My boyfriend and I came here for dinner. To start we had the queso fundido. We've had it at other locations, and it is our favorite. It was very yummy! For my meal I had the chorizo enchiladas. The dish came with thee enchiladas that had a generous amount of chorizo. Flavors were great throughout. My boyfriend had Arroz Con Pollo, which he also enjoyed. Our waitress was attentive. So why 4 stars and not 5? Simple. We were not told of the daily specials. We heard our waitress tell the tables near us the specials of the day, so we knew there was some type of daily special. We went here tonight. We made a last-minute reservation, thinking that they had room for us one in fact, they didn't. Overall, the experience was negative. We made a last-minute reservation for four adults and four kids. They were able to fit us in right next to the music. We were not told we would be sitting near the live music, which is too loud for us and the children. We were seated one foot away The food was mediocre--very bland. The check was incorrect. They charged us for children's drinks, even though, as per the menu, children's meals come with drinks. They tried to argue this with us, but we had to show them their own menu. Very poor practice. The manager was unhelpful and extremely rude. We will never return. We highly recommend Bonita or Don Quixote. read more

We didn't get off to a great start and unfortunately isn't wasn't really up from there. When we walked in there was no one at the hostess stand and an employee in the back behind the bar area noticed us but didn't acknowledge like it was someone else's job to address us which turned out to be our waitress after several minutes. Had to use the restroom which was a universal one person at a time and waited for 2 others ahead of me and then there was no toilet paper. Everyone in the place (which was just 3 other parties of 2-4 each) was seated in the same area and it was very noisy. Ordered white sangria and red was brought out. Asked for ice and the guy who originally noticed but didn't acknowledge us came with a cup which he tipped into the sangria glass and used his fingers on a few of the cubes and then took it away. We made an 8:00 reservation for our family of 6 a week prior to "Cinco de Mayo" because we knew it would be crowded. This was a celebration for our son's awards ceremony and he was so excited to enjoy festive food and drink following his event. We arrived at 7:45 and were told there were no tables available but we'd be called by 8:10 if any opened up. We sat in our vehicle and waited- no call. Went here tonight with my friends for a drink & half off apps. When we got our bill, the apps were full price & we had to mention to the bartender (we were sitting at the bar) to make the change. I also ordered dinner for my husband and I, to go. They brought the food out in a stapled bag so I didn't feel the need to check it. When I got home, we had no rice to go with our beans. As my husband was eating his chimichanga A FULL TOOTHPICK was found INSIDE one of his chimichangas. I'm extremely disappointed & upset that the kitchen staff not only forgot part of the order but somehow cooked a SHARP toothpick inside a chimichanga. Served with homemade Saratoga and tampiquena sauce - guacamole al molcajete: freshly made in front of you! Avocados, tomatoes, onions, lime, and cilantro. I'm not sure why but it's been a while since my husband and I returned to this beautiful, clean, chic establishment . We are so pleased that we decided to visit for a late lunch. The staff is lovely and always pleasant. We were so delighted to have meet sweet adorable Crystal while we sat at the bar. Crystal is very personable, welcoming and a very hard working young lady. An absolute breath of fresh air and truly an asset to your restaurant. We ordered a tasty empanada appetizer, refreshing cocktails and chicken skewers. Everything was amazing and we were 100 % satisfied. I was always impressed with their specials, here's some examples to choose from - Tapas menu at bar only Lunch special Mon -Fri $8.95 Monday dinner specials for $24.95 Tuesday is beer or house margarita $2.95 after 4pm Wednesday 2 for $25 chicken or beef fajtas. From 11:30 am to 10 pm you may order to pick up or delivery from DoorDash, Ubereats and Grubhub. Team members follow the CDC quidelines for workplaces regarding Covid-19. Safety and health are very important and practiced by staying 6 feet from others, wearing face coverings, handwashing, sanitizing and disinfecting. I highly recommend. I'll start by saying that absolutely did NOT expect this to be a 5 star review. We kinda came here on a whim and the reviews made me think it might have been a mistake before even getting here. Very very happy we decided to try it out anyway. Great experience, great food, friendly staff, and all around good vibes. What more can you ask for on a Friday night? -Nachos: 5/5, delicious. Tons of cheese (and not the crappy cheese sauce you get at other places) all the ingredients were quality and nothing was skimped on. -"El Rey" Burrito: 3.5/5, I didn't expect this to be a "wet" style burrito but regardless it was still very good. The sauce that was used wasn't great, it was kind of like a cheap tangy tomato sauce. Definitely not bad at all though. Served with refried beans, a little salad, & rice. -Chicken Tacos: 3/5, the only thing we weren't crazy about. The chicken was dry and tasted like the chicken out of a can. Which was unusual because it was the exact opposite of the chicken in the burrito. -Margaritas (Mango/Banana): Mango 5/5 Banana 3/5, very impressed with the mango. It was delicious