disassembling the table and reassembling it in my home, and it ended up looking even better than before. I went to the store. They say that they have hundreds of cues to choose from but that is not the case. They have one wall of cues and 90% of the cues that have are low end cues. They have a small selection of good cues to choose from but are a little over priced. These same cues can be bought for a little less online from other retailers. Our pool table needed new felt and new cushions. Enter Billiards Direct. Again. They keep our old table healthy and looking new. I called and spoke with Brandon and set up a time for them to come out to our house for the job. Tuesday between 10:30 and 11:00 was the agreed upon time. On Tuesday right on cue I received a call from Rob. He and Marco were on their way. A few minutes later Rob and Marco rolled up in their van and immediately started off loading their gear. They both were super cool guys. They didn't mind that I hung out with them in my Pub Garage as they worked. Rob was a metal head and so am I, so I cranked up some tunes and we talked music. He was particulary happy when a Slayer song came on. Both he and Marco were very knowledgeable and knew their way around a pool table. They would explain to me what they were doing as they did it. It was really fascinating to watch. They even had a new triangle rack that they gave to me. Mine was eaten by my dogs... All told it took around four hours. I was in need of a quick pool table move as we were up against a move out deadline. I called on a Tuesday to get a quote and called back on Wednesday to get the table moved on Thursday. Brent was super professional and informative. I haven't owned a pool table before so he took the time to explain what the service entailed and why it was good to use a billiards moving company as opposed to doing it myself. They squeezed me in as a last minute appointment and no regrets! The move team was fantastic. They were on time and on point moving the table carefully from the previous owners home to mine. When they arrived they brought all of their own tools and got right to work. As I watched how they plan, level, put back together, and finish the reconstruction I realized this is not a job for the inexperienced. Pool tables have a lot of heavy and critical parts and without them I am certain it would still be sitting in pieces in my garage. After about an hour and a half of professional set up we were able to play our first game. It was so good! Perfect is truly the description and the price was right! I felt cared for and not gouged. I recently bought a 8-foot imperial pool table from Billiard Direct. The table was delivered very quickly (2 weeks after the purchase) with great quality. The installers are very professional and nice. I saw a small defect on the felt the next day after installation, then I contacted Brandon, who is very helpful. Then he reached out to the table cloth provider (simonis) who agrees to give a free replacement. I really appreciate the free replacement since there is a labor cost on Billiard Direct. The customer support from Brandon is awesome. I strongly recommend to shop in Billiard Direct since buying a pool table is not a small investment. POOL CUES GALORE Getting back into the sport and this place offered all the essentials. Everything related to pool, this stored had it. I came here looking for a pool cue. My dad bought my first pool cue when I was 14, it was a cheapie and I made the best of it. I dislike communal/public cues, maybe because I have some (un-diagnosed) degree of germophobia. And I sometimes I'm dealt with playing with a crooked cue that messes up my game. SO why not buy my own cue; a crafted professional cue to better my game. Easy location to find, in downtown La Mesa with ample street parking. Service was excellent, friendly and patient staff as I spend 30 minutes going back and forth between (3) cues of interest. Walked in the store and there were hundreds of pool cues to select from with different price ranges from $59 to a $250+. There were so many nice designs to pick from. I selected a few cues that I was interested in, they have a pool table where you can practice your grip and hitting the ball, and after comparing which one fits me best... the "Flirt by Players" spoke to me the most. Great grip, stability, check for vibrations, and design... it has a feminine design!!! It was pricey, $129.99, but it is a quality cue. They had many kinds of cue cases and I selected a simple one that was $24. After purchase, the guy shaped my cue tip. I'm ready for my games... LETS SHOOT POOL! read more

I wish I could give 0 stars At first my bf and I were excited about shopping for darts, we are novice players and were looking for advice. A local had recommended "Billiards and Darts Direct" to buy from. Brandon (the owner) was helping a family choose a pool table and we waited a very long time to even be acknowledged by him. We were vastly under-whelmed with the selection of darts available and most of the packages were quite dusty. Brandon opened a package for us to try on the in store dart board, and left us again. One of his staff arrived and she was incredibly helpful and patient with us. We tried about 8-10 different kinds of darts. We ended up paying $253.46 for two sets of darts, extra tips, and a case. She made the experience better. Upon purchase we were not told anything about the return policy and it is no where to be found on the wesite. It was only AFTER we purchased them that the return policy was printed on the receipt. We tried the darts for a few games after buying them, but were not satisfied...especially when we found the exact same brand and style on Amazon for 1/3 the price. We tried to return them thinking there would be no problm. The receipt said "no refunds on goods that have been DAMAGED". Ours were NOT damaged, even the tips were straight. Brandon told us that they don't do refunds on "used" darts....it said nothing about that on the receipt. PLUS...technically all of his darts are used because he allows you to open any package and use them in the store before you buy. So why was he not refunding us for our undamaged used darts? We told him that his way of business and how the return policy is written is very misleading. I re-read his policy to him and he told me "The bottom line is....I'm not giving you your money back". All he offered was to "exchange our darts" which means he would still take our "used" darts back and ultimately exchange our purchased darts with another set of his "used" store darts. We found higher quality and the same exact darts on Amazon for way cheaper. He wouldn't even consider a price match of any kind. He was rude, cold, unhelpful and from our first time buying seemed like we were bothering him by buying his product or even being there. I am very dis-satiafied with the severe lack of customer service or care. We were planning on buying a $300 home dart board from him our first day, but again....found the same one on Amazon