I cannot speak to the store aspect, all I can attest to is the mobile pool table moving and repair that these guys offer as well. I had a horrible experience with these guys. My boyfriend and I had just acquired a pool table and had gone through all the trouble to sand, stain, and varnish the table and now it was time for new felt and bumpers. We ponied up for the highest level of felt and awesome K66 rubbers. After a $500+ bill and a couple hours the guys left and we were happy. That was until we went to play on it and the rails had been misaligned - the ball wouldn't even bounce off one of the rails cause it was mounted so high it would almost just get trapped on it. They offer a 100% guarantee so we called them back to fix the rails. They came back in a couple days and fixed them to the way they should be. A couple weeks later we noted that wax had bubbled and seeped up in the seams between the pieces of slate. Once again, I called Billiards Direct back and asked them what the problem was. After trying to tell me that it was "too hot" in my house and the wax was melting along with I must have been applying too much pressure to the table causing it to shift (mind you we'd only played one game on it) they reluctantly came back to our house (bad attitudes included) and "fixed" it. A week later, the same thing happened again - I'll be darned if I was gonna call them back again to keep half-@$$ing the work they were doing. We ended up calling Billiard Pros and they fixed it and we have not had a problem since. The horrible customer service, mixed with the crappy job they did on our table means I'll never use or recommend their services ever again. read more

I have been shopping here for all my billiard wants and needs for about 10 years. The staff in store is extremely knowledgeable and does a fantastic job of working with their customers to provide expert input and feedback. Their cue selection is one of the best I have seen, their cue repair services are spot on and the crew that works in the shop offers top notch customer service. A week ago, I ordered up a pool table to be installed in my house. The installation was scheduled for Friday between 10:30 and 11:30. A little after 10am, I received a call from the store and Brandon informed me that despite the power outage from the day before, it would be business as usual. At 11:10 the installers arrived to my house. They worked hand in hand with me to position the table in the best spot possible and within 2 hours they had me up and shooting. The work the installers performed was completely professional. I was overly impressed with their knowledge, their great and friendly attitude, their advice and how clean they kept their work space. By the time they left, it looked they were never there aside from the new pool table sitting in my house. Absolutely amazing service and knowledge, very reasonable prices... The family bought my parents felt and bumpers for Christmas. My Mom and Dad couldn't be happier with the outcome. It's like playing on a new table. My Mom said that was the best Christmas present ever. From what I understand the repair men found damage to the slate near one of the corner pockets. You would never know it after playing on it. Went there to have my tip changed, twice it fell off. First time they blamed the glue and I brought it back and they replaced it. After it fell off the second time I took it somewhere else and it works perfect again. Shop around the prices there are high and service is mediocre. read more

This place is where pros shop.. or any Joe schmo can go to feel like a pro. Brandon (I believe is the owner) was extremely helpful and patient with me. I had to call several times to ask tons of questions before scheduling. He did not try to make sales by suggesting things that we didn't need. He asked how often we play and how well we played to assist with the hardest decision---Felt! My fiance inherited a pool table from 1983, that was in really bad shape. After dusting, sanding, and staining it ourselves we decided to enlist professionals to re-felt and balance the table. The guys who came were amazing. They were there a little longer than expected because of the leveling but were very nice and taught my fiance a lot about his table, the art of pool, and even a few life lessons. Immediately after our table was completed we headed down to the store front because we needed balls (lol.. never gets old). Brandon was there to help choose the right balls, cues, and other accessories necessary for a pool table. I appreciate all of the team members help! Great experience and price. They came on a Saturday to refelt and change my bumpers, gave me a 2 hour window but actually showed up EARLY! They were extremely quick with the work and I was very pleased. Found a splinter under the felt but they sent the guys right back out to fix it. read more

Little confusion in our order, but not from Billards Direct. They made sure to go above and beyond to make sure we were happy. Delivery, and also the set up guys always seem to come at the beginning of your hour or two window, which I love. They beat me to my home. Brandon just showed up to deliver our missing parts, and our matching dart board to our pool table. That's an owner that goes above and beyond, like we do for our companies. I'm so happy with them and our pool table. It's not a traditional table. It has a full matching wood table to turn into a dining or buffet table. Worth every penny! read more