and the price for a pitcher is very reasonable. The Banana was eh..definitely good for a glass but a pitcher would've been sickening. Overall, I'll say that I'm very happy we found this place and didn't rule it out because of the other reviews. Very surprising there are so many negative ones. Updating my original review after tonight's experience. They recently opened back up after being closed for months and we were so excited to come back. I'm not sure if they're under new ownership but the food quality and service are terrible now. I also feel like we were scammed. My husband ordered a steak off the specials menu and we were charged $60 for it. It was rubbery and barely edible. At just about any other restaurant unless it is a higher end restaurant, if the price of the specials are more than double the average menu price it is very clearly communicated. A higher price point is expected for a steak but not double the other steak dishes on the menu. When I brought this to the waitresses attention I received a very snarky "well that's the price, that's why I told you they were specials" There are so many other Mexican restaurants in the area so I see no reason to come back here. read more

Awesome and authentic mexican food and some great gluten free and vegan or vegetarian faire the cheese and etc can be left out. Very well done and prepared. My sides (rice and refried beans) could have been a lot hotter but not too bad. We will be back nice work! What a terrible restaurant the service is just so horrible! The food is just slopped together. I ordered the paella, the lobster the shrimp and scallops were so overcooked it was like chewing on rubber. It was soupy, when paella is supposed to be a nice tight rice dish. Then my husband asked for additional sour cream because he received a fingertip portion. Again...additional charge. Time for the bill. We present our credit card. WI-FI is down, it will "only" be 5 minutes. Many apologies and much more than 5 minutes later (we didn't have enough cash) Waitress gave us 1 free dessert for our patience. After I had to withdraw money from the bank in the shopping center, costing me an additional $2.50, she took 10% off the bill. I love mole sauce and that was a huge disappointment. The guacamole was terrible; the avocado was overripe and there was so little of all the other toppings, it was flavorless. I got three soft shelled tacos and the rest of my food was just as bland. The food was also ridiculously overpriced for what it was. I wouldn't come back even if it was cheaper. I stopped in for some lunch. I felt like treating myself to the Lobster. The Quesadilla De Langosta to be exact ! Worst choice ever!!!! The original presentation was nice but the taste not so much. I was really excited to try this place based off recommendation. The food was really great and NOT bland at all. Very flavorful and tasty. I got chicken and shrimp fajitas with the works and my fiancée got tacos. My mango margarita was nice and strong and the service was actually really great. Multiple servers checked in on us and the food came quickly. The atmosphere on a Friday night was cool with live music. They have specials per night and a bar. I thought the space was organized well. Very disappointing meal last night! Went on Wednesday with a party of five. Totally understaffed - one waitress and one runner worked the whole room which was not very crowded. Food order was incorrect, food was cold and service extremely slow. One of the meals came out a full 15 minutes before anyone else was served. This was the most fun we've had since the onset of Covid. Didn't really know what to expect but when we walked in I was taken to Mexico. Crystal, our server was professional and so welcoming. We ordered a pitcher of Margaritas (and then another later on ) and the Cerviche to start. Both were incredible. The presentation on the Cerviche was beautiful. We sat enjoying our drinks with Selena playing in the background. I really wanted to get up and dance! I ordered the Tacos Mexicanos with grilled shrimp and it was delicious. The portions are so hearty that I had to take 2 of the 3 tacos home. All in all it was an amazing experience and we will be back. I went there July 6th just after the 4th of July. My wife and I went with another couple and wanted to see how the happy hour was. The happy hour was from 4p-7p and we got there at 5:30p. They had interesting drink specials and a special bar tapas menu. The only problem was that the bar area was packed and there were no seats available at the bar. We asked for a table and after much debate between staff we were told that he couldn't order of the bar tapas menu to get the specials because we weren't sitting at the bar. This is BS and we told them. Why would you punish the customer because your bar is small. I guess they reconsidered it because a couple of other people who are also seated at tables complained about it as well. And they allowed us to order off the bar Tapas menu. they had Live Mariachi music which is always a plus. They advertised a place as authentic Mexican food but it really is in since there is food from other Spanish countries on the menu. I'm not saying the Food is bad I'm just saying it's like going to an Australian restaurant and getting Canadian or American food. Service was very slow and even after giving out order to the server it took a while to get the food and the drinks for that matter. I saw some friends there that were seated at another table and wanted to do a round of shots with them. I told my server twice if not three times and he never brought the shots out. I ordered a certain