for half the price...AND I know I will receive amazing customer service through them. I inherited a pool table recently so I called a few local pool table technicians and billiard stores to inquire about services. Out of everyone I spoke with Brandon was the friendliest and the most knowledgeable. He also happened to offer the best price for a pool table set up and re-felt. About 2 weeks later the pool table techs came out and did a great job replacing the felt. They did arrive later than the scheduled appointment time but Brandon called me to let me know they got caught up at the appointment before. It was totally fine with me and I have to give credit, these guys were working hard until 9:30 at night. They were very thorough and precise. They also put up with my dad watching the entire time.. Still my favorite store to buy from, it is a drive from North County San Diego, But well worth the drive. As for the selection Brandon has everything you could be looking for. My go to Predator cue store. I feel welcomed when I enter from the first time to each time I walk in. and Brandon and his staff always willing to listen and help with a purchase and not there to sell you something out of your league. He carries Budget Cues to High end cues and accessories. something for everyone. Tip install is same day as you wait. and is willing to help you out pick something if you are indecisive as I can be sometimes, but is still willing to give you pros and cons of each tip and also options for your playing style or breaking style. Billiards and Darts Direct is a great local store with a huge selection of pool tables, pool cues and darts equipment. Although I haven't needed their services yet, they also provide pool table assembly, pool table repair and cue tip repair. I went in on a whim last week while I was walking around downtown La Mesa. Now, I personally know almost nothing about billiards but I found Billiards and Darts Direct to be an incredible resource for players and enthusiasts alike. There are tons of full sized tables on display and the entire right wall is adorned with a multitude of pool cues for sale. While browsing the store I met the owner, Brandon Gramse, and he took the time to explain some of the finer points of the game. He even showed me a few trick shots for impressing my friends. Brandon, who is an APA player himself, told me he opened the store because of his love of the game and he likes to impart his billiards wisdom on customers who come in. I left the store on a positive note and ever since I've been considering adding a pool table to my own place. I had a great experience buying my pool table from this place. I talked to Brandon on the phone, and he was there when I went in last week. I had a million and one questions for him from wood types, weight, measurements... he answered everything politely and was very informative. He wasn't trying to sell me some crazy expensive table, but rather one that would work for me and fit nicely in my house. They have a huge selection of cues and a good selection of tables. They also have shuffle board tables, barstools, darts, ping pong conversion tables etc. My table was delivered and installed yesterday by two guys named Travis and Jack. They were both very nice and didn't let me make the wrong decision of where to place my table! It took at good 2.5 hours, and the table was set up right and plays really well! I've started to become serious about pool and decided to invest in a high quality cue. I took the two hour+ drive down to the store. All I can say is that it was worth every minute. The owner Brandon let me try out a few of the Predator cues and shafts before I made my final choice. I had a lot of questions ranging anywhere from cue/shaft maintenance to whether or not I should replace the tip. He was extremely patient and very informative with every question I had. I could definitely tell he was an honest person and took pride in making sure I left happy. I have been to other billiards stores in the past and have always felt judged when the employee(s) ask me about my experience as a player. It always seems like the more experienced players look down on the novices. I did not feel this way at this store. Brandon was extremely helpful and let me know that if I ever had any questions I could contact him. It's nice to know that there are players/shop owners out there who genuinely love the game and want to instill their wisdom to up and comers. Not the most impressive team in the world. Ask them any questions and they act like they are doing you a favor by being there and talking to you. Not really into rude people who aren't appreciative of the job they have. I won't buy anything from here, it's more of a window shopping store which I use to get my hands on product before I buy from a more deserving vendor online who treats their customers with the respect humanity should be treated with. Background: Twelve years ago I used to be on a dart team and loved playing and for 7 years (since our electronic board died) my husband and I have talked about buying another board for home but every time we shopped some where we just got the feeling that they didn't care if they had our business or not so it was a purchase we continued to put off. A few weeks ago we stumbled across Billiards and Darts Direct online and liked their website and YouTube videos and decided to check them out. We bought a board that day and a few tips to change our soft tips to steel tips and some bar darts for our friends to throw. He teased me we would be back after throwing our light soft tips and sure enough we treated ourselves to new darts as a bday/Christmas presents to ourselves. We have now shopped and purchased here three times and have been happy every time. We felt very welcome and the service was friendly and courteous. They were able to recommend different darts to me and they have a board set up to test them out. We will continue to use them for any refreshing of supplies we need. Brandon was a great help getting a second cue for my sons mother for Christmas, she got the one she wanted and loves it. I also need help getting setup with a complete dart board setup for My house and he gave me all the info I needed to make a well informed choice. I bought everything I needed and even decided to get another set of darts that were more up to date with today's technology in the dart world. My current sets were over 20 years old. I've been going to Billiards and Darts Direct and now Select Billiards for over 10 years! I have always been treated nice by the staff. Brandon (Owner) is full of good information and valuable knowledge when it comes to his products and services. I trust his judgment when I'm shopping for a new cue stick. I also had several new cue tips replacements done on several shafts. I never had a problem with any one of them falling off. I had a tip replacement done at this other place in Chula Vista off of Palomar Rd primarily due to location and it fell off during a city finals tournament.