This place is rad and I wish San Jose had a shop like this!! They had everything the pool/darts aficionado could ever desire. We went in looking for some darts and darts accessories and found an entire corner stocked with goodies....darts of different weights and materials, binders literally overflowing with flights, tips, etc. Brandon, the owner, was super helpful and even opened up some darts for us to try out. The store was full of other people getting equipment for pool, and based on their conversations, it seemed that they were regular and satisfied customers. Also, we showed up right before he was closing up, and he continued to stay open to help us and even let others into the store. When we eventually did leave, it was 30 mins after closing and there were probably 7 people still hanging out and trying out different cues and things. So, in short, GREAT customer service, incredible selection, and just a really fun place to check out. Was in the market for a mid to high level cue, after weeks of research had it narrowed down to 5 different models. Called every shop I could find within 200 miles to see who had these specific cues in stock. Finally found one Billiards Direct. Made my way down to Mesa and spoke with Brandon, not only is he extremely knowledgeable and helpful but he also has a huge selection of cues on hand as well as demo cues & shafts that you can try out. This place is great. They have so many cues up on their wall to chose from. Ive been to the other billiards shops in san diego, and this place has so much more to chose from than this place. I bought my darts, dartboard, the multiple pool cues I have, and I bought a DLT Pool table from them as well. When I went to set up my game room completely I also bought a poker table, with the cards and the chip set from them. They have everything you need to set up your game room, and their prices are very reasonable too. The two guys that came to setup my table did an amazing job. The guy was so knowledgeable about pool tables, and he set my table up just the way I wanted. They even tightened up the pockets for me on my pool table when I asked them to. read more

I'm not a super experienced pool player so I decided to go to a local shop where I could get help choosing a cue and other accessories to get into playing pool. The shop is nice and clean but getting straight answers from them was like pulling teeth. I've sent them several questions via email as well and rarely get a reply. I'm very disappointed, I really wanted to utlize a local shop for my pool needs but since then have moved on and bought over a $1000 worth of cues and supplies from pool dawg. Pretty poor job guys when an online service can provide better service then a local store. read more

Went looking for a pool table for the house. Well they were very expensive and a little to big for our space. Well a friend told us to see Billiards Direct, what a lucky experience. We have an old table the kids used for years and their kids play on it now. The trouble is that it was starting to fall apart because of the plastic chutes and the balls not getting back to the front. I went over to get parts but they are generic at best and the more we talked I wasn't sure about fixing it myself. WELL, Saturday he sent a team over to fix it and thank God I didn't attempt this myself. There are a lot of parts to this and they had to make special cuts to make it all work. We decided to have it re felted because of the wear and age. Well, this table looks better than it waver did because of the felt quality direct uses. We have a great rec room again, the table is great, they vacuumed up all around after the work. What a great experience. Can't compliment them enough. Very reasonable pricing too, try to beat it any where, and get this kind of service. read more

i just got off the phone with brandon regarding the purchase of a pool table i had seen at his shop a few days earlier. he told me what i was looking at would not work too well in my area. sadly, (for both of us) this killed the sale. brandon's honesty, and his philosophy of not "wanting to make the sale no matter what" left me respecting his business ethics and trusting his judgement. i've been in retail all my adult life (next year i become a beatles song "64"). i was once told by a very wise man that "you can't sell from an empty wagon". his shop follows that thinking. his inventory of merchandise is huge!! you go in to make a purchase and chances are you will leave with just what you wanted. i wanted a standard regulation cue ball for use on a bar table, i had four to pick from!! i noticed the selection of cue sticks in stock literally covers walls this is very rare in todays brick and mortar market. thank you brandon barry arkin read more

Had them move and set up a table for me. The movers themselves were really nice guys, just didn't do all that great of a job setting the table up. I knew my area had a slope so the legs would need to be shimmed up, but uniform looking pieces of wood would have been nice instead of just random pieces of whatever wood scraps they had. Besides that the rails werent installed straight. So I called for them to come back out and straighten them again. Better, but they still couldn't get them perfectly straight (they had no tools to insure they were straight) so I told them to leave it and I would do it myself. So that's what I did. Using a long magnesium straight edge and some clamps I got the rails perfect. No idea why people who do this for a living couldn't handle it. The reason I was told, was that the holes in the stale wouldn't allow for it (really?) which turned out not be be the case. Couldn't decide between 2 and 3 stars. Decided on 2 because I even asked for them to fix the problem and they didn't. read more