brand of rum on the rocks and they brought out a different brand that although it was good I didn't order it and had my heart set on the other brand of rum. My wife wasn't too pleased with the with the white sangria she said it had an aftertaste as if it was made with tequila. My friend drank beer and there's not really too many ways you could screw that up since you just open a bottle and hand it to the customer. The biggest problem we had was the wait for the food and for the drinks and a slow service. I know the place is new and it probably trying to work out the bugs but if they don't then they going to find them self out of business like the Italian place that used to be there. I might give this place a try again. I posted my bill and the only reason it is that low is because the service was slow and to get refills on the food and tapas took forever. I was skeptical to try this place just because of the parking lot its in and I've always had crappy luck with places in lots like these. I was so happy I decided to get some food here for my family and I. Everything was absolutely delicious, from the guac to the salsa to the shrimp. Very flavorful, very energetic staff with a relaxing venue. I don't recall the bartenders name who assisted me but he was a very genuine and decent dude. He gave me a shot to try and was overall just a very happy and nice dude. The manager was also very helpful and had a willingness to assist his employees as a peer. Let me begin by stating that our group has gone to the Margarita's locations Wantagh & West Meadow, these locations were great. This location is another thing altogether, upon our arrival we were greeted with beautiful live Mariachi music and seated quickly, we ordered our first round of drinks and proceeded to order appetizers. We ordered table side guacamole and received our chips, the server began the guacamole and then disappeared without providing it to us, by the time he came back and provided our guacamole to us we were done with the chips, we received our Ceviche and it did not taste fresh and lacked seafood other the one shrimp on the edge of the glass. We ordered another round of drinks and as our evening progressed we came to find that the drinks were prepared in an inconsistent manner, from no salt on our Margarita rims to different levels of pours even though we were ordering the same drinks. The food was average and not impressive, what we found most shocking was when the Mariachi band that had been signing beautifully through out or time there asked the floor lead (grey suit 5'8, slick black hair) for 3 glasses of water for their group and he rudely told them that they were not on break ! WTF? We thought that perhaps we had misunderstood his reply and when we asked him if he could bring them water he told us the same thing! What kind of indentured servant mentality is that ? Are these musicians not people also? Seriously what does a glass of water cost a restaurant ? It was a disgusting display of arrogance on his part and then we then saw him discussing it with the manager (white shirt, tie, glasses balding, suspenders) and another floor lead ( white shirt, heavy set). And then they still didn't give the musicians any water, not a drop. We have them the glasses from our table and we were embarrassed to be there as clients. We gave the musicians a $200 tip and apologized for not having done more , but we are sharing with our Yelp family. We were so appalled that we will NEVER return to this Margarita location and we urge you not to visit this location so perhaps the ownership of this chain will change the management. When in the area I will go to an establishment like Del Fuego where the food, drinks, ambiance and respect for their workers are consistently good. read more

The Taco salad is not a Taco salad by any means. There is nothing Mexican about it. No sour cream, no Guacamole, no jalapeño. In addition it is tiny with minimal chicken and not worth $17+. The salsa is puréed. We asked the waitress and she said some people like that. Well then have both because it is not what anyone I know likes. Most places have chunky salsa this was like Taco sauce and not even that great for Taco sauce. The only redeeming quality of this experience was the waitress who was friendly and professional. read more

My husband and I went here for the first time last night, and it was a really lovely date! We were met at the door by a friendly host, who asked us where we preferred to sit, which was really nice. Our server, Alex, was working his second day at the restaurant, and he was absolutely great. Very attentive, great timing, and he even returned to the table to refill my sangria from the pitcher on our table, which was a nice touch. The food was really excellent - we started out sharing a Nachos Supreme, which was very cheesy and melty and delicious. For dinner, I had the Enchiladas Suizas, and hubby had the Enchiladas Mixtas. The chips and salsa on the table were refilled throughout the meal (another nice touch), and everything was hot and tasty! I was also interested to see that a table of eight nearby ordered guacamole, which was made fresh table-side with a stone mortar and pestle on a rolling cart the restaurant set up specially for that service. How interesting! I enjoyed watching that. As we had guacamole on our nachos, I could also enjoy the results of what we were watching. The decor at Margaritas is really eye catching - lots of Day of the Dead artwork on the walls, and the Mexican music in the background was just the right volume to keep the atmosphere cheerful and upbeat without drowning out conversation.
