Mad Onion Burger and rings
Chuck W.

Had the triple onion burger. The onions worked well with a great burger. Much better burger than I was expecting! The onion rings what better than normal as well. Excellent if your not looking for a fancy meal.

My buddies band, "Crash & Burn"

I lived in the area for 20+ years, this is a place that I always wanted to go but I had young kids and could never fit it into my schedule. Now that my kids are grown and have their own thing, my wife & I are loving all the free Friday nights. Our friends, the husband plays in a band that plays locally. They call us up and say, wanna see Bob play at Country Corner? Sure! We pull up and park in the back. Waking in, it reminds me of the pub in American Werewolf in London. It's filled with locals enjoying beers at the bar and pub food. The beer board was a little confusing, they had numbers matching with descriptions. It was loud in the pub so I tell the bartender, #4! It had a long description but I knew it was Stella. Stella is too weak. I grab my beer and Bob and the band starts rockin'. They do a cover of a Van Morrison song, we're all in the zone, its a fun night. Country Corner, I'm glad to finally meetcha!

Nice selection!
Tara M.

Absolutely love this bar! Great laid back atmosphere, the regulars are always nice and the beer is mostly local. There is live music which is always a cool thing to check out with really unique and local bands. What I love about this place is that it's a nice size place with tables to sit at and large U shape bar that can fit about 15-20 people all the way around. The bartenders are always super nice and down to earth. They offer happy hour and a full variety menu. The food there is really great as well. You can bring the kids in for lunch or go out with the gang for dinner. For nights without live music they have a jukebox that isn't that expensive and 2 TV's by the bar to flick on whatever sports you wanna watch. Great local land mark and I would certainly recommend stopping in for a beer! P.s. This is for Ben- my favorite is definitely the chicken parm sandwich!!

Buffalo wings
Rob P.

Great wings. All the appetizers I've had here are very good. They also have a variety of craft beers. It seems like they are constantly rotating the styles & brands of beer. They have a giant chalk board that has a number next to the description for easy ordering. If you want to sit there & crush Bud Lights (which isn't a bad thing) this isn't your place but if you like craft beer & apps in a college bar atmosphere you might enjoy yourself here.

Writing this review solely for Olivia the bartender. She had to tend to the whole bar, over 25 people here with only 1 bar back. She KICKED ass. She was smiley and so sweet. 10/10 customer service. She deserves a raise!!!!

Wings!!!! You gotta try them !!!

I love old bars in old buildings with good food and drink. This place doesn't disappoint! The wings are some of the best around.

Ehhh Too loud Yes;…read morethere was a game going on- but still; you could not hear the person next to you. Got the protein shrimp and steak bowl (wanted rice instead of mashed potatoes) I added black beans, mushrooms, and cheese. Rice was over done and bland and mushrooms were cold; but tasty and beans were also coldish. The cheese was too little and only placed on the rice. It was suppose to come in a bowl but didn't. Very difficult to eat and the sauce that was suppose to come on the side didn't come with it. The waitress was nice enough; but too busy to accommodate our needs in real time. All in all I made do- cut it all up and mixed it on my plate and it was good- not great. My friends got sandwiches and liked them. Leftovers for tomorrow We hoped for Calamari appetizer but they were sold out. Got the chicken quesadillas (loaded with onions)

Upon arriving back in NY yesterday, we were vexed with the options for dinner; wanting a wine bar…read morewith Old World characteristics, food being of relative importance. We read a recent review where someone proclaimed the owner to be nasty & unfriendly (sure, I am paraphrasing). Those types of reviews are generally emotionally charged and written by plebs I find. More on that toward the end. Pulling up to a rather unassuming east end Long Island small shopping plaza drenched in rain; opening the door, you are taken back to a semi rustic and dim interior. Perfectly elegant in its bucolic charm- with nice lounge music playing. It is a sit where one likes atmosphere. This is meant with the utmost of respect and candour. We were greeted kindly by the proprietoress (Jacqueline), and handed pleasantly robust binders with the wine list and food. Deciding to treat this in the more European café type, we had glasses and charcuterie. I, the Sagrantino, and her the Kerner. Jacqueline was vocally pleased with our interesting choices. The night drew on, more wine ensued, more food, multiple conversations, and I completed reading through each page and wine choice...finding much to be recognised and appreciated (Kirwan, Moric, Georg Breuer to name but a few) At the end of the night, I asked Jacqueline to pick an appropriate nightcap. She not only delivered, but gave us a wonderful story including the provenance and her experiences - ultimately, the word genius came up more than once. To wit, there was nothing here but an exceptional experience with a like-minded wine enthusiast. I felt welcomed and in the frith of old kin. Nasty, belligerent, dullard atmosphere- indeed not. The apps included: chickpea fries, Caesar salad, spicy tuna crispy rice, French onion soup, and jumbo shrimp cocktail. Entrees included: tavern burger, Monterey chicken club, cobb salad, fish & chips, roasted cauliflower 'steak', and lobster roll (either cold or warm). I went with the chickpea fries, which were very crispy on the outside and extremely creamy on the inside. It is coated in a layer of chickpea powder and then fried. It was very interesting and i'd order this again. It paired well with the harissa aioli. For my entrée, I got the beer-battered fish and chips. My fries were much thicker than everyone else's, and they also came with potato chips that tasted oily. I didn't love the fish and chips and wouldn't order this again, but my friends enjoyed their burgers, shrimp cocktail, French onion soup, and roasted cauliflower steak. Service was good. The wait staff checked on us many times to make sure everyone got their food and that our water cups were full. The outside of Mirabelle is beautiful, and we saw it being set up for a baby shower. The space is open…read morewith plenty of seating, servers are very nice, and it feels perfect for a quick date or girls' brunch -- but not really a spot for guys to hang out and eat a lot of food. I had the yogurt with blueberry filling, pineapple, and grapes -- it tasted exactly as it looks, clean and simple. The caffè latte used Paramount Coffee's "The Perfect" beans; the shot was dark and strong at first, but once mixed it became smooth with a slight bitterness. The chicken Caesar salad bun with onion rings had a simple, healthy flavor but the portion was a bit small. Banana foster was more like a dessert than coffee, with a strong cinnamon note -- the banana flavor was subtle due to caramelization. You can add espresso if you want. Downsides: despite the name, it's not a good place to study. A lot of people come to eat, talk, hang out, and play games, so it's not quiet. Price-wise, coffee and drinks are reasonably priced, and milk swaps or small customizations aren't heavily charged, but food portions feel small for the price. They have a restroom, are wheelchair friendly, and they mentioned they own a roaster nearby and plan to start roasting their own beans soon. Overall, a solid spot with good vibes -- just not for quiet studying.